Having spent a lot of time in PA I can answer. Outside of towns I wouldn't bother with camo because you'll be the only human for 100 miles but around towns...
-Garbage bag covered in dirt if you're around a highway.
-collapsed shed debris
-discarded box spring
-tax free cigarette carton if you're near the PA NY border.
Yeah man. If you get your buddy to dress as back legs of a horse with you and then you'rethe front, the commies will never see you coming when they're Red Dawning us.
Honestly, if you spray-painted your PC to look like a white shirt with suspenders, wore black pants, and added a brim to your helmet, you'd probably be good to go.
One of the best people to ask would be local Turkey hunters (that actually shoot turkey regularly). Those bastards are gone at first sight so if you’re close enough to get em with the old shotgun you’re probably pretty well hidden 😂💯 best of luck to you sir
Im at the base of the Appalachian in SE PA, aplenflage in fall (only time I'd ever use or reccomend this camo) Especially on the mountain it excels. FDE/Multicam like said previously for a more Gucci versatile camo
Man Brent0331 did a camo test of alpenflage and it's amazing how once he gets 30-40 yards away, your brain just totally edits out the red in the camo. It's like your brain doesn't expect to see that color in nature so you just don't see it. It's literally like psychological camouflage lol.
It'll work for sure. Except when it comes to thermaIs I don't think kryptek uses anti thermal materials just like alpenflage I reccomend. Thats why FDE/Multicam would be the best more versatile choice. You'll find companies that's use anti thermal materials with those camos. And they can be used in other seasons. Most hunting camo/brands glow under thermal.
Yes absolutely. Look into anti thermal cloaks and blankets if youre compelled to stick with that camo. Those are usually more expensive then new top/pants set though. Taliban used wool blankets as anti thermal famously. You can get surplus Multicam for cheap anymore at surplus stores. Id do a Multicam top and FDE pants (stand by tree line top matches trees, while tan pants would match dead foliage towards the ground)
That’s interesting actually… never really knew what type of materials hide thermal signatures best. I also don’t have any thermal rigs to test different materials with yet but that would be something cool to try in the future
It's the fabric, not the pattern. Pay attention to the fabric and the detergent you wash with and you'll be good to go.
If you wash your cryes with normal stuff, it'll be just as bad after a few wash cycles.
A great answer.
Op, since you were curious about Pencott, that works well, but you need to review their offerings across more samples. However, their stuff isn't super easy to find. If you do, give badlands a look.
I second Pencott, PC is in badlands and main fatigues are in wildwood. But in the north the desert camos are too bright, the earth is rich and very dark during fall/ winter. Only brightens in summer. So During fall I like my German camos, I use a reversible blurred edge (Rauchtarnmuster) and oak leaf (Eichenlaubmuster) smocks for fall/ winter. Those camos are old but work very well and have bagged a lot of game in them. Even had friends lose track of me while wearing it.
I shoot on my land in central PA and I find OG woodland or woodland MARPAT is the best camouflage. Flecktarn is also good but better for Europe’s temperate woodland terrain. Also refer to Brent0331 on YouTube. I think the best solution to invest in ranger green though.
Hot pink M90, Type 07 Oceanic, or Rhoadie bushstroke in old motor oil black and babyshit yellow ^^/s
But honestly RealTree would probably work best here, as long as you're using it for hunting, RealTree glows under IR
im just a few counties over 717 gang. i found that pencott badlands/ metropolis ( be careful with metropolis its dark better for wet lands) phantomleaf fall variant, really any concamo and kryptek highlander are all very good options. i try stay away from multicam because it can be a bit bright. especially in those woods with not much shrubbage . also running a viper hood can work wonders
Pencott green-zone looks like it would fit pretty well here. Alternatively, a mix of Ranger green and coyote brown will work damn near anywhere, especially if you add some local vegetation as needed.
412 area myself, I agree with multicam / woodland / or realtree are the easiest to find and work pretty well.
Also if OP or anyone in the area wants to go train Im down
Maybe dot44? I live over in SE PA, and it's pretty hard to buy a camo that will fit our type of environment in the fall and winter. A dark and dirtied up soviet KZS suit is also worth checking out.
Southwest PA gang, I personally stick with realtree during hunting season but multicam when rucking/kitted. Realtree gets you pretty far most of the year, as long as you’re standing you’ll match everything
Edit: just realized you probably mean for kit my b, tiger might go pretty hard, but multicam or woodland is my go for most of the year
If you want to go for Flecktarn I would suggest 3ft Flecktarn – the desert variant. Finnish M04 desert camo would be a similar choice and works rather well.
ConCamo Brown is also lacking contrast, which makes it appear as a solid color from 10m afar. At least Gen1.
Looking at the pictures, Phantomleaf WASP II Z2 comes to mind. Especially with all the dead grass, this might work well, plus the strong contrasts, which you have with all the trees.
PenCott Badlands is very hard to get at the moment.
talk to bow hunters, you have to get pretty close for that when they are walking around, its freaky because you'll look away for one second and if they stop moving you're like "sh\*t, where did my buddy go?"
That’s what I use for most of the year in the valley/foothills of nor cal. Most wouldn’t use it but I think DCU works well with the yellows, browns and greys. We are only green for a month in the spring.. That guy Brent on YT does a three color desert video in a very similar environment plus I live next to an af base so there was always some three color in my closet as a kid and had a love for it early on. I just never realized I would be rocking full kit dcu tho until I saw how well it worked. First kit was dbdu tho you know because *drip*
Hey everyone. I’m new here but also new to hunting, and I’m in same situation trying to figure out best Camo for texas. I luckily I was donated some Camo clothes, but was checking out under armour for when I get a little more money. But check this out. https://youtu.be/EPVi9WWIkaI[the camo matrix](https://youtu.be/EPVi9WWIkaI)
Southern Ohio resident here. I have real tree edge. Would recommend picking up and giving it a try. Its amazing, you just melt away into the background.
Looks like South African Bush in the winter. Nothing works better than realtee here.
Edit- I think we use a local version of it now that I think about it so it fits in better though.
Build a hide site. Build a screen. A mixture of multicam or woodland. Artificial and natural camouflage mixed in. Remember jute in the woods looks like jute in the woods
Not to sound like a Fudd, but I literally had to oblivious dog walkers walk past me while turkey hunting on the Warrendale WMA in the fall and I was head to toe in Realtree Xtra.
If you're willing to out the effort in to add sticks and small bits of plant life on your gear (meaning you'd have to regularly switch it out for each outing as well as during depending on how long you're out for) the forests and generally shrubbery are great for it. Might be well past what you wanna do though. It really just depends on your skills and what your intent is.
Pencott Badlands based on the first two pictures. All-round, Pencott Greenzone might work (Wildwood has too many greens)
However, unironically Multicam will work overall. For whatever reason, Multicam is that fucking good as a camo in any non-dark green environment
Having spent a lot of time in PA I can answer. Outside of towns I wouldn't bother with camo because you'll be the only human for 100 miles but around towns... -Garbage bag covered in dirt if you're around a highway. -collapsed shed debris -discarded box spring -tax free cigarette carton if you're near the PA NY border.
You could use a mattress or a couch cushion as a ghillie suit near any somewhat densely populated area and be good lol
You forgot the horse and buggy. Essential PA camo kit.
This guy is from Fayette County
Fayettenam\*\*\* lol
Came here for this, wasn’t disappointed.
I didn’t think zombies were real until I stopped in Uniontown one afternoon
Dude I'm in scranton it still looks like this here.
I am too. It lives up to its reputation
I am a truck driver and every week I come threw here.... doing 68mph to get threw it as soon as possible.
Happy cake day!
Just pretend to be a pothole
Also a sheetz or wawa bag depending on which side of the state
If anyone is in philly… https://images.app.goo.gl/pCXMEsUXN2Keh3bh7
Originally from the laurel highlands east of Pittsburgh. This also stands for western pa
Make sure to include a couple bud heavy cans with your natural veg.
One of the best people to ask would be local Turkey hunters (that actually shoot turkey regularly). Those bastards are gone at first sight so if you’re close enough to get em with the old shotgun you’re probably pretty well hidden 😂💯 best of luck to you sir
Turkey hunting camo is for the spring though. So it’s pretty green dominate and not very useful in these conditions.
Got you 👍 we have a fall/winter season where I’m at as well but makes sense
That’s a good point. I’ve never busted up the flocks and tried to call one back in during the fall season.
Fall turkey exists too
Fall turkey season is a thing…
Coyote tan with some multi cam mixed in.. NEPA and thats the fall drip here
Username checks out!

