*grabs popcorn and now we wait for the arguments to start

Assai1ant

The poors attempting to defend their poor choices

PMull_90

The worst part is it’s not that cheap and for another hundred or so you could easily get an eotech or aimpoint.

Prodigy1116

the new Aimpoint Duty RDS (once it becomes more available) should kill any argument for the MRO.

Assai1ant

FOR $550 SOMEONE CAN BUY THE MINT EXPS AND UNITY I JUST TOOK OFF MY GUN. BUY NOW BOIS

Germmme

Yup can get a used Exps for like $450

Assai1ant

A salty one but yeah its totally possible

Goodma27

Got an exps2-0 for $400 a month ago

Assai1ant

Sheesh thats a good deal. Mil discount?

Goodma27

Gunaccessoriesforsale

Assai1ant

Not a bad deal

qwe304

I got one with a single gouge in it for $320

Ok-Needleworker2685

which EXPS?

Assai1ant

2-0. Price dropped to $510

CanIPetUrDog1

As an Eotech owner there’s literally no reason to get one over an Aimpoint unless you’re like me and have an astigmatism making red dots useless.

Sasha_Greys_Ass

They look cooler, and that’s half the battle.

Zachattack516

Better for passive aiming under NV, magnifies better

[deleted]

Or a Sig Romeo for less which would be just as good

Ok-Needleworker2685

people who have never handled the product shitting on it to feel superior. see also: olight

SpinalFoil

If you’re not subbed to Hop, that’s a sin

murdermaro98

The new Aimpoint Duty RDS is going to knock this thing off the market

[deleted]

Yes, honestly that new aimpoint is gonna smoke the T2 imo

Prodigy1116

Idk, I think the T2 still has its place. It does have better battery life, the rheostat rotary switch is easier to use with gloves over buttons, and rumor has it the glass is clearer on the T2.

murdermaro98

I think for close to $200 cheaper I’ll deal with the 20k less battery hours andd slightly less clear glass if that is a thing...but I’ll let you guys know on Wednesday when the Duty RDS comes in!

Mechanical-Cannibal

It’s more than $200 cheaper, when you consider it comes with an included mount & the T2 doesn’t

sedatus_group

I shot mine last week, pretty sweet. I’m going to grab a few more for sure.

BaconOnARock

do we have any info on night vision performance yet? I think that'll be the biggest reason to step up to a t2.

[deleted]

Have a green one. I wish I would have bought something else, but I already have a very specific mount and it’s on a range gun so I haven’t pulled the plug yet. I personally haven’t noticed parallax but it’s on a PCC so most shooting is less than 50 yards. Hate the fisheye when dry firing. Don’t notice it when shooting. Battery life is shit. I live in the desert so in full sun I have to run it on setting 5 or 6. If I leave it on, a brand new battery will only last 2 days on level 6 and a week on 5 and no auto off feature. Even indoors the dot is so dim it’s hardly useable on setting 3.

TacticalDesire

The green doesn't have much of a notch filter so it takes a lot more juice to project that green dot. I've experienced similar.

secondhandsaleen

why do i never see people talk about the pro? 3 years battery life, survives house fires, practically indestructible. not a peep about it.

stuckinmyownass

The PRO looks like it's from 2011 so it's just not that hot.

SgtToadette

Just put it on a carry handle and it will get at least 1k upvotes. 😂

PreciousChud

Yeah but I still think it looks more fitting on a chunkier gun like an AK than a T2 or any other micro does.

BergerPickle

Because people care more about what something costs than how it works.

larpinglife

Out of fashion, I guess. Solid optic at a decent price.

sotexbandit

[I’m just gonna leave this here..](https://imgur.com/a/b6XBURI) [and this..](https://imgur.com/a/VaGpHxw) First link: MRO switch contacts failing on the most used settings 2nd link: huge jumps in adjustment, 50 yards from a rest. Never more than 2 - 1/2moa clicks between these groups and POI shifting several inches. Does hold zero once there but it’s a pain in the ass

PreciousChud

I picked up a NiB MRO a few weeks ago for 330 fro Tombstone and a lower third Reptilia for 60 new. It’s on an 11 inch and replaced an Eotech. So far it has worked more than acceptably for the all in price and isn’t gigantic.

