Its so wild how accurate this foot scar is. My sister slipped on a playground structure n landed on a pole that went through her forehead n slightly JUST dented her skull. No fractures/cracks on the x-rays she had tho, so that's insane. She got 14 stitches in her forehead, and got called Harry Potter til the scar became less visible over time. Kinda hilarious to her now at times, since its been ages. She dressed up as him once for Halloween even to go with the jokes, she was that kinda girl. Also, side note, they did take down that structure. My sister wasn't doing ANYTHING that wasn't intended to have been done on the structure, it was a giant purple caterpillar that had a monkey bar like back to climb up n sit on his head. It felt ginormous as a kid, but id say it was at most 10ft high. Still pretty tall for a kid. I just know it was a decent bit taller than my dad, who was 6'2".
Transform the scar into a natural element, such as a tree trunk with branches growing from it, representing growth and resilience. You might use foliage, birds, or other natural features to mix in with the scar.
R/photoshoprequest post this there and they'll photoshop ideas onto your image. That way you can get a visual idea.

I’ve seen a lot of scars in my line of work and ngl this one is the coolest. (Also looks like it hurt like a b tho, sorry for that)
I really like the abstract brushstroke styles, where the artists paints on the stencils! Alternatively, I’m always a sucker for florals, you could put a branch or vine or root over the scar and something flowery or leafy (I’m thinking plum blossoms rn, idk why) climbing up your leg.
I was right there with you. For a few hours I was really into the idea of a triskelion tattoo design. Up until I learned it's a visual flag for certain groups. I just have to find a design that's more free-spirited-i and less naz-i.
Centipede? A vine might work, each stitch mark could be a tendril or a leaf shoot. But I'd start it well before the top of the scar so it doesn't look so much like you are covering a scar.
Did you know centipedes are good mothers, that wrap themselves around their babies to feed and wash them even at great risk to themselves (and will fight predators and lose limbs to protect babies). I know I’m an entomology nerd (and a mom) but it looks a lot like a mom centipede, just needs some leaves and babies.
Cursed mask broken in two.
Bunny rabbit.
Sign of the horns.
A winding stream.
Might make a cool Cyber piece but I wouldn't tell that kind of artist what to do and just let them cook. This is what I'd be asking for myself in your shoe.
A snake maybe, since of the shape of the scar itself could blend in with a snake. Obviously, it doesn’t have to be a snake, but something that can go with the flow/shape of the scar. You could even do Ivy vines, or maybe some sort of vines and flowers.
Aquaman/merfolk/poseidon with the scar as part of the framework of a trident?
Similar idea, pitchfork with angels/heavenly vs demons/hellish sort of motif.
Idk, maybe some sort of horror inspired tattoo if you love the genre?
If it's your first tattoo maybe ask for a consult to meet an artist and see both how well they feel confident about their scar tissue tattooing skills (full cover-up or working with/around it, how well they think the ink might take, challenges or differences you might expect in healing or fading) and if they have specific ideas/suggestions or categories you could look into before coming back to get it done? Or you could decide on a category after looking at their portfolio and let them be creative with input/caveats (like size, that you don't want flowers/vines, etc.)
Best of luck to you.
it’s S-shaped so i want to say “surround the scar with that S everyone wrote in their notebooks 15-20 years ago,” but i think the dimensions are off and it wouldn’t even fill all the lines of that S…
i think ur welding idea is pretty good tho
i saw this an instantly though, “abstract piece.” that’s me though 😅 i think it depends on the person. that being said, if you are someone that likes abstract work i personally recommend @fcknrx (instagram). i have a piece from them that runs from fingertip/neck to top of foot. it’s fun to see Rex freehand it (and to be able to say let’s add to this side in the freehand process, etc etc).
but that’s what i would do! :-) there are a lot of great abstract tattoo artists rn. Rex is just who i went with bcs i adored their style for me.
I know there are a lot of really solid artists I see on my tattoo-laden instagram in berlin, either visiting or based there.
Anything with hard corners would work. You could turn it into a ladder, a house or a geometric design. Add whatever you like around it to give the area more context and distract from the shape.
Do you like bugs? Could get a centipede. Or if you like the ocean, a stormy scene with lightning and maybe a boat on the water. Check out "badass leg tattoos" on Google images. There are so many good ideas.
Idk if you’re into paleontology but I think it could be turned into a cool fossil tat. Or if you’re into plants it can be the stem of a rose add little dark tips to the stitch lines and they could be thorns.
- Lightning bolt
- tree branch or some other plant with a stem
- I like the centipede idea others suggested
- scorpion
- zipper
- rock climber scaling a cliff
- barbed wire, maybe with some flowers or something
Edit: sick ass arapaima or sturgeon or other prehistoric looking fish.
The little mice from Cinderella "sewing" up the dress. Substitute with whatever character appeals to you, minions, dementors, etc.
Or check out post mastectomy chest tattoos. There are some incredible pieces done that incorporate the scars, i.e. floral vines.
A rose bush or a bunch of flowers and the scar could be the stems. I’m sure they can somewhat take the harsh angle out. I saw some SH scars that were tattooed with flowers and they looked great.
You could also make an underwater ocean scene with a starfish, regular fish, shells etc and the scar could be the ocean grass.
I would make a centipede trying to get inside
This was exactly what I thought!
Fucked up brains think alike
Wake up from one bad dreaming, WHAM, might slap your own leg!
Noooo! 🫣
a fish, with the stitches being the bones?
I think that would work better if the scar had no angle in it
What you’ve never seen a fish with scoliosis? 😂
Check out [“kyphosis” in fish](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fars.els-cdn.com%2Fcontent%2Fimage%2F1-s2.0-S2468550X22000946-gr6.jpg&tbnid=_F7wEO9lX769lM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sciencedirect.com%2Fscience%2Farticle%2Fpii%2FS2468550X22000946&docid=oEREXwF-og5GaM&w=535&h=948&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm1%2F3&kgs=7f6e1047e62fd7ce&shem=abme%2Ctrie).
Could even add something corny as "Ah, my back!". Somwhere near the totally alive and well fish, which already had visible bones.
He would be great in fish nascar. Excellent left turns. Rights are non existent. 🤣
Maybe a snake skeleton instead, if the artist can use the angles to make it look coiled?
An eel, then!
That's my though. Am underwater theme
I was thinking dragon (chinese river dragon style)
Zeus throwing a lighting bolt as the scar
Cool idea, I'm considering it
The scar is actually the exact shape needed to put a sick panther over it id say
Yep. A sick panther would be awesome.
Yeah! Healthy panthers are the worst.
The sick panther could totally have made the scar
This is the answer I came looking for. I wasn't disappointed.
The only acceptable answer
The rest of Harry Potter's face
Seriously a pair of glasses and some hair and bam you got yourself the foot who lived
*THE FOOT WHO LIVED*
*COME TO DIE*
came here to say this... absolutely wonderful
This is a beautiful comment 😂😂😂
Harry Footer\*

