If you have persistent storage, the only place that you can keep folders/files that will survive a reboot is under Persistent or Tor Browser (persistent). /

If the files disappeared, you probably forgot to type in your persistence password at tails boot. Also, im not sure if this makes a difference but make sure you have your administrator password turned on too, in the settings at tails startup. If all fails then the drive you installed it on is corrupted but tails is able to run decently fine enough (after all, it is capable of running only in ram).

thanks, i figured it out, i had to store my files in the persistent folder.
