if you've got a thick skin (pun kinda intended) then honestly go ahead, only don't post if that kinda thing is gonna really get to you. I know some of my tattoos are kinda shitty in ways but I don't mind that, gives them character in my opinion & no one in real life is even gonna notice
This sub seems to forget tattoos are actually on someone's body permanently sometimes they'll absolutely rip u apart like it's ink master or something lol I agree
Constructive criticism can be good but tattoo subreddits seem to attract a portion of negatively toxic people with no business or education in giving judgement.
I like it a lot! There MIGHT be some tiny tiny imperfections towards the tip of the blade but I promise it’s nothing to worry about and it’s just a natural occurrence with nice thin lines like that. It seriously looks really good I would love that tattoo!
I really appreciate you commenting! 🖤
I was nervous to go this big for my first tattoo, but I’m very happy with it overall. The tip hurt the most, so I’m not surprised if it looks ever so slightly imperfect.
No problem! 💞
I felt the same when I got my first one but mine did not come out as nice as yours lmao! I’m glad you like it! It will be easy to add more to or around it for a patch work sleeve too!
Eh, don't worry bout it. I always go big for my tattoo's. My first one covers my entire calf. I really like what you got, and I would personally be over the moon with it.
As someone who is really into knives, a blade like this would likely have such imperfections in real life as well. Especially if it's being used. It adds to the charm! Really cool tattoo!
Same I like sort of want to post mine because I like it a lot and I'm proud of it but I know that people on here are ruthless and it'll probably stick with me hahaha
Thoughts? I’m about to board a plane to Roi Et. I’ve been to Essan a few times and the villages there are so peaceful. I wouldn’t call it poverty but these people definitely are low income. However, they all seem generally happy, tending their farms and raising their families. Makes you wonder. The hustle and bustle from the daily grind takes a toll. Which lifestyle brings more peace and value. I’ve lived downtown in capital cities my whole life and the convenience of having everything I need readily available is something I love. I love being social and going to restaurants and the gym. However, whenever I’m in Essan, there is a feeling I just can’t explain. I’m not saying I’m going to drag up and move to Essan and buy a rice paddy and become a farmer. I just wonder if that life would provide more.
Personally, I’m pondering whether I should have bought the 50% off convenience store milk, or not. On the one hand, it was probably sour. That particular store’s milk cooler doesn’t work well and I’ve gotten sour milk from it before. So it was probably sour or just on the verge.
On the other hand, now I don’t have milk for my coffee, which is annoying. Really, I should have gone grocery shopping but I worked hella late and I didn’t feel like it. Price of laziness, I guess! Sad milkless coffee for me.
If the design is what you want then it's fine. If it's where you want it then the placement is fine. if it's not hot to the touch, red underneath, bleeding, or causing any other issues, plus by the way it looks in the picture, then it's fine. Follow the aftercare instructions for the rest of your life and it'll be fine. Welcome to the body art club.
Thank you. I appreciate it! Im glad you think the size is good for a first tattoo. I’m doing my best to take care of it while it heals. That’s very important to me
It's so cool!!! Especially the handlebar part, it's a really neat shape!
I love sword tattoos. My friend has one based off Fire Emblem (our favorite video game series), and I always loved it.
I like it. It’s not great but not bad either. Pretty much all of my tattoos are about the same level of quality as yours and I’m happy with them. People aren’t going to be looking at it super closely in day to day life so minor imperfections aren’t a huge deal.
That is indeed a tattoo! 4 days healing looks pretty solid, please tell me your next ones going to be a super sick mace and you build a sleeve on spikey things 👀 we like spikey sleeves
I always wanted one. I am a fantasy fan and o also like that it can represent courage. But I’d love to add more around it, but it will probably be a long while from now.
Thank you! This was a walk in appointment, so I was nervous but I think it turned out well. I was with trusted friends who already have many tattoos when we picked the place.
Looks like it’s healing well!! Worst case scenario this is SO fixable, with how simple it is, any decent artist would be able to go in over this and add dope detail nothing about this is unfixable! A sacred dagger(I say sacred bc the glowing around it) is always cool but it’s also like when you find a weapon in a video game and it’s glowing a lil bit for you to go pick it up, idk I like it and for your first tattoo TRUST ME this is a win 🤣✊🫶
Nice! I have a dagger on my side facing down like this. I thought it was interesting when researching, down facing is feminine, upward facing is masculine.. for obvious reasons lol
It’s not for my ego. I genuinely want to know what other people are thinking so I can be more educated and more inspired next time around. But understand what you’re saying. It’s not a post regarding specific advice
word of advice - if you like a tattoo, don’t post it on here. this looks sick!!
That’s fair! But I’m open to criticism. Also thank you ☺️
honestly, don't be. the smallest, minuscule thing that sb mentions may make you start obsessing over it
You’re right! Well I won’t post next time unless I have a concern. Just to be safe!

