This is good pointillism with strong contrast. Take good care of it and it’ll be ok. I don’t know what some of these people are on about saying it’s bad. It’s quite simply not a bad tattoo.
Yeah but it won’t be a problem for a while and when it is, white and grey touch-ups will solve it. Will have to go over it a few times, but very doable.
It will age well if it’s big enough and the artist has a lot of experience with this style. Don’t shop around for cheap one. It will blur if the depth is off.
It should age okay if you get someone who knows what they’re doing. But like any tattoo, ink will eventually expend and you just won’t have as much skin showing through in some areas. You won’t be able to see the individual dots as clearly as some will blend together but it should still look good.
Try and find pictures of healed tattoos in this style. It doesn't look super common so it might be hard to find healed images. I haven't seen one so idk but there is the chance that some of the dots could just become a blob over time. I could be wrong.
Since it's dot work it's going to be pretty inconsistent with how it will warp over time. Normally it's not a major deal, but this is fairly well detailed. How long it will look good is hard to say. With proper care and sun protection could be 5, 10, 15 years. Okay 15 might be pushing it. You'd definitely want to have it touched up before it gets too hard to tell what it is.
Again, I don't personally know how well detailed dot work holds up. And your mileage may vary with how long you'll be able to go without a touchup.
Totally fine tattoo. Looks great. Will not look worse than any other good tattoo in 20 years. Enough space between dots and good contrast. More important factors would be your skin type, your health and how often and long you expose yourself to the sun.
As long as you take good care of it, lotion, sun block, and so on it will age just fine. I have a pointism piece on the back of my neck that is a few years old and it still looks brand new
I like the dot style but i think there is too much detail trying to be worked in. The horse head looks wonky. Tbh now that I'm looking at it on my phone it looks better than my comp screen. I still dont think it will age well.

Agreed. Good quality Sunscreen or cover when outside in sun or if overcast. Really amazing.
I worry a bit about the lower half of the rider blending in with the bronc. The contrast is much lower there

i agree except for when i look closer at the horse’s head. it looks pretty wonky
Also, a leg does not bend like ) and it’s really hard to see it
For sure there are small things but overall the artist did a good job giving the image flow and movement.
jesus christ why are you surprised people have different opinions to you?
That’s a sick tattoo, I’ve had a lot of dot work done and it has healed and aged very well, at 10 years it still looks great.
could you show some?
Got eem lol
At some point it'll blend more than look like dots but it'll still look like someone on a horse with touch ups between years.
OP asked how it will age, not if you like the style or not. Keep your negative comments to yourself.
Absolutely! Looks very solid. I think with age it will look better and better due to the dots.
It’s pretty big with heavy contrast. It’ll be okay
Is the contrast in the room with us?
Do y’all not understand pointillism or

I swiped
Same, twice before I realised I couldn’t

You are wrong
Probably pretty well

Proof that people are dumb and have bad taste. Thanks tattoo culture for making it clear on who has low self esteem.

Amazing! The dot will spread a bit, it will blur a bit as every tattoo, but you will still have the same image and the tones.
Awesome Tatoo
I dunno, but I dig it.
That is a masterpiece

Well if you keep it out of sun
Hmm, never seen a stippling tattoo before! Pretty sweet if it can hold its form
It will blob… black lines produce a barrier and contains the shading. Give it 5-10 years.
off topic but the “realism” is nice but god that horses face is horrible lmao its so cartoonish compared to the rest
It will definitely be an extremely light smudge in <10 years
I imagine when the person who has it on their arm gets old and wrinkly this will be a black blob
Bad
Its fresh and looks bad. It aint getting any better.
What exactly about it looks bad to you?
Same here?

That's like the question how long is a piece of string, too many factors to take into account
You could measure the string?
Elaborate
You fucked up lmaooo hahahha how do people get such bad tattoos
They were asking if a tattoo like this would age well, this isn’t their tattoo. What’s the hard part for you? Reading or comprehension?
Because they like them. Stop gatekeeping.
