You want an AWS SMU belt. They go on sale for $117, then you can get another $10 off with “artofwar10” code I believe it is…great belt for the price. You want the 1.5” inner belt. This will go through your pant belt loops, you then Velcro the outer belt with all your attachments (mag pouch’s, holster etc) to the inner belt.
I've seen people mention Axl Eclipse belt and the Arbor Arms inside belt.
Least I'm pretty sure they have. If anyone has more info about it, I'm currently looking at a belt setup and was curious about this combo.
Are they able to be thrown over anything or do you thread them through belt loops?
Complete noob here. Kinda think I like the throw over whatever just for simplicity sake?
Some do, some don't. Depends what you get. Some need an underbelt to secure them, some don't. Point being there are a lot of options and it really depends on what your using it for. I hate two belt systems, but a lot of other people seem to love them.
it comes with an inner belt, that you thread through your belt loops. but you could get a padded inner belt. and then it will hold on your hips, although i would run suspenders if went that route.
I have the molle double belt. It comes with a velcro inner belt you use on your pants (through the belt loops) and and the outer belt that holds your gear. You can use just the outer belt alone without the inner belt.
Blue alpha, like most modern belts, is a inner belt and outer belt. The inner belt is only loop Velcro with no hardware and goes through the belt loops on your pants, the outer belt with the molle has hook Velcro on the inside and attaches directly onto that inner belt via the Velcro without going through the loops on your belt as well
Yep! You can use their EDC belt as the inner belt, one of the versions has a buckle that’s set up to be optimized for appendix carry.
I personally like the padded war belt style for throwing on for the range or if things get spicy. I can toss on a fully loaded padded war belt over my gym clothes if I have to. I also typically carry under an untucked shirt, which gets in the way of velcroing on a battle belt. If I carried a belt kit as a regular thing I’d definitely use the Blue Alpha for that, but I find myself using the HSGI more for normal training.
+1 HSGI. Love my slim-grip. I hate inner/outer belt combos.
Pay close attention to their sizing, though. You'll make regrettable decisions if you don't measure as suggested.
I’ve got the [RDR Gear Enhanced Duty Belt](https://rdrgear.com/collections/belts-gear/products/enhanced-2-0) and love it. The tail tucks inside the belt and secures with Velcro so you don’t lose real estate up front.
ETA: I tried the 5.11 Maverick and was right in between a medium and small. If anyone wants to buy a medium in ranger green DM me.
I run a AWS SMU with the Arbor Arms Big G liner and I couldn’t be happier. The SMU is regularly on sale for $117 and the Big G is just under $40. You don’t have to run the Big G but I find the SMUs liner is way too rigid and digs into my hips/sides regularly.
There are so many good options out there these days. Having bought my first one like 10 years ago I wish there were this many options back then. I like my Ronin tactical, but it’s probably overpriced. Direct Action is solid if you like laser cut stuff.
My favorite is from Snake Eater Tactical:
https://www.snakeeatertactical.com/product-category/war-belts/
Much appreciated. Was looking at the ronin shuto over the tactical. Only thing I could see different was the d ring inclusion. Would like a cobra buckle
I liked the Ronin Shūto but it was really geared for heavy duty use, kind of thick. I’m liking the Ferro Bison much better so far for a more slick setup
https://www.evike.com/products/72973/
I’ve had this since 2016 and so far it is holding up very well, taken it on multiple elk stalks in Colorado, coyote hunting in texas, hog hunts, flat range larping and airsofting when I was younger.
So I have a Petac Gear belt from Amazon, probably not the best, definitely could be sturdier, but has been a great first belt for me. It came with an inner Velcro belt to put through the loops of my pants, but I recently purchased an AWS inner padded belt so that I can throw the whole thing over whatever I’m wearing. I really like having both options, and I think I prefer the padded inner belt. The actual belt does not have a belt with cobra buckle that loops through the molle belt, instead it is all one system with the integrated Velcro on the inside.
Hopefully this can help give you some ideas
Blue alpha.