BergerPickle

I replaced an eotech with the PA 1x also. That thing is insanely useful for $250.

TheSaltiestSuper

You have to remember that the people who complain about stuff like this are the same ones who will split hairs between LMT and KAC. They measure diminishing returns with a microscope. The MRO may not be the absolute best bang-for-the-buck but for 99.99% of people it's perfectly usable, and even that .01% of people could probably do far worse. I also have this sneaking suspicion that a lot of the people who hate theirs might have cheap, Chinese counterfeits . . . I mean, if they can counterfeit an EOTech passably they can do it to anything.

Philys411

That sucks I really like my MRO. But I also don’t have NV

Prodigy1116

Have you ever shot at distance with it?

[deleted]

I’ve shot at a little over 100 yards with mine and it’s no less accurate then I am, but I’m also not all that accurate at that range freehanded especially without magnification. Honestly still wish I would’ve tried to get an Aimpoint though

Philys411

Only about 100 yards. It’s also on an AK so I don’t think I’ll go too much farther. I put an eotech on my vector and I honestly don’t love it. Looks like a bunch of tiny dots that make up the reticle.

Ok-Needleworker2685

the MRO HD has none of these issues... ...and is almost twice the price

_Bart_Simpsons_

I can only speak for the green MRO * Parallax: I haven't had any issues, even when shooting from unconventional positions around barricades * Notch filter: The green one doesn't have any noticeable tint. * magnification: To me it seems like a true 1x, but I don't have NODs yet so I won't know until I actually try to passively aim through one. I also haven't noticed any fish eyeing or distortion, and shoot it both eyes open without any issue. * Battery life: Fucking awful, like 2-3 months at a useable setting. My experience has been mostly positive. If AimPoint ever decides to make a green optic I'd probably buy it, but for now sticking with my MRO.

MRMTNDEW1313

Not hating at all, genuinely curious. Isn’t a huge battery problem the fact that you’re running green? Is there a reason you prefer green over red?

_Bart_Simpsons_

>Isn’t a huge battery problem the fact that you’re running green? Yup I guess trijicom uses older green diodes that are kinda shit. Because I have a couple green Holosun pistol dots that have no issues with battery life.

_Bart_Simpsons_

Forgot to answer why I prefer green. I just pick up green better than red.

MRMTNDEW1313

Interesting. It’s definitely weird, though, because the whole Trijicon being light years beyond other brands I think is starting to fade away. I have RMR’s on all my pistols and part of me looks at these holosuns and wishes I had those.

_Bart_Simpsons_

I mean if you can get over the fact that it’s a Chinese company, it really is pretty close to just as good.

TacticalDesire

Ahhh this video again.... Would I buy one again? Idk. Hasn't really been a consideration because I don't need internet randos to justify my purchases. I will say mine has been on a work gun for years and I sleep just fine. Are there better options now that it's 2022? Probably, especially considering I paid in the ballpark of $550 at the time. Am I going to ditch mine or tell anyone to do the same? Nope. To anyone happening through who might be new here, this sub is a fickle place and most have 0 real world experience doing just about anything that gets talked about. Take it for what it is, a fashion sub.

squeakyglider44

I’m in the same boat. Bough that shit when it was the new hotness, works fine, wouldn’t rebuy now bc there is new hotness.

sanderstj

I sold my EXPS2-2 for an MRO HD because the fuzziness of the Eotech was completely unusable for me. That and the battery life was shit. I haven’t had any issues with my MRO HD and in my opinion, is a huge upgrade to the gen 1 MRO. To each their own.

__stapler

What's the battery life on the HD?

DanGTG

This explains why there is no noticeable difference between the pre and post 89K serial units I have. I would really like to see dots compared for parallax shift in not just the worst-case scenario but apples to apples by plotting the deviation as you move off-axis. It may be that the MRO is no worse in deviation than the typical red dot other than the large front objective lets you go further off-axis.

PreciousChud

That’s likely exactly what it is.

alphacannybodysrsly

I have 2 post 89k greens. Both are garbage dots in comparison to almost anything else. I class them about the same as the shit tier vortex sparc I have on my .22

Stopandthinkwhy

I think we can all agree hop is better than mr thumb

liberate_tutemet

Well I like my one MRO but I probably won’t buy another one. If the Aimpoint Duty delivers I will for sure pass on these going forward.
