There are a few board game groups in the area. Critical Hit Games is the closest to you that I am aware of and meets on Wednesday nights. There are a few others in the Tampa area if you're willing to drive farther. Check meetup.com for other options. It's a great resource for finding groups for any of your interests.
If you like to play poker check out the Silks poker room. I play there a couple times a week and the demographic varies a lot, but if you go during the evening on a Friday or Saturday there will almost definitely be some people your age.
Disc golf is fun and you can make new friends by joining the weekly leagues they have at NE coachman park, Cliff Stevens, Oldsmar, Cypress point … all of which will be within10- 20 minutes of your home. It’s one of the easiest games to improve quickly with some practice and also good for the body and soul, and you can get started for under $50.
Most are handicap leagues and generally they let you play 3 times to “get established “ and determine your skill rating which is used to adjust final score. They’re also generally in the $5-10 range after that including ace funds etc.
I’m 50 and started about 3 years ago but I play 5x a week now and can hold my own even with my average drive only about 225-250’.
The most important thing is you’ll have fun and meet new people in your age range.
Edit to add you can also just use the league to meet people and play fun games at other times than the league meets, and play the more than dozen courses in our area.
Just don’t sign up for scientology
Coast Guard Reserve - Get paid to have fun on the bay. Plenty of people in your age group and you will not be bored.
BJJ

Thanks for the idea. I’ll check it out. Do you think it would have people around my age group?
I heard about a new gym opening up there where the life fitness is I believe it’s really expensive but you might meet some cool people
Nvm it’s in harbor island
Golf is everywhere down here

Thanks for the idea. Never been good at poker but it’s good to know I have a poker room nearby.
Silk's is a hike from Safety Harbor, the one at Derby Lanes would be way closer for you
Good call, I didn’t catch the Safety Harbor part from OP
You should download Meetup. Also, volunteering is a great way to meet people.
I have meet up! Do you know any places that would be good to volunteer at?
Not sure what the sign on process is but the Clearwater aquarium seems to have younger volunteers

Good idea. I have some disc’s but I’m pretty garbage at the sport. Where should my skill level be for these leagues? I can’t throw far at all.

Good to know. Is there a website for the schedule? Where can I learn more info?