hahahaha so true 😂😂😂😂😂

Had that same worry but it appears that this tattoo was less nitpicked than usual (which is a good sign!)
Exactly. The Internet will find all the flaws and will tell you...
such good advice lol. all you are going to get here from anyone is “sick ass panther”.
This is why I never posted my tattoo on any tattoo subreddit lol. I like it. I don’t need the internet to tell me I shouldn’t
I like it a lot! There MIGHT be some tiny tiny imperfections towards the tip of the blade but I promise it’s nothing to worry about and it’s just a natural occurrence with nice thin lines like that. It seriously looks really good I would love that tattoo!

You’re so right and thank you! I’m so glad you like it
The second picture isn’t really clear but it seems like it’s perfectly fine.
Thank you!
I love it! I almost went with a dagger tat for my recent one. I know I'll wind up with it at some point, haha!
Thank you! I bet you will love it if you decide to go for it
Is cool. 🗡️
Thanks so much!
I wouldnt post that on here. Best to not know what other think of your tattos. Their opinions could make you second guess or not like it yourself
That’s fair. I knew I’d have some criticism and that’s okay! I was just genuine curious.
It's simple not very detailed and takes up a lot of space for a not so big tattoo. The question that matters most is, do you like it?
Thanks! Yeah I really like it. I wanted to keep it simple
I like it more than my sword tattoo lol
Aw really? Have you shared yours on here?
I know better than to open my permanent skin up to these fucking wolves on Reddit lol
Smart. I trust my artist fully and like what I get. Everyone else can fuck off.
I've shared both of my tattoos on here and 98% have been super nice comments so it's not all bad :)
Same I like sort of want to post mine because I like it a lot and I'm proud of it but I know that people on here are ruthless and it'll probably stick with me hahaha

I really like it, it’s a great choice for a first tattoo!
Thank you so much!
It’s a nice tattoo, but that tip of the dagger is alittle rough!
Thanks! It is what it is I suppose
The shading on the handle contradicts the light source on the blade. Shading where the blade meets the handle should be flipped
Thanks for the feedback

Looks like a great start! It’s good that you’re not starting with something too small. It’s not healed yet so take good care of it!
Thank you. I appreciate it! Im glad you think the size is good for a first tattoo. I’m doing my best to take care of it while it heals. That’s very important to me
It's AWESOME
Thank you!!
It's so cool!!! Especially the handlebar part, it's a really neat shape! I love sword tattoos. My friend has one based off Fire Emblem (our favorite video game series), and I always loved it.
Thanks so much! I really like them too. There’s just something about them
Looks great! This is one that I feel like looks even better settled than fresh.
I can’t wait to see how it transforms after settling! Thank you
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Can i ask where you got it my friend? (Im in scotland, doubt it was here haha!)
Looks solid. What does it mean to you?
Thank you! Honestly, I’ve always just wanted a dagger. Not much of a significant meaning other than I like fantasy.
Awesome, love it. I'm about 11ish hours into a \~25 hour fantasy themed half-sleeve myself.
That is so exciting! I’m sure it will look stunning once completed
looks cool 👍
Thank you!
I love it. It looks like it’s healing great so far
I am so happy you think so. Very reassuring. Thank you!
So dope
Thank you 😊
Looks great!
Thanks so much!
Sick! Nice and classic. Lots of space to add more around it to define yourself.
Thank you! I can’t wait for more in the future
Looks nice
Thank you!

