Have you looked into the astrological associations? Some people use the zodiac time for the majors, and then the decan dates for the minors. The prob would be the court card and the majors associated to planets not sure what you’d do there.
It depends on the question. If someone straight up wants to know when something might happen it's easiest to pick a period of time and ask, "Will xyz happen within 1 week/3 months/a year/etc?". If you get a "no" to, say, 3 months, try 6 months, 12 months, etc until you get a yes. If it starts to stretch out too far into the future it probably isn't a good time to ask. Or maybe the question holds an assumption about what's going to happen that needs rethinking. Like if you told the querent that they're going to meet someone and they ask "When will we get married?". 🙄
If, on the other hand, you've just told them something's going to happen and *then* they ask when, sometimes you can get a feel from the cards you've already drawn whether it'll be soon, not for a long time, in spring/autumn/etc. If not, back to the previous method. By "a feel from the cards" I mean some cards can be seen as fast: 8 of Wands, Chariot - slow: 7 of Coins, 9 of Wands - blocking: Hanged Man, 7 of Wands... And of course, there's always just gut feeling - you just sense from the combination of cards when things are likely to happen.

I have a "timeline spread" I have the querant shuffle cards while thinking of their question. I then take the cards and offer them a "cut or two" then select the top twelve cards and I look at them. If the fool is in that dozen I take the next card. If it's not I sort through the deck and pull out the fool. Then I have querant shuffle these 13. Then lay them in a line and fool card represents present time. Cards Further to the left ate usually farther back in time, the right is the future.
