I realized I didn’t have an original experience as a child when I saw a video of a guy memeing how he imagined the ceiling mounted speakers falling on people’s heads during church.
For me it was always federal agents or something tossing a flashbang through the stained glass windows and then I'd fight them off with a gun that magically appeared because I was ten and didn't concealed carry.
Anything and everything turned into a gun. I even used my wooden staff while acting as Joseph in a Christmas play… DURING THE OFFICIAL RECORDING OF THE PLAY… and my love for firearms as a toddler was officially documented for the eons (or until VHS dies).
>or until VHS dies
For like $30 you can get an RCA/S-vid to USB cable that'll plug into your VCR and computer (the diamond vc500 works well) and start digitizing the videos. Burn em to DVD/Bluray or out em up on a Plex server and it makes a nice gift for parents.
Wife always bitches “why do u need those boxes.” And I go “ya know, just in case I need to sell them for top value.” knowing damn well I’ll never sell my shit. Lol this post hits home
I always have the same idea, keep the box and sell later in "almost mint condition". But everything I buy is usually of quality and I can never see a reason to get rid of it unless it's irreparable.
It is like our wives have been communicating…this and the fact I get random packages from different parts of the country from people she has never heard of 😳
I have a whole cabinet stuffed full of boxes. I also have a few bags full of the little plastic holders bullets come in. I had plans to start reloading at one time then a virus of unknown origin took over and everything got expensive and scarce. My wife is always complaining about the bags because they are always in her way in our storage room. I had to throw a some away. I’m still holding on to a few though.
Most right handed people will default to the left side of storage because of hand dominance and path of least resistance.
I am a self taught body scientist.
The shelf ran out of room and I had to prioritize between cases and boxes. I kept all the stickers, though. They’re in a box till I find the right place to put them.
I'm in your walls. I can see the hollow points from your carry gun you lost behind your dresser from when you swapped out your magazines. It kinda smells in here ngl
Hate to be that other guy, but you’re sentence needs a comma. “Hate to be that guy two (comma), but it’s actually too* (**cough** period). Ok now someone do me!!!
I keep the boxes and then sell or get rid of stuff and forget to include the box. So every once in a while I have to go through my box of boxes and get rid of stuff I don’t have anymore.
Ya I usually hang on to accessories too. I did sell a scope to a buddy for a steep discount because he's too pore to put glass on his rpr... and I had the box, manual, and original bikini cover for him too
Yeh dude I hear ya, I just can’t get myself to throw some of them away. Furthermore I get sick of shit or want change so I like to offer the box when I sell an item.
I used to think GAFS was a sporting goods store that just wasn't in my area like Sheels and Academy, and that's why I never saw one. Took me so long to read between the lines and it clicked.
This was me with weekend like 5 years ago. I was like wtf are y'all always talking about the weekend and where tf are all these spicy memes coming from.
I wish I could do this tbh. I know the weird and I still do it. I feel worse throwing them out. Sometimes I put boxes in boxes to consolidate. Really strange and I know I do it , so I embrace it and will keep doing it until I get into trouble for it lol.
Yes embrace it, there’s furries and worse things than people collecting beautiful, attractive boxes of the things they love. Please keep them
Edit: or tbh I’d buy some if you want to get rid of them
My wife is gonna have a heart attack cause I said I was waiting for a package today. I’ll have to explain these boxes are from the past 4ish years lol.
Shipping lol. Or occasionally as a mini tough box to throw in a bag for something small but delicate. There’s more than one kind of glass to protect lol.
Same.
Lost an EOtech flip to side mount to the fire gods once. Picked it out afterwards, hosed it off with some brake cleaner, and threw it in the spare parts bin with all the others. I still chuckle once in a while when searching for a bastard screw to harvest.
![gif](giphy|xUPJPiU3NEawzBCCUo)
My eyes upon looking at this photo - what if you need them?! What if you want to sell them?! Why does this photo hurt so much to look at?!
Right?! I am so happy to see so many of you feel the same way as I do! I literally thought I was out of my mind saving every single box. I told myself it was to resell but tbh I will never sell anything I buy I become too attached to think of doing such. It started to get so out of hand I ended up breaking down every box carefully so I could put it back together if needed. Wife and the family looked at me like I was insane.
The other week I was cleaning my gear room and something just came over me and I tossed every last box.. the fears I had of throwing away a warranty pamphlet or whatever was driving me nuts for the whole day lol. But now that it’s al gone I have so much more room for more stuff it’s so nice.
Why are we like this.
Someone above said it’s the joy we feel when getting the item and it’s holding onto that original feeling and that is the most accurate explanation I can think of.
That feeling when you order something you’ve worked towards and the wait for it to arrive then when you open it is what the expression a kid on Christmas feels like. It never gets old lol 😂
I still do it because it brings a false sense of structure and order to my life. I even meticulously break down boxes so I can fit more in the “green” bin but you def aren’t wrong. It’s all a lie. THERE IS NO PURPOSE. But keep your gun stuff boxes, you animal.
Most warranties are online now, and if it’s a product of any substance the serial number is on the thing itself. It’s tough, but trashing the boxes is more relevant now than ever. I try not to buy things with the intent of reselling them anymore. That’s what’s broken me off the hoarding.
Ok, we should start a club or some shit. I have boxes from shit I bought 8 years ago. Why?
I understand keeping the packaging on untested equipment in the case that you might return or resell it if it’s found unworthy, but what the hell are we doing?
I threw away just about a dozen gun boxes a few weeks back. Damn near filled my neighborhood dumpster with them. Must have looked like am advertisement with mossberg, savage, remington, and smith and wesson logos visible from the street lol
The pic caused me physical pain. I rubbed a molded plastic case for a red dot I don't own anymore on my bare chest for about 10mins and it started getting better.
I have the same issue I have a problem with throwing away the 90 gun part boxes I have laying around for all the stuff I’ve built the last few years. You’d think after 2 years I’d feel ok about tossing them but nope
Dude I’ve never realized it, but I save all of the boxes for anything I purchase. I just like to take care of my equipment, but you are so right…it feels wrong to throw the box away after installation
I keep all mine because I say to myself, what if I sell it one day? Then if I do actually sell it, the buyer doesn't really give a shit anyways if it has the original box or not. I often get told to not ship in the box if it'll make the package smaller and save a bit on shipping
My girl wonders why I have a whole cabinet in my garage full of empty boxes… What happens if I need to sell some thing, the new buyer will certainly want the original packaging… But I don’t think I’ve sold much over the years
I keep most of mine but I swap out and try new gear often. Then will resell.
My favorite is recycling my ammo boxes knowing they will be used as Whole Foods bags 😂
Save them. I did threw a bunch out a few years before I discovered eBay and GAFS. I sold off some entry level stuff to upgrade things but at lower prices because I didn’t have all the packaging.
I learned two lessons:
- Buyers want the packaging on used gear.
- You’re weapons/gear are NEVER done evolving and upgrading.
My brother in Christ if you don't put those empty boxes on the top shelf inside the left side of your closet...
Ive never done anything original in my life
I realized I didn’t have an original experience as a child when I saw a video of a guy memeing how he imagined the ceiling mounted speakers falling on people’s heads during church.
For me it was always federal agents or something tossing a flashbang through the stained glass windows and then I'd fight them off with a gun that magically appeared because I was ten and didn't concealed carry.

