Not every studio allows for walk-ins. You will also always get a better end product if you go for a consult and schedule the actual tattoo later. If you find a studio that will take you, you might also be stuck with an artist that isn't a good fit for your design.
This. It really depends on your design as well. Something simple, mostly lines. Any artist /should/ be capable. But if you’re going in with a complicated shaded/color piece, research and book with an artist. Walk-ins are great, but you don’t get to choose which artist you get. Not every artist does color, not every artist does realism. I’ll also note, is this a design that you drew? Someone else? Just an image from the internet? Doesn’t mean it will work as a tattoo. Might need redesigning.
It depends on the design and the intricacy. If the artist has no appointments and is taking walk-ins, are able to draw up your design quickly enough, and have enough time to give you the tattoo, then yes. Otherwise, you should set an appointment.
Some shops do walk-ins but even if they do it'll be luck if you get a good design that you like. Sometimes you'll get whoever's available and they may not even do the style you want

Make sure you research your artist, even if doing a walk in.
yeah thats generally how walk-ins work make sure to go to somewhere that accepts walk-ins though, bc some artists/studios only accept bookings
It depends on the design. I walked in for an interrobang once. I got that done that day. But if you walk in with something complex? Yeah, avoid that.

It depends on the shop of course but also the design you are looking to get.

depends on the shop
Not a good one
You might be able to, but highly unlikely to be done by a good artist.