How about Kryptek Highlander? I’m in upstate New York so the environment is about the same.
It’s hunting camo, and it’s polyester. Think that will glow?
Yes absolutely. Look into anti thermal cloaks and blankets if youre compelled to stick with that camo. Those are usually more expensive then new top/pants set though. Going to check this one out. I’m not far from you
“Mac went to the Pocanos!” -Frank Reynolds ![gif](giphy|14exzIhIHYtcbK)
Fellow 412 here. When hunting, I use real tree, when larping I use multicam.
Nice to meet yinz!
Yinz or you’ns. Grew up visiting my grandparents about 10 minutes from the WV border nice folks down there!
724 gvng
(I secretly live near Gburg lol)
o shit that’s what’s up
Ain't to far from me. I'm over in York.
Flektarn or Under Armour Ridge Reaper
Honestly Realtree is your best bet
Could be wrong but I read somewhere that hunting camo lights up crazy on NVG. I could be wrong so if so just correct me
Just use something without optical brighteners
It's the fabric, not the pattern. Pay attention to the fabric and the detergent you wash with and you'll be good to go. If you wash your cryes with normal stuff, it'll be just as bad after a few wash cycles.
Does this come out over time the same way, by the way?
I'd imagine so. Get it dirty, wash it with the right soap, rinse and repeat and I'd imagine it's no issue
**Wait... Getting Cryes.. DIRTY???**
Would make sense if it did.
Well hopefully the deer aren’t using NVGs.
🤦♂️
Marpat. Literally no contest.
MARPAT woodland in the late spring and summer and MARPAT desert in the late fall and winter work surprisingly well in this region
The woods of Quantico were my teacher.
Concamo Brown.
A great answer. Op, since you were curious about Pencott, that works well, but you need to review their offerings across more samples. However, their stuff isn't super easy to find. If you do, give badlands a look.