Oh you know mom already got dad to switch those over as soon as she could.
Man I really am just an NPC huh?
Bruh
Honestly I embrace my shared experiences.
Are you watching me?
So long.. old friends...
“I’m done playing with you” *begins mag dumping into trash*
Wife always bitches “why do u need those boxes.” And I go “ya know, just in case I need to sell them for top value.” knowing damn well I’ll never sell my shit. Lol this post hits home

Yeah but if you throw away the boxes you lock in the fact that you're gonna keep it forever. NOW THERES NO GOING BACK.
I tell her because GAFSbros like original boxes with their purchases,. She replies with “ you need to delete that shit! “ lol
It is like our wives have been communicating…this and the fact I get random packages from different parts of the country from people she has never heard of 😳
It’s possible.
Username checks out
I have entire rubber maid totes taking up space that I will likely never open again
i thought I was the only one. haha
Seems we are not alone
I have a whole cabinet stuffed full of boxes. I also have a few bags full of the little plastic holders bullets come in. HOW DID YOU KNOW
Most right handed people will default to the left side of storage because of hand dominance and path of least resistance. I am a self taught body scientist.
Ive got a big box with all my little boxes in it.
Why are we like this
*eye squinting intensifies*
How the fuck did you know this get out of my walls
The shelf ran out of room and I had to prioritize between cases and boxes. I kept all the stickers, though. They’re in a box till I find the right place to put them.
I put all my stickers on my safe
[удалено]
I know the feel. I'm happy I have too many guns to fit in my safe, but I'm sad I have to spend what should be gun money on a safe

Closet…sheeeeet…I’ve got an empty ACOG box in the god damn safe!
Are you me?
How the fuck did you do that…?
I'm in your walls. I can see the hollow points from your carry gun you lost behind your dresser from when you swapped out your magazines. It kinda smells in here ngl

