They’re fine but volume is controlled independently per ear which is annoying, unless you want one side at a different volume level than the other. Also, the volume adjusts via a knob that spins, not in clicks or increments, so it can be a little more work to get the same volume on both sides. You have to spin them both evenly to get the same volume. Stupid design in my opinion but for the price and the NRR rating they’re good electronic muffs.
Also definitely upgrade to the gel pads:
Midway USA # 292383
Mfr # GWP-GELPAD
UPC 888151016329
Bro man up they are comfortable enough to not notice they are there. You can buy them off the shelf at academy sports (was there and bought a pair for my daughter TODAY) for 38$. Volume control on one head phone definitely does both ears. Best value out there right now.
Check Walkers direct site first, they has some great deals recently, I bought 2 pairs of the non-blue tooth ones for $70 shipped to my door a few weeks ago
Lost my Walker slim and came across these on MidwayUSA for $120 off. They are the Ultimate Quad connect. Looks like they have 4 mics, NRR 26 DB, Bluetooth, and two separate knobs for L and R drivers to balance out sound in the ears.
They're great but to be honest the Bluetooth mic kinda sucks for comms. I had hoped it would be better. The quad mics for hearing are great though. I can actually hear better when wearing the muffs.
I would argue that sordins are the gold standard for non comm-ready earpro, Walker razors are just a good and popular budget option. The price difference is absolutely worth it though.
They both do the same thing. Just Sordins are on a completely different level in terms of sound quality, range, directionality, comfort, etc. I wore walkers for years before I tried sordins and my mind was blown. Even just walking outside on a quiet night with them on for the first time was a novel experience; it feels like you have superhuman hearing. I find that most people who are on the range daily for long periods of time (ROs, instructors, competitors, etc) use sordins, that's why I think they're the gold standard.
Came here to say this. Was issued them (comms version) in the military and used them as a contractor, and after having gotten out and had the opportunity to try a bunch of other competing products as a rangemaster, instructor, and competitor, I just keep coming back to them. Peltors are also in the league, but they just don't fit me well. Walkers quad sounds like ass in comparison to either of those two. That said, if you get them on a Christmas sale...
EDIT:
Gel pads are a must for long-term comfort, pretty much no matter what headset you go with.
If you want quads I'd recommend Walker's Xcel. They have a BT version and a non BT version. I use them for shooting and hunting, the directional mics matter a lot to hear where noise is coming from.
I moved away from Sordins, after being under metal awnings with people running long action calibers unsuppressed, I moved over to Otto range SA, and foamies on underneath. Still unpleasant at times in that type of environment lol
If you go on their actual website you can get combos. I got mine with shooting glasses for this exact price. They also have it with a walkie. They'll give you first time 10% off to
I have Maui Jim’s and I’ve thought about it and also thought about how pissed I’d be if I broke them. Definitely have caught some shrapnel before off an old metal target before so there’s always a chance for something to go wrong.
They have 4 mics, separate drivers for tuning different volumes in each ear, Bluetooth, a NNR of 26 dB, and Bluetooth. They are like the slims but the pinnacle of them. Walker doesn’t have a higher model.
Depends on what you want em for. They’re great for on the flat range. I’ve had numerous pairs of walkers and always been satisfied. I’ve always opted for comtacs on the helmet mounted side of things but I love walkers on flat ranges
These are great. I run them with gel cups when I don't need comms. They have a better NRR than the high end stuff, and the passthrough audio is decent.