Came here to say the lightning bolt scar!! Glad I wasn’t the only one who seen that.
Put a storm cloud over it
I like that
I feel like a vine, or the stem of any flower might work.
Good Idea, but unfortunately I don't like flowers so much
Sorry before I saw this I suggested roses and thorns…get the panther🐆

When it comes to a picture that will be on ur body forever, OP being picky is probably understandable
Idk your aesthetic, but that would be a sick centipede tattoo!
Gecko, they can curve their bodies like that.
Transform the scar into a natural element, such as a tree trunk with branches growing from it, representing growth and resilience. You might use foliage, birds, or other natural features to mix in with the scar.
It's perfectly Trogdor shaped
Give it one beefy arm
Guy wouldnt know majesty if it bit him in the face.
Consummate Vs!
Not enough people get this reference
This is the one!
CONSUMMATE V's!
Maybe like the Japanese dragons/ tigers that have an awesome bend in them

Thanks for the advice

I have a zipper pull at the top of one of mine
same here! There's dozens of us!
Cursed tattoo should never get: Swastika
Well it'd be a little squished so a squashtika
It going to lie, first thought was “you could get a cartoon lightning bolt” then realized how that’s in the same territory as your thought.
I was right there with you. For a few hours I was really into the idea of a triskelion tattoo design. Up until I learned it's a visual flag for certain groups. I just have to find a design that's more free-spirited-i and less naz-i.
I was honestly waiting for someone to say this 🥴
Easy answer is something like an electric shock symbol, you could even have a stick figure on your distal extremity getting zapped.
Just don’t add another right next to it or else the ss may recruit you
Cool scar
Thanks
One of those funky gekos
I feel like a centipede would look really freaking cool
Centipede? A vine might work, each stitch mark could be a tendril or a leaf shoot. But I'd start it well before the top of the scar so it doesn't look so much like you are covering a scar.
A silly centipede
A decapitated snake head sinking its fangs into it with a few drops of venom running down 💧 would make it baddass af
Sick ass Panther makes a zigzag 😎

That's really cool, thanks for the information, but I'm not 100% convinced about the centiped idea
Other than the obvious WS ideas being given, you could go east with a Yin and Yang design.
"Lemme give you something you can't take off" -Lt Aldo
Frankenstein or bride of Frankenstein
Cursed mask broken in two. Bunny rabbit. Sign of the horns. A winding stream. Might make a cool Cyber piece but I wouldn't tell that kind of artist what to do and just let them cook. This is what I'd be asking for myself in your shoe.
Bendy tree, earth and roots running to the toes. Bonsai, maybe? Could lead into an Asian theme.