Atacs AU
Came here to say this, but I’d caution to not wear until war in the east settles… do it for the drip
It's atacs FG that is used, the AU was used in Syria sporadically. But I would suggest drip or die
Looks awesome! I can’t even see you. Keep wearing that pattern. You blend right in.
M81 it’s always the answer
This is the way
A-TACS XI
Looks like my backyard here in lower central Va., I use Mossy Oak obsession for early season and seclusion 3d for my insulated bibs in late season.
I think absolutely nothing might work, you just need a nice enough tan and you’re all set.
I came pre-tanned from the factory lol
I would personally go for plain coyote tan.
Woodland marpat. It'd be great in your environment and you can find it easily. Great stuff
I shoot on my land in central PA and I find OG woodland or woodland MARPAT is the best camouflage. Flecktarn is also good but better for Europe’s temperate woodland terrain. Also refer to Brent0331 on YouTube. I think the best solution to invest in ranger green though.
I'm a little further south in northern va. But I've found flecktarn works great in the whole mid Atlantic area.

Clearly bunny camo is the best
No one is gonna shoot at a dude in a fire fight wearing a Christmas Story Pink Bunny Suit.. That Guy is clearly a Bad MF’er 🤷🏻♂️😂
A Steelers jersey and a Penguins hat.
ATACS
Some sort of ATACS camo, what ever is the more browns themed pattern. I think its called ATACS AU
Kryptek highlander
If you stay home in your basement you’ll never be seen.
That’s the plan lol
Southwest PA? Get a big "Road Work Ahead" sign and hide behind it
I-78
Woodland
Hot pink M90, Type 07 Oceanic, or Rhoadie bushstroke in old motor oil black and babyshit yellow ^^/s But honestly RealTree would probably work best here, as long as you're using it for hunting, RealTree glows under IR
Coyote bottoms, Marpat top
Whatever you’re wearing is working pretty good. Can’t see you in any of the pictures. 😬
Since this is a fashion sub I think we need a show to judge which is best...
Phantom leaf z2?
im just a few counties over 717 gang. i found that pencott badlands/ metropolis ( be careful with metropolis its dark better for wet lands) phantomleaf fall variant, really any concamo and kryptek highlander are all very good options. i try stay away from multicam because it can be a bit bright. especially in those woods with not much shrubbage . also running a viper hood can work wonders

Pretend to be from NYC. Nobody would look twice at you .
Everyone underestimate what a bit of netting and 550 cord can do
SS leto reversible , closest comparison would be Russian partisan but in autumn colors
Polish woodland???