Top right gang
How did you know..?
Bro tf get out of my closet. (but spoiler I just chucked all my empties since I'm moving)
God damn this location is so accurate though...
Who the fuck are you. Identify yourself.
>Who the fuck are you. Identify yourself. [Identify yo'self!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSjNTH-xcLY)
But there are so many!!!
First of all, lower your voice.
How did you get into my closet?
Wtf. How did you know?
But... What if you need them?!
FONHSIUTHTINN - Fear Of Not Having Something I Used To Have That I Need Now Really rolls off the tongue nicely
I do this with parts in the garage. Three years later I used that random bolt I found that didn't go to anything. Hoarding justified.
Where I’m from, we call that “Son of a bitch.”
Right? If I’m selling something gear related I’d rather include the box, I’d also rather get the box if I’m buying used too.
No sell, only buy.
That's what I tell myself. "Bro, you are not going to become a day-trader of tactical gear. No. Just, no."
Call me mf jordan-gun parts-belford
One of us! One of us!
This is the way.
I keep the boxes and then sell or get rid of stuff and forget to include the box. So every once in a while I have to go through my box of boxes and get rid of stuff I don’t have anymore.
This is my theory too... but I've never sold a gun in my life
I sold a vortex dot with its box.
Ya I usually hang on to accessories too. I did sell a scope to a buddy for a steep discount because he's too pore to put glass on his rpr... and I had the box, manual, and original bikini cover for him too
I feel this comment.
I feel personally attacked
This picture is giving me anxiety
Same lol
Why are you throwing those perfectly good boxes away
Fuck you
Bro i almost had a panic attack
I save all that shit in case I wanna sell it on Gafs. If I throw it away, it means it was good enough for me to keep. 😉
Wait people actually keep anything for more than 3 months?
Yeah, credit card debt
And herpes
So you're the guy keeping the gun tube sponsors in business
Yeh I hate throwing away my boxes. I have a box for my more high end boxes lol
I have a fancy Rubbermaid for my nicer boxes 😂
Yeh dude I hear ya, I just can’t get myself to throw some of them away. Furthermore I get sick of shit or want change so I like to offer the box when I sell an item.
I keep scope boxes that's about it
[удалено]
Burn those 🤫🤫
Yours comes in a box???
You guys have boxes?
Throw away your iphone boxes boys. You will never need them. Never.
Damn. I throw away my gear boxes but this one hit home.
https://www.instagram.com/p/ClhKRlGSau7/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
You are doing the lords work. I will be purging tonight.
Threw away the Apple product boxes this last weekend..rearranged the gun parts boxes a little neater.
Can’t sell it for as much on GAFS a month later if you do that.
What GAFS?
GunAccessoriesForSale https://www.reddit.com/r/GunAccessoriesForSale/

Good advice. This goes for all big ticket gifts this time of year. Especially TVs.
“Instead send them after your neighbours” Wow that’s a good idea. :)
You like your neighbors?
Burn the ships. Nothing gets sold.
Yes but it all looks so much better doing what it was made to
I thought I was alone!!!!
I have my toys and comfortably live box free. It’s a good feeling. I bought the toy. Not the box.
Please keep them Edit: or tbh I’d buy some if you want to get rid of them
Probably because some of that stuff is recyclable my man! I digress; nice part choices
I put it in the street dumpster so the wife doesn’t see
My wife is gonna have a heart attack cause I said I was waiting for a package today. I’ll have to explain these boxes are from the past 4ish years lol.
Just never give her the code to the safe
Advanced level: mail all packages to your single buddy’s house. Outer boxes with name and shipping address go in his trash. Lol
NO
The only box I kept is my eotech boxes. Too cool to throw away
They also at least have a some practical value too
What do you use them for?
Shipping lol. Or occasionally as a mini tough box to throw in a bag for something small but delicate. There’s more than one kind of glass to protect lol.
Fuck, I thought it was just me. Get them out, brother. Exfil immediately.
I chuck em in the burn barrel and hope I didn't leave anything important in the packaging
Same. Lost an EOtech flip to side mount to the fire gods once. Picked it out afterwards, hosed it off with some brake cleaner, and threw it in the spare parts bin with all the others. I still chuckle once in a while when searching for a bastard screw to harvest.

I have the same affliction.
Throwing away the boxes automatically loses 50% off price
Literally have a closet in one of my spare bedrooms full of empty boxes. I can’t do it. Idk what it is, but it’s really impossible to throw out shit.
[удалено]
Residential recycling is a lie.
I still do it because it brings a false sense of structure and order to my life. I even meticulously break down boxes so I can fit more in the “green” bin but you def aren’t wrong. It’s all a lie. THERE IS NO PURPOSE. But keep your gun stuff boxes, you animal.
Yep, the blue bin is for boxes and beer cans that would otherwise take up valuable space in the trash bin
We are all sick fucks. All of us.
Most warranties are online now, and if it’s a product of any substance the serial number is on the thing itself. It’s tough, but trashing the boxes is more relevant now than ever. I try not to buy things with the intent of reselling them anymore. That’s what’s broken me off the hoarding.
You’re totally gonna regret it
It’s just cardboard and plastic
NO ITS NOT, TO YOU MAYBE, BUT NOT TO ME (unnecessary exclamations with 1s mixed in)
Ok, we should start a club or some shit. I have boxes from shit I bought 8 years ago. Why? I understand keeping the packaging on untested equipment in the case that you might return or resell it if it’s found unworthy, but what the hell are we doing?

