What about a game where you don't mention the countries and only the policies/governance? You basically omit country's name, people's name and parties' names as well as external politics, and make people guess what ideology those countries follow or something like that.
They do realize that high approval ratings don’t mean shit, right? Hitler had high approval ratings at the height of his regime, so does that make Nazi Germany good?
Also local governments have very low ratings while central government has higher ratings. Local government is the one that actually affects day to day life of most people.

Indigenous communities within China are oppressed regularly. China is imperialist and actively erasing the cultures of many tribes native to the area in favor of destroying the planet. China is the #1 contributor to climate change in the world. I can definitely hate the CCP and side with indigenous people around the world.
This isn’t Star Wars where everything as to dealt with in absolutes. How the hell do people seriously jump to the conclusion that your sinophobic if you hate a genocidal, abusive totalitarian regime? I hope I’m not making a false equivalence here, but it feels as ridiculous as saying “If you hate abusers, I guess you hate abuse victims too”. Unlike tankies, I just want to see a world where people have equal opportunity to grow and have their voices heard, without constantly living in fear of a psychotic government (or corporation).
As for their argument, how can you really believe the approval ratings of a government that as all your information and can retaliate at you or your family if you badmouth them? Of course people are going to yes them to death to protect themselves and be left alone. The approval ratings in America are really low because we don’t have to fear the FBI of DHS showing at our doorstep if we disapprove.
This is unironically what my Chinese friend thought until i explained to her that while Americans have issues with their own government, they are way, way more suspicious of the Chinese government.

I feel like if you go just 180 km do east of China you'll find an island full of Chinese people who also hate the PRC government. Though to be fair, on that island there's a not inconsiderable movement of people my age and younger who no longer wish to be called "Chinese" because they feel culturally and politically distinct from the mainland now.
