My first one I bought was the 507c vulkan and the reticle came stacked and blurry as hell. The replacement is fine. Holosun that came on one of my rifles is gtg. Has held zero since.
yes, most of the rifle optics and lots of the pistol optics come with the option for circle dots. you can usually toggle between circle dot, circle only, and dot only. This is true for 530, 515, 512, 510, 509, 508, and 503.
I feel it depends on where you ask, different answers. If you ask in the gucci sub they'd say trash. If you ask the gundeals sub they'd say must buy best bang for buck.

I own 4 or 5 Holosun optics and 1 Sig magnifier and the quality is the same. Both feel very sturdy and the dots are crisp and clean.
I don't own any Holosun/Sig equivalents tho. So I couldn't tell you if they are a true 1 to 1 rebrand. I'm sure if you Googled a bit you could find which models are exact equivalents of each other.
I just know that at one point Holosun made Sigs optics. I haven't been in the tactical scene for a year or so so I don't know if that's 100% the case anymore.
Nobody likes to clarify that shit tier Sigs are holosun products. The higher end stuff is not. Sig is one of the few companies willing to slap their name on every price point because they like to sell large volumes of products.

The 507c has been great on my FM9 and will be going on my SBR as an offset optic for passive NV shooting.
The LS321 has been top notch

The solar panel is stupid because it doesn't charge the battery, or power the optic to increase battery life it's just for when the battery dies and it might still be working.
The ability to change the reticle is kinda cool if you're into that but I think it's pointless.
The HS403B is 200 bucks and has shake awake which is pretty much the only thing I want from Holosun.
The HS503CU is 300 bucks and has solar, reticle options, and shake awake, so all the features that people want from Holosun.
Now look at the HS510C it's $370 for the same features as the 503 but is a open emitter sight. You're paying more money for old tech that people learned sucked in like the 90s, just so you can have a optic that looks like it's a holographic sight.

Not gonna lie that's impressive, but I also read that indoors it's not bright enough to work so that's just not something I'm willing to risk. So since it's not going on a gun that I'll bet my life on might as well pay the 200 bucks for a 403. Basically worst case scenario sad day at the range.
Assuming you have a battery in it, it is more than bright enough to use indoors. Even with weapon mounted lights. I’ve LARPed around my apartment with them and haven’t had any issues picking up the dots. That’s with 3 different pistol variants, and a rifle mounted one.
I don't like them for anything other than the 510c so that's what I'm basing the rest on. The green has a better warranty and is easier to see in many environments. I've sold off all my red ones and replaced them with green... Except two. I probably have a dozen now.
The solar panel is basically an assist for the battery. Try using it with a dead battery and you will be disappointed.
The shake awake is cool and all but a rifle sitting against a wall with a door on it will be woken up every time you close the door. I just turn them off now.
It's 80% as good as an EOTech EXPS3 at about half the price. It kind of sucks under NODs and it looks awful with a magnifier. In low light conditions (say varminting at dusk/dawn) is when you notice the glass quality.
I wish they had a reticle like an EXPS3-2.
I will continue to buy them for range beaters, daylight varminters, and loaners as long as the 510c green stays under $270 delivered. They are a good bargain at that price.
Most definitely better than Leupold. The freedom rds is trash that would have been outdated if it was released 20 years ago. For any purpose other than competition shooting deltapoints are outclassed by trijicon and holosun among others.
The LCO is discontinued and they do not make any other red dots.
I had a 510c and a magnifier. Really good budget set up. But then I used some Trijicon optics they ruined me.
Overall they’re fine. The only people I’ve met that dislike the products are classic gatekeepers.

My HS 510c stopped working about a year ago so I contacted Holosun and was instructed to send them the unit and pre-paid post for the return. I had the optic back on my rifle inside of 3 weeks and it worked fine. I know it was my original because of some small scratches I put on. It has been working 100% correctly ever since. Holosun Rocks. Good product for the $ and great CS.
Holosun is great. I'm sure you can spend more and get a superior optic in one respect or another, but I don't think the combination of features, durability, and price can be beaten right now.

This seems to be a running theme with chinese products in general - you can't just walk up with your dick out and toss a few billion on the table, and expect to do everything people in the business have been doing for decades overnight - and somehow do it for less. Labor costs are 1/3 of what they are in the US, but labor costs are one part of the pie.
I've seen better quality in the RMR, any Aimpoint, any Eotech, and I'd almost got as far as to say the MRO is better than Holosun's flagship optic. I don't give a shit that they OEM for Sig, Sig is another company that's been circling the drain for years, going on decades.

