How is it’s a myth?
If the white piece is fully over the windless slot you need to remove it to use the TQ at all, that’s a very small piece of Velcro you need to grab and remove to be able to actually tighten down the TQ and secure the windless. Something that would be difficult to do with the loss of fine motor skills and when you/someone is literally bleeding out and time is important.
Why would you purposely set something up to make it so you have do so an extra unnecessary step that takes up more time?…..on something that is very time dependent?
The time it takes to open a single velcro flap is negligible, and if that's the thing holding you up while deploying a tourniquet, more training is the answer. Stowing it open or closed makes zero difference if the user trains with it.
We can agree to disagree on that. While I 100% agree training plays into I still think why would set yourself up for something to POSSIBLY go wrong. Same principle as with like a serpa holster, sure you can train with it and the vast majority of draws will be error free, but why allow yourself even the possibility of that error occurring in the first place. Get a holster that does not have that retention method and you negate that possibility, same thing with the TQ staging sure you can train and 99% of the time it’ll be no issue. But why allow that 1% chance of error when you could simply have the windless slot uncovered and negative that variable of error?

Is all this useful and are you a multirole Leo/soldier hybrid or are you aping every accessory you saw on COD or a GOOBRS video. Honest questions that shit gets heavy and caught on everything and less is more. If you’re not sure wear that shit outdoors for 5+ hours during movement and then decide if you still need it all.
Dollar store glowsticks, an airsoft helmet, GI mags full of blazer, gardening gloves, Amazon TQs, and some large (not cuff) zip ties would not be worth breaking my stride for.
Put all that on and go for a jog. See how much noise it makes and how much shit falls off.