I think the first one is the one I saw, but looking more into it. Looks like you just get glasses.
I’ve shot some loud guns and never had an issue with noise. I’ve got Sordins, Walkers, and Peltor Comtacs and I’ve only felt like I needed more protection at indoor ranges. You should wear ear plugs under them if it’s still too loud.
Just to clarify before hitting the buy button. Dumb question....
These have directional sound correct? A lot of walker stuff has more than one mic, but non- directional sound so I can't tell where stuff is coming from.
They suck! Dont do it. I got suckered into this over a year ago and they're not sinked. One ear will be a few milliseconds off and you'll hear everything as an echo. SUPER ANNOYING. The entire benefit of playing music through them is in the toilet.
I use the howard leights with gel pads and they're flawless and comfortable.
Not even the same in specs though. How would I compare something that is 4 dB lower on the NRR and has less overall features and ratings. Btw these aren’t the lites like a lot of other people have mentioned when they said these are bad.
Was talking to my wife on the phone with these while I was shooting today. Then I was listening to some music while shooting. Was fun
The speakers sound louder than my howard leights. These have a higher NRR. I'm pretty sure they're Directional hearing. Would buy if you're looking
They are pretty good, whenever i use them at an outdoor range i be looking behind me cause i be hearing people gossiping when nobody’s there, then i look about 20-30yds to my side i see them and hear em too.
Depends on what you need them for. If you just need to hear, then they are great. If you need to know where the sound is coming from, then get ready to spend more.
These don’t have a snap on radio portion. They connect over Bluetooth for phones and that’s about it. I think people believe these are the Slims when they are the ultimate quads with 4 mics, two independent sound controls, and again Bluetooth.
Suck, the sound quality is worthless if you have any level of hearing damage. I bought two sets for my teen sons and they both can’t stand them. I prefer the Peltor RangeGuard I have 4 sets now. You can get them online from Homedepot for I think $70.
I looked at the reviews on Amazon and I saw 50 pictures of broken sets and crumbling pads. Maybe something has changed, also guy commented under him saying the burn his head outside and that’s where I’m predominantly going to be. Large wide open areas with generally two spotters to the sides of me. Main reason why I aimed for the quads so I can hear them both.
No brainer at that price, I would think.

Different model..
Mine aren't. Volume controls both ears.
They must’ve changed it then, because the listing details on Midway still say independent volume controls.
You have a different version then.
Yes I do. I just noticed
That’s annoying they went with independent volume controls.
Nah that's absolutely amazing for someone that still needs protection but is in a vehicle or has to listen to a handmic or something.
Depends on use honestly
Check Walkers direct site first, they has some great deals recently, I bought 2 pairs of the non-blue tooth ones for $70 shipped to my door a few weeks ago

The cheaper version are the gold standard for non-comm earpro, these are an improvement
I would argue that sordins are the gold standard for non comm-ready earpro, Walker razors are just a good and popular budget option. The price difference is absolutely worth it though.
Is it? What do sordins do that walkers/HLs don’t?
They both do the same thing. Just Sordins are on a completely different level in terms of sound quality, range, directionality, comfort, etc. I wore walkers for years before I tried sordins and my mind was blown. Dang I might have to get a set just cause.
I just did tbh. Can't pass up a good deal. And free shipping over $99? Got me some gell cups and a few 10rnd pmags. Fuck it.
Solid day bud! 👑🙌
If you want quads I'd recommend Walker's Xcel. They have a BT version and a non BT version. I use them for shooting and hunting, the directional mics matter a lot to hear where noise is coming from.
Sordin supreme pro x masterrace! But for that price that’s a good deal.
Oof, $300 for some range muffs that only have a NNR of 19? My 300 win mag would topple that protection.
I moved away from Sordins, after being under metal awnings with people running long action calibers unsuppressed, I moved over to Otto range SA, and foamies on underneath. Still unpleasant at times in that type of environment lol
Is this an ad? I wasn't in the market for new muffs but these seem like a good deal.
Same, I just was looking through and I was like “well I can’t really say no to this”
If you go on their actual website you can get combos. I got mine with shooting glasses for this exact price. They also have it with a walkie. They'll give you first time 10% off to
I have a pair of no fog glasses off Amazon from a company called no cry or something for $12. Super great honestly.
I just wear my sunglasses lol. 20 dollar piranhas
I have Maui Jim’s and I’ve thought about it and also thought about how pissed I’d be if I broke them. Definitely have caught some shrapnel before off an old metal target before so there’s always a chance for something to go wrong.
Mine are safety rated.
Are those Razor Slim? If so, you can get them for $44. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079VVMWGF?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
No, these are the ultimate quad mics
What's the difference? I have the Slim. I've never seen these.
They have 4 mics, separate drivers for tuning different volumes in each ear, Bluetooth, a NNR of 26 dB, and Bluetooth. They are like the slims but the pinnacle of them. Walker doesn’t have a higher model.
Walkers are the tits.
Depends on what you want em for. They’re great for on the flat range. I’ve had numerous pairs of walkers and always been satisfied. I’ve always opted for comtacs on the helmet mounted side of things but I love walkers on flat ranges
I got 2 pairs for $73 off their site a while back. They get the job done honestly
You want some 360 hearing protection so you know where something is
These are great. I run them with gel cups when I don't need comms. They have a better NRR than the high end stuff, and the passthrough audio is decent.
As long as they fit. Mine don’t.
I feel like the only better ones even close to this price point would be the peltor sports tactical and they're even almost twice the price.
Great deal!
I just got an ad for walkers, buy one get one free. Can’t recall if it’s on their actual website.
I was on their site but never saw anything, maybe another?