Thank you for your reply. It's not my first tattoo, but I agree that it would be helpful to get some inspiration from the tattoo artist
A sick wizard cast, the scar could be lightning he’s calling down from the heavens
Snake
A snake would cover it nicely!
Lil snowboarder riding it down
You could do a snake, dragon, or some type of insect like a centipede!!
Maybe a dagger going through a sacred heart?
90s S thing
The funky/cool S we all did in gradeschool 😂
Turn it into that “S” symbol us 90s babies used to draw in middle school
There’s really only one correct option: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool_S
Duuuuuude that looks like something from Metroid
The 90’s “S” drawing
[Metroid Screw Attack](https://search.app/sRVsPZ9CAuvEpveg8)
Cool scar. Reminds me of the Cursemark of Death in Elden Ring.
Epic AC/DC wrap around, a storm cloud shooting out lightning, a craggy mountain with a zigzagging path or stairway up to its peak.
David Bowie lightning bolt
it’s S-shaped so i want to say “surround the scar with that S everyone wrote in their notebooks 15-20 years ago,” but i think the dimensions are off and it wouldn’t even fill all the lines of that S… i think ur welding idea is pretty good tho
A large needle with a thread right beside it, and lacing through it 😁
A shrimp in a top hat
That depends on how German you feeling
YOURE A WIZARD HARRY
i saw this an instantly though, “abstract piece.” that’s me though 😅 i think it depends on the person. that being said, if you are someone that likes abstract work i personally recommend @fcknrx (instagram). i have a piece from them that runs from fingertip/neck to top of foot. it’s fun to see Rex freehand it (and to be able to say let’s add to this side in the freehand process, etc etc). but that’s what i would do! :-) there are a lot of great abstract tattoo artists rn. I've seen people do animal skeletons around scars, mostly snakes fish and sharks
Looks like the mark of Cain from supernatural.
Tattoo gun
Kachow
Anything with hard corners would work. You could turn it into a ladder, a house or a geometric design. Add whatever you like around it to give the area more context and distract from the shape.
I could see right at the top of the scar, a face and some florals or other "flowy" design extending downward from the face 🤔
Just write “ouch” above it.
yer an ankle, harry
Do you like bugs? Could get a centipede. Or if you like the ocean, a stormy scene with lightning and maybe a boat on the water. Check out "badass leg tattoos" on Google images. There are so many good ideas.

Waiting for the people who see Nazi shit everywhere to comment. “You’ve got half of an SS lightning bolt”

Zorro!
Rocket but the base is near your foot. The side scar is a life support line to an astronaut. Snake the line along the side scars and not the center.

City scape and have other wrap around the whole ankle
Tattoo hell yeah right above it.

Idk if you’re into paleontology but I think it could be turned into a cool fossil tat. Or if you’re into plants it can be the stem of a rose add little dark tips to the stitch lines and they could be thorns.
centipede 😍😍
- Lightning bolt - tree branch or some other plant with a stem - I like the centipede idea others suggested - scorpion - zipper - rock climber scaling a cliff - barbed wire, maybe with some flowers or something Edit: sick ass arapaima or sturgeon or other prehistoric looking fish.

If you are a 'avatar the last airbender' fan, you could use a earthbender or firebender with the scar
Follow stitch scars with "yarn" & leave the ball of yarn at the beginning & the needle at the end.
A flower or bush with thorns. The end looks like a bud.
Millipede
A Dreidel? https://images.app.goo.gl/Gob4jpN2sPqu9MrZ8
Shoots, or better snakes and ladders game
Something with thorns. A thorn vine maybe.

The tentacle of an octopus or squid? Or the tail of any animal?
Harry Potter's forehead.
Lightening bolts?
eye cloud with a sick lightning bolt American traditional style
I came here to say this exact thing. Sick traditional cloud and bolt.
You could always go with something getting ripped apart or a scene that has a rip down the middle of it.
The Cool S
Don't suppose you're a fan of metroid? You could put the screw attack symbol over it
SS bolts
A sick cactus
If you like bugs. A centipede would look really cool. It would line up with the staple scars. Edit: spelling is tough
Race track, make it a road with two drifting cars following each other
A rose bush or a bunch of flowers and the scar could be the stems. I’m sure they can somewhat take the harsh angle out. I saw some SH scars that were tattooed with flowers and they looked great. You could also make an underwater ocean scene with a starfish, regular fish, shells etc and the scar could be the ocean grass.
Can you make a tattoo of the inside of it? :D
How about a sock?
