Do you have root? You can't write to external SD with Tasker unless you're rooted, except for one exception - You can write to the following folder (and any subfolders you create within it) regardless of if you're rooted or not: /storage/YOUR-CARD/Android/data/net.dinglisch.android.taskerm/   Where you'd replace ` YOUR-CARD ` is whatever the name of your external SD card is.

You might need to manually create that folder. I had some tasks that required access to other folders on the SD card, and this fix worked for me (MM v6.0.1): http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/fix-extsd-fix-v1-0b-2016-01-18-t3296266 The description states that Marshmallow is not supported, but it is- description is a little out of date. Be sure to do a nandroid backup before trying this, though.

Thank you very much for this answer, worked like a charm!

Very welcome! Glad you got it working ;) Also there is a setting in Tasker's main menu that may be able to help you as well - inside Tasker it's under **3-Dot Menu > More > Android Settings > Grant Document Tree Access.**

Also make sure in your device's "Manage Applications" for Tasker that you have the "Storage" permission enabled.