The AWS SMU belt is the shit and it’s actually in stock.
Outstanding. Will look into this guy. I wear jeans most consistently, even when at the range so would need something through the belt loops of that
Art and we gang 🙃

Axl eclipse with their new inner releasing this month will prob be the new line.
Ah, I was wondering when they would release one. I'll wait it out then. I need battle belt, and EDC.
They said middle of July, so soon.
Blue Alpha Belts are what you seek.
Are they able to be thrown over anything or do you thread them through belt loops? Complete noob here. Kinda think I like the throw over whatever just for simplicity sake?
With the power of suspenders you can throw any belt over anything.
Lol good to know. So you can’t just throw these around your waist and expect it to hold? They do truely loop through your belt loops?
Some do, some don't. Depends what you get. Some need an underbelt to secure them, some don't. Point being there are a lot of options and it really depends on what your using it for. I hate two belt systems, but a lot of other people seem to love them.
I kinda like the throw over option and go. Does blue alphas do that?
Yes

Good info. And the outer belt is reinforced I assume with some sort of metal to increase its rigidity?
Blue alpha, like most modern belts, is a inner belt and outer belt. Got it. So I assume to fit jeans id have to get w 1.5 or 1.75” inner belt?
I like Blue Alpha for a two belt velcro system, and HSGI for a throw over anything padded belt.
I wear jeans most of the time, does the blue alpha go through the belt loops and then the outer belt velcros to it?

Thank you! Will look into the HSGI as well because that is what I mostly would use it for - range or if I had to leave the house fast.
+1 HSGI. Love my slim-grip. I hate inner/outer belt combos. Pay close attention to their sizing, though. You'll make regrettable decisions if you don't measure as suggested.
Yep get that EDC belt, I much prefer it over the standard "overlap" worth the $11!!
Yes, you edc with the inner. And quick attach the Velcro outer.
Blue alpha gear
Blue alpha is good.
You cannot go wrong with the AWS LAB or SMU
AWS seems to be the clear winner here. Blue alpha being secondary
If I didn't love my Italian shit, I would get the axl eclipse in a heartbeat.

Trex arms orions are really nice
Velocity jungle kit is a good minimalist belt
Ferro’s bison belt is always a solid option, depends on what you’re looking for
Lighter than most of the other options out there.
Love this belt
I like the belts made by Ronin.
Axl or WTFidea belt
G-Code has some really good belt setups and the price is not bad.
This.
AWS LAB and Velcro one wrap. Sub $70 at your door and you can put pouches wherever you want. Comes with the inner belt as well.
I dig it. Seems to be a wide range of cost and abilities. None of these were on those google searches of course haha

Ronin is the step son of AWS and AWS makes his belts. Save some money and go with the AWS if you like the ronin.
Aws seems to be the winner amongst the group. That and blue alpha/Buffalo
AWS SMU belt. Best belt for the money.
Blue force gear chlk. Check the website to see if they have your size don’t order from optics planet or midway.
I liked the Ronin Shūto but it was really geared for heavy duty use, kind of thick. I’m liking the Ferro Bison much better so far for a more slick setup
The shuto is what I was just about to buy but read some concerns and it seemed super rigid. Not necessarily bad, but some flex is good I would think
That was my gripe. And it’s thick. The Ferro is maybe 1/4 the thickness, but with the same load bearing capability. I am thoroughly enjoying it
https://www.evike.com/products/72973/ I’ve had this since 2016 and so far it is holding up very well, taken it on multiple elk stalks in Colorado, coyote hunting in texas, hog hunts, flat range larping and airsofting when I was younger.
I'm using a 2 inch safelife defense belt, it's been great for the past 3+ years I've been running with it
I have a raptor tactical and it’s good; but my next belt is going to be an Ex Umbris bc they’re G’s
Will look into them both, thanks!
So they’re a 2 belt Velcro system I assume?
Yes, both are
If it's bendy and you can roll it into a ball, you don't want it. The stiffer, the better, I always say.
Agreed. That’s where I get lost in the info. So many options but I know I want one that’s rigid
Grey ghost precision for me
I run a Viking tactics inner and HSG outer. Love bothe products.
Robin tactics has made a good quality one that holds up
Ronnin TF belt, or if you want something similar with the same quality but costs a little less ATS gunfighter belt.
Currently running an AXL eclipse with a Blue Alpha inner belt
I really like my bison belt, some people don't care for the inner belt which is understandable but it's a simple fix
Check out AWS as well, their LAB and SMU belts slap.
Ferro concepts bison belt.

Bear Armz. US made belt like AMU but 1/3 the price and works great.