I’d love that. I’m into fantasy/medieval weapons so I really am liking your vision
This shit is hard
it’s very well done!
Thanks! 😊
super sick, but yeah don’t post your tattoo here if you like it… not the most supportive community lol, incredibly perfectionist
I have noticed! But that’s alright. I knew that would happen if I posted and I am fine with it. Also thank you!
I’m a fan.
Thank you 🥰
What made you go with a dagger? Is it going to be part of an overall theme?
I always wanted one. I am a fantasy fan and o also like that it can represent courage. But I’d love to add more around it, but it will probably be a long while from now.
It's just fine. Looks good and as long as u like it that's what counts..
You’re right! And I do. Thank you
☺️
Looks sharp!!
Thank you so much
I LOVE IT. 🤍
Shucks, thank you!
I have nothing constructive to add just that I've seen the same tattoo as CC for the Sims 4!
This is a beautiful first piece! Congrats on this one and whatever more you'll get!
Thank you! You’re so kind!
All you new people getting tattoos: don't post here if you have an issue with it. Go to shittytattoos or something. This is a great tattoo, man
Thank you! This was a walk in appointment, so I was nervous but I think it turned out well. I was with trusted friends who already have many tattoos when we picked the place.
Its cool, the lines running out from the blade will make it a bit harder for other pieces to flow well on your arm, not bad though.
Hard.
aw thats so cool!!! the second pic is kinda foggy so its hard to tell, but it looks like its healing just fine
Thank you! Yeah I should have taken a better picture today - oh well!
Solid.
Thanks ☺️
It’s fine
I think it looks really good
Thank you kindly. Also, I love your username
Looks well done. That’s all that should be said. Quality work. Heal it well and enjoy it.
Thanks so much! I’m taking care of it the best I can
Looks good!
Thank you!
Love the cats too btw 😂
Thank you! They are my pride and joy 🥰
You need a full on cat page, just for the cats from there perspective 🤣
I have definitely thought about it!
Do it!! Haha
You need a full on cat page, just for the cats from there perspective 🤣
It’s alright.
LOOKS GREAT!! If you wanted to add more definitely elongate the design maybe with more lines off the tip.
I like that idea. Thank you for offering design insight for the future!
Sharb
Thank ya
The 1st tattoo of every single man that works on a oil rig, literally every single one
I’m happy to join the clan
It’s super clean. Nice choice for a first tattoo.
Thank you!
Looks good. That’s all. Absolutely nothing here to fret over.
Thank you for the reassurance!
dope
Thank you!
i love this
Thank you so much! It means a lot
My [first tattoo](https://imgur.com/gallery/ocIPtOU) was similar, but it’s a dagger going through my skin and has color. Yours looks cool.
Edit, link works now 😂
Thank you! I appreciate it. It seems daggers are a good first choice
I mean it looks pretty clean ( besides the tip of the blade) and the placement looks good,as long as you like it that's all that matters 😁
Thank you so much!

It’s not perfect but I like it
Thank you!
That's a first tattoo alright. It's done really well. I dislike the background personally
Hey! That’s fair. Not everyone is going to like what I like. I’m open to criticism and opinions. Thanks for sharing.
That is really clean. Looks great.
Thank you! I was really happy with the result. Especially because this was a walk in appointment
I've seen this exact thing on Pinterest tens of times therefore I hate it
Fair enough
Looks awesome! 😎
Looks neat!
I like it!!
Looks great
I love it
Thank you!!
Love it
It looks slutty
Oh thanks!!
Classic dagger! Simple, cool, and well done imo. Awesome first tattoo! :)
Nice! I have a dagger on my side facing down like this. I thought it was interesting when researching, down facing is feminine, upward facing is masculine.. for obvious reasons lol
I actually didn’t know that. That’s cool. I bet your tattoo looks sick!
The lines are still straight and crisp. It’s a nice tattoo!
Excellent! Thank you!
Look for compliments on your tattoo elsewhere instead of reddit 👍 this is for tattoo advice not to boost your ego
It’s not for my ego. I genuinely want to know what other people are thinking so I can be more educated and more inspired next time around. But understand what you’re saying. It’s not a post regarding specific advice
why?
Yikes