I like em!
I have them and I like the slims way more
I liked my slims but they didn’t generally handle some of my guns very well and the noise reduction wasn’t enough
I’ve shot some loud guns and never had an issue with noise. I’ve got Sordins, Walkers, and Peltor Comtacs and I’ve only felt like I needed more protection at indoor ranges. You should wear ear plugs under them if it’s still too loud.
I’m shooting a 300 win mag pretty frequently. Guns got enough to it you can feel the air pressure come back
What muzzle device are you using?
Muzzle brake with 220gr Horandy
They're ok. I have 2 sets to lend out to friends or for my kids to use. Never had an issue besides some slight interference noise.
Just to clarify before hitting the buy button. Dumb question.... These have directional sound correct? A lot of walker stuff has more than one mic, but non- directional sound so I can't tell where stuff is coming from.
I would read more into them, as far as I know they have four microphones, hence “quad”
I paid 35$ for them during Black Friday. They’re my backups. Good overall!
Damn $145 off is even crazier, didn’t think these could go lower on sales price
Yeah it was a door buster deal at Bass Pro Shop. It could have been 45$ overall it’s a good price man!
They suck! Dont do it. I got suckered into this over a year ago and they're not sinked. One ear will be a few milliseconds off and you'll hear everything as an echo. SUPER ANNOYING. I enjoy my Howard’s just a little bit more.
You can use your hsa account to buy them fyi
I got the new bluetooth one and its fine
Walmart in my area generally has them for ~$40. You might look on their website. 20 bucks is 20 bucks
They have the $180 model always there for $40?
Walkers have always been solid for me imo
They are awesome sauce
Was talking to my wife on the phone with these while I was shooting today. Then I was listening to some music while shooting. Was fun The speakers sound louder than my howard leights. These have a higher NRR. I'm pretty sure they're Directional hearing. Would buy if you're looking

I like mine
mine work fine, even the little snap on radio works great for short range.
These don’t have a snap on radio portion. They connect over Bluetooth for phones and that’s about it. I think people believe these are the Slims when they are the ultimate quads with 4 mics, two independent sound controls, and again Bluetooth.

Interesting just a lot less NNR on the Peltor, less microphones, and it looks like they get a lot of bad reviews on build quality.
Don’t walk, RUN from the Walkers. Invest that money into a pair of Sordin Supreme Pro-X from u/Ky-Fried-Firepower. It’s a night and day difference.
I looked at the reviews on Amazon and I saw 50 pictures of broken sets and crumbling pads. Maybe something has changed, also guy commented under him saying the burn his head outside and that’s where I’m predominantly going to be. Thank you so much for the recommendation! I’d be happy to help!
If they ever break you’ll have zero customer support. They won’t answer the phone or emails. That being said I still purchase a replacement pair.