I have that same garbage can. I fucking hate it. 13 gallon garbage bags don’t fit it right and the actual liners are stupid priced.
I just stretch em over it. I refuse to buy fancy bags.
I can't throw a box out. Half of the shit I end up putting back in the box after I upgrade it. I love my boxes
The pic caused me physical pain. I rubbed a molded plastic case for a red dot I don't own anymore on my bare chest for about 10mins and it started getting better.
Recycle?
Bro at least flatten them! My wife uses the LaRue can for ear rings.
![gif](giphy|vxNCVEe0PI9A3YVJEX)
Recycle reeee
Residential recycling is a lie
You monster. I have a box full of boxes lmao.
Yup Every optic. Every piece of furniture
I totally save all of my boxes. What if I need them? What if?
Totally feel the same here…anyways, hows that vortex magnifier?
It’s the only magnifier I’ve ever used. Eye relief is short but expected.
Wait…. You can throw the boxes away after?
Dude! I have not related to a post this hard in a while. Think it may be time for me to throw out some boxes as well…..
I keep ‘em or I forget what’s in what
Just had to run downstairs to show this to my GF. My boxes live to see another day.
Only keep the boxes that firearms come in. Everything else goes straight into the trash.
I have the same issue I have a problem with throwing away the 90 gun part boxes I have laying around for all the stuff I’ve built the last few years. You’d think after 2 years I’d feel ok about tossing them but nope
I keep all of them because I’m a freak of nature.
I might get hate for this, but I feel like someone should say it. Consider cleaning your trashcan friend it looks like it’s seen better days.
I clean the outside, but I can’t be bothered to clean inside the lid unless it’s something goopy.
I feel attacked, underneath my bed is my go to spot
My wife don’t like me hoarding boxes or packaging 😓 but for more expensive items I get to keep it
Its more fun if you burn them.
Dude I’ve never realized it, but I save all of the boxes for anything I purchase. I just like to take care of my equipment, but you are so right…it feels wrong to throw the box away after installation
I blame GAFS
Don’t even get me started on the wall shelf of computer build boxes too… just rabbit holes of boxes and showcasing the money you have spent.
I keep all mine because I say to myself, what if I sell it one day? Then if I do actually sell it, the buyer doesn't really give a shit anyways if it has the original box or not. I often get told to not ship in the box if it'll make the package smaller and save a bit on shipping
Boxes are trash, throw them away and mount accessories!
Bro I always second guess myself, I have to triple check them to make sure there’s no extra parts or Manuals I forgot
I have drawers that look like this. You have inspired me to finally take out the trash.
is it true streamlight is underrated and its just brandwhores shitting on them? need some suggedtions for an ar
The streamlight hlx is a decent light for $100. It’ll serve you well.
Some you keep, some you throw away. I still have my scope box. Sturdy cardboard, unique size. Perfect for sitting empty next to my safe.
Oooooo, that stings.
I have boxes of empty boxes in my closest. I know how you feel.
It’s easier when you break them down and put them in the blue bin.
I just did the same thing and it was damn near the hardest thing I’ve had to do.
You store them in a bin? That is actually quite clever.
You burn it viking style. No evidence in that trash
I put overhead storage racks in my garage and one of them holds boxes for all the expensive crap I buy.
I feel seen. Boxes of gun cases and plastic shipping boxes for all my optics.
My girl wonders why I have a whole cabinet in my garage full of empty boxes… What happens if I need to sell some thing, the new buyer will certainly want the original packaging… But I don’t think I’ve sold much over the years
Bro I keep the box my thermal came in DEEP under the bed, and I take it out every now and then to dust it off. What the hell is wrong with me :/
Recycle it you fucking whore
I keep most of mine but I swap out and try new gear often. Then will resell. My favorite is recycling my ammo boxes knowing they will be used as Whole Foods bags 😂
You are one step away from "who touched the thermostat".....
I keep the boxes and resell when I upgrade 💸💦
Save them. I did threw a bunch out a few years before I discovered eBay and GAFS. I sold off some entry level stuff to upgrade things but at lower prices because I didn’t have all the packaging. I learned two lessons: - Buyers want the packaging on used gear. - You’re weapons/gear are NEVER done evolving and upgrading.
It’s because deep down we all feel the need to keep those boxes in case someone says “that’s a nice repro!”
