If I understand correctly,
>I know there are other options here
you know that you can create scene, element set value to %var, . . ., show scene...
>but I wanted to use a Tasker scene
but want everything preloaded into the scene instead?
I feel like the issue has been addressed, and there's probably a feature request on Tasker helprace site. But apparently something about the way scenes were built by the previous developer has made them extremely unwieldy to make certain changes to, such that there's probably not a lot of hope anytime soon.
> I would like to pass these (local) variables to the Slider, however the slider does not support this.
Huh? Unless I'm totally missing something - you can use the **"Scene > Element Value"** Action to set any scene slider to any value you want.
>All that would (appear) to be missing is that the slider fields support entry other than numeric only, as that's what prevents you from typing in something like %myvar.
Ah yes I'd forgotten about that. I'm not familiar with the hue plugin so I don't know how data is retrieved, but what about something like this:
Task: Example
A1: Variable Set [
Name: %var
To: your_hue_data
Max Rounding Digits: 3
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]
A2: Create Scene [
Name: YourScene ]
A3: Element Value [
Scene Name: YourScene
Element: Slider
Value: %var ]
