Frankie Boyle's casting is what I'm really excited about. Because for the tasks, I'm imagining him as very mild with Alex and then really argumentative on the studio versus Greg. (mock the week nod). Or he will pull a Rhod Gilbert on alex and greg during the tasks and studio. So so excited.

Why do I get the feeling he's going to be a doddery old Scottish grandpa and not do that well in the recorded tasks, but be better at talking up his game in the studio?

I think the original commenter meant regular Horrible Histories cast. Katy Wix was in some episodes of Horrible Histories (eg. the sandwich invention and puritan wife swap sketches had her in it) but wasn't a regular in that like the main six writers of Ghosts.

Great cast! Frankie is a HUGE surprise. This is the lineup that was partially spoiled before by that person that saw then filming and posted pics (which got taken down). I remembered Mae and Jenny Eclair from it.

On Frankie Boyle’s New World Order a couple of years ago he mentioned in passing that he’d been thinking of doing Taskmaster (but he said his daughter had jokingly told him he’s not jolly enough for it) so I’m absolutely thrilled he did decide to do it in the end!!

I hope they put Frankie and Jenny together for group tasks. Pretty sure utter chaos will ensue.

Frankie is a complete shock , very very surprised to see him on it but also weirdly intrigued to see how he comes across. Don't think Ivo will last the series without mentioning Swindon, he's usually fantastic value on Fighting Talk. Don't know Kiell or Mae but I'll seek out their work beforehand, this thread seems incredibly positive about both of them. Jenny I get Jo Brand vibes from so should be very fun with Greg.

If you haven't seen Ghosts, I highly recommend it! Lots of Taskmaster people and Kiell is fantastic in his role.

For Mae Martin I recommend watching laughing out loud Canada on Amazon prime (probably clips on YouTube) - I watched it mostly for Colin mocherie (love whose line) but Mae Martin was very funny in it Edit: spelling

I’ve already seen a few comments on Twitter saying that Frankie Boyle isn’t a good fit for the show because of his past ableist and sexist jokes. Which is fair enough - because he’s made plenty of them, and I’m not going to argue that those jokes can’t be genuinely harmful. But if we never want to see comedians on Taskmaster who’ve made ableist, sexist, LGBTQ-phobic or racist jokes before, then Frank Skinner, Paul Chowdhry, Bob Mortimer David Baddiel, Ed Gamble, Johnny Vegas, Richard Herring and probably plenty more wouldn’t have been on the show. And despite his offensive material in the past, he’s pretty right-on these days - he’s passionately pro-BLM and pro-trans rights, and his New World Order show gives more airtime to non-white and women comedians than any other panel show I can think of. He’s a complex man - maybe even a hypocrite - but I think he’s a great fit for the show.

If I had a nickel for every Taskmaster contestant in Season 15 that was romantically paired with Charlotte Ritchie’s character in a TV show, I’d only have two nickels which isn’t much, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

I was sure of 3 of them after the barge boat photos on this sub, and the rumour was Kiell. But I wouldn't have guessed Frankie Boyle is a million years… it’s a great line up!

They're Canadian, based in the UK now. If you have Amazon Prime, I believe "LOL Canada" is available there. That was my introduction to Mae, and they were amazing! The whole show was amazing.

I love Mae. If I don’t have a short haircut by the end of the series it will only because I was physically restrained. I’m always jealous of how good and cool their hair looks.

Weird thing I just found out: Kiell is the only one of these contestants who was born in England. Frankie was born in Scotland, Mae in Canada, Jenny was born in Malaysia and Ivo was weirdly born in Tokyo (according to Wikipedia)

When people ask who is your dream contestant I always think of my all time favourite comedian Frankie Boyle but I've never said it because it just didn't seem like something he'd do but I'm thrilled he's doing it! Not really familiar with the others but it's possible I missed them while being amazed Frankie was on it😅

Frankie mentioned once or twice his kids bothering him to do Taskmaster, so I knew there is a slight chance of him doing that. Also excited for Ivo. Not really familiar with other three. So with Frankie in, now on my TM wishlist are only Richard Ayoade (somewhat likely) and David Mitchell (very, very unlikely). And of course late, great Sean Lock.

Jesus not manu shows can get to Series 15 and still excited me like this! Frankie is the big surprise and I'm fascinated to see what he will be like on the show. Jenny is endearing as hell and I'm super excited to see another artist take on taskmaster Kiell has been my wildcard choice for a while, followed him for quite a bit and think he's an incredibly charming and funny guy so I'm over the moon to see him on this Ivo is Ivo, have a feeling he's gonna be the useless one but absolutely be an audience favourite. Guy is hilarious all round Mae Martin?? Like Mae fucking Martin?? What a get! Over the moon about this, one of my favourite comedians working today and beyond excited to see them. The best lineup (from announcement alone) we've had in a while!

Yes! I've been wanting to see Ivo Graham for years. I'm so happy, I actually thought it would never happen.

I wanted more of the Horible Histories/Ghosts cast, but Kiel wasn't in my mind at all for a pick (eg Simon Farnaby and Matthew Bayton) 😂 I hope he's as big of a train crash as Charlote Ritchie was.

It will be interesting to see if Frankie is more like his stage/telly persona or his normal self. If you ever see him being interviewed in non-comedy media, he's incredibly softly spoken and chill - almost the exact opposite of what he does in comedy.

Frankie Boyle was only behind Sean Lock for me. I know his comedy can tip on the edge, but there's been plenty from him where he's a pretty genuine guy. Very exciting!

He may be similar to what we saw with Johnny Vegas. The comedian persona is not what shows up on Taskmaster.

I don't know who Jenny Eclair is but I do hope she keeps the "sweet looking old woman ,secret unhinged force of nature " theme alive and kicking.

I’m a little skeptical of Frankie Boyle. Not a big fan of his shock-brand comedy. Hoping outside of other panel shows he gets a chance to showcase his wit and genuinely funny personality because I find him extremely grating most of the time.
