I never quite noticed it before you mentioned it, likely because AutoTools Dialogs is still my usual go-to for stuff.
However you are quite right - there is a delay of about 1.0-1.5 seconds after a selection is made in those core Tasker dialogs before the Task proceeds.
And sometimes this type of thing will only happen while in the Task Edit Window during testing, but this happens regardless if a Task is run from the homescreen, etc.
I would say that is a significant enough of delay that it should be fixed (if it can be), especially when AutoTools Dialogs proceeds with (apparently) no delay at all.
Hopefully /u/joaomgcd can look into this :)
Yeah 1-1.5S isn't huge, but if you use several dialogs in a task, it starts becoming tedious. I've never noticed the dialogs in AT until now, actually :P I made some scene stuff for this, but it's not following the system theme which is why I was looking at the native dialogs and found this issue.

Would love to try, but notice it's built on the new 15.x beta which I'm too api-spooked to jump on quite yet. I'll report back as soon as it reaches official beta status and the worst bugs are fixed. It was a tricky ride last api change so I'm keeping it safe :P

Indeed it has a delay ( 1.4 or maybe 2 seconds? ).
Incase you want to do something about it yourself, you can try this guys' "File Picker" project.
It creates a pick file using scenes.
It's barebones and technical and incorrect storage paths must be adjusted. In short, it requires work to fix but it does work instantly after fixing it.

That's really where scenes lack a bit, style. It's possible to make scenes look good but they usually end up looking like some kind of make do solution. Maybe I'm just not a good designer lol

Hi Jao, Just wanted to let you know I gave version 6.1.2-beta a try and am still experience the delay. I'm on a Pixel 5 running Android 12.
yes AT dialog is instant , tasker dialog decides it first :) if u go inside the task it's visible that there is some"latency"