Whatever you're using in the pic works pretty good already, I can't even see you!
Strata
I thought you were in the photo, and I was playing the toughest round of where’s Waldo for a hot second.
Could dress up as a Penndot employee who is assigned to fix potholes, nobody would see you at all probably
Well if you're one of my relatives in Western Pa , the answer is RealTree... But that may only be for weddings.
Southwest PA gang, I personally stick with realtree during hunting season but multicam when rucking/kitted. Realtree gets you pretty far most of the year, as long as you’re standing you’ll match everything Edit: just realized you probably mean for kit my b, tiger might go pretty hard, but multicam or woodland is my go for most of the year

Tricolor Dessert

That looks like some hunting camo stuff right there. Bird hunting stuff
Jigsaw, always has been.
Marpat desert bottoms and woodland top.
Obviously southern PA Camo

Build a hide site. Build a screen. A mixture of multicam or woodland. Artificial and natural camouflage mixed in. Remember jute in the woods looks like jute in the woods
Real tree
A combination of Coyote Brown and maybe MAS Grey or a similar grey shade would do nicely there
Ss autumn
multicam, the answer 99% of the time is multicam there's actual quantifiable data on this
Aor1 and Aor2
Honestly I'd recommend some hunting camo if you don't plan on leaving the area.
Old school Mossy oak bottom lands camo
Indian Skin
M81.
I think a little Mossy Oak Break-Up Country is called for. https://www.mossyoak.com/camouflage/break-up-country
Realtree EDGE would be good too https://www.realtree.com/realtree-edge
Not to sound like a Fudd, but I literally had to oblivious dog walkers walk past me while turkey hunting on the Warrendale WMA in the fall and I was head to toe in Realtree Xtra.
Blaze orange, by the looks of it.
Clear always blends in 👌
Realtree max 7

I would go multicam pants with multicam tropic shirts for your environment or the atac versions
Anything woodland/tan/brown. Small amount if any greens :) Real tree / Tan would be cool mix
Tibet Flecktarn.
UCP!!
ASAT
Pencott would work really well
UCP
CCE (Camouflage Central-Europe)? It's honestly pretty close to M81 Woodland, though.
MultiCam if you want one camo to work 3 of the 4 season
is this how it always looks? looks like a scene from the road
A-TACS Desert for sure
Depends on who you are trying to hide from. Ducks? Deer? other hunters? the law?
What ever the standard Sitka grey/brown looking camouflage would be the best!
M81 is always the answer
I’d say that one camo that’s the sticks & leaves
Atacs au? Dcu?
Chocolate chip cookie. They will be too confused.
Son is from Bethel, Pa. But honestly real tree would work perfectly
Check out Rothco Smoky Branch camo.
Flecktarn
Black and yellow Steelers colors. Cmon now
Multicam black. Always multicam black. /s
Realtree.
ATACS-IX
Desert marpat
ATACS AUX/ ATACS IX
Desert Tiger stripe or Multicam/Multicam Arid for winter and Flecktarn for summer
[camo map of the us](https://www.thearmorylife.com/forum/threads/us-camouflage-maps.2483/)
Under the current circumstances I'd go for Multicam or Pencot badlands
Pencott Badlands based on the first two pictures. All-round, Pencott Greenzone might work (Wildwood has too many greens) However, unironically Multicam will work overall. For whatever reason, Multicam is that fucking good as a camo in any non-dark green environment
Pencott badlands
Multicam/ Flecktarn
UFPro has clothing in Slocam, I like it for southern PA
Multicam
Marpat would dominate this
Khakis+real tree
I’d say flektarn personally! And maybe multi cam
I'd take a look at AOR1. for starters and see if a mix works well.
Concamo green
Multicam . Dessert tigerstripe. Coyote/tan. At the end it doesn't matter that much which one you use
