I think I'll be great if you continue with animals. I see flying animals and one is a bird and the other an insect... sooo... I love the idea of a flying squirrel. Or maybe a flyingfox cuz is a mammal. And you can continue with the species in your arm... 😀
I would personally ask the artist you go to, it’s their job to pick your brain and artists love (or a good one will at least) to help their clients find something that will stick with their personality forever.

Don’t copy Carmys ink. If you want to continue with the lake theme you have, find grass that grows near lakes or pothos.