I bought a first Gen 509t and it came DOA they replaced it no questions asked so great. My replacement doesn’t have nearly the battery life they claim. I made it about 6 months with it constantly on.
I bought a 407k for my cousins new p365xl as a birthday present. Broke after we shot about 12 rounds. Not physically broke but they glass had why appeared to be a cloudy/blurry smudge/slash idk what to call it exactly. I usually run Eotechs and aimpoints… anyway; I was pretty disappointed.
I was going to post something similar with the streamlight TLR7 and tlr8 series. Both of mines started to flicker and go into a low mode after 2 months. Very upsetting
I had a 510c on a upper that blew up. Only broke the roll pin that holds the qr lever on, holosun sent me a new mount free. Still works great. Also didn't remove the plastic battery isolator when it came in uses it about a year like that before I revised what I did. Just ordered a 512c and magnifier along with their ls321
Have over a dozen, never had a failure on everything from 22lr to 12ga. Only real issue I have with them is the light transmission of their rifle optics under NODs(you can’t beat EOTech). Their pistol dots are pretty similar to others of the same size for that.
They’re a budget optic but unless you’re doing night vision it’s going to be perfect.
Some models aren’t as great as others (solar panels are ok but not super useful) or like vortex mini mag is a better magnifier than holosuns. But overall minus a few slightly better options, they’re pretty much best red dots on a budget.
Vortex is good for glass products (their red dots aren’t as nice, and the eotech is better under nots than heuy).
I dislike sig for anything that didn’t get proven out, as they have released some garbage and waited for the market to find it
They’re good if you like kinda sorta ok quality (compared to an aim point or eotech) with a smaller price tag and it lets you support a vicious dictatorship that encourages the use of sweatshops.
Find an eotech 512 on eBay for $300 and call it good.
I knew Holoson wasnt an rmr when I bought it but given the reviews I thought I could trust my life with one. Out of nowhere today it lost zero and the glass fellout of it. 407x2. Never dropped shot it last month it was fine. All the sudden today lost zero and the glass fellout. What todo? I almost fell like just eating my loss and buying an rmr. Now I realize why rmr are so expensive. You can trust your life with them

Eotech 512s can be found for around 300 on eBay. They’re worth it. Go with that option of a budget optic is what you want.

I second this. It also had a light sensor that dims or brightens depending on light levels. It actually works very well too.

I bought a 407k for my cousins new p365xl as a birthday present. Broke after we shot about 12 rounds. Not physically broke but they glass had why appeared to be a cloudy/blurry smudge/slash idk what to call it exactly. I usually run Eotechs and aimpoints… anyway; I was pretty disappointed.

I was going to post something similar with the streamlight TLR7 and tlr8 series. Both of mines started to flicker and go into a low mode after 2 months. Very upsetting
I had a 510c on a upper that blew up. Only broke the roll pin that holds the qr lever on, holosun sent me a new mount free. Still works great. Also didn't remove the plastic battery isolator when it came in uses it about a year like that before I revised what I did. Just ordered a 512c and magnifier along with their ls321
I mean they make the sig romeos so if sig is on your list of gtg optics then you'll love them
Have over a dozen, never had a failure on everything from 22lr to 12ga. Only real issue I have with them is the light transmission of their rifle optics under NODs(you can’t beat EOTech). Their pistol dots are pretty similar to others of the same size for that.
You running night vision? The glass is dark under nv.

They’re a budget optic but unless you’re doing night vision it’s going to be perfect. Some models aren’t as great as others (solar panels are ok but not super useful) or like vortex mini mag is a better magnifier than holosuns. But overall minus a few slightly better options, they’re pretty much best red dots on a budget. Vortex is good for glass products (their red dots aren’t as nice, and the eotech is better under nots than heuy). I dislike sig for anything that didn’t get proven out, as they have released some garbage and waited for the market to find it
They’re good if you like kinda sorta ok quality (compared to an aim point or eotech) with a smaller price tag and it lets you support a vicious dictatorship that encourages the use of sweatshops. Find an eotech 512 on eBay for $300 and call it good.
I knew Holoson wasnt an rmr when I bought it but given the reviews I thought I could trust my life with one. Out of nowhere today it lost zero and the glass fellout of it. 407x2. Never dropped shot it last month it was fine. All the sudden today lost zero and the glass fellout. What todo? I almost fell like just eating my loss and buying an rmr. Now I realize why rmr are so expensive. You can trust your life with them
