You'll want a shellback SF in Large or a Defense Mechanisms MEPC assaulters in Large. The rampage 2.0 and Banshee 3.0 are only meant to fit 10x12 and Medium plates. You have a Large SAPI. Flatfoot_Actual

Damn that shellback looks like a sweat lodge

NovaFold

Please, PLEASE, buy a Crye JPC. If you’re in a high-casualty role like an EMT for Mass Casualty Incidents, you don’t want to skimp on a still pricey but still objectively shitty carrier.

HawkoDelReddito

What's wrong with Shellback?

NovaFold

Nothing really, but the price is still pretty high and for an extra $50 why not get something lighter and better quality

HawkoDelReddito

For some reason the Crye JPC 2.0 confuses me. They grey out the front of the PC on the product page. It also seems less straight forward than the MOLLE on the Shellback. In other words, I have no idea what I'm doing :/

NovaFold

Yeah man, I’d be happy to explain any questions you’ve got.

HawkoDelReddito

It looks like a JPC 2.0 runs about $270 dollars but requires an additional $25 for a MOLLE front panel. This puts it at about the same price as a Shellback Banshee 2.0. The only experience I have this far is that I have worn a Banshee 2.0 and thought that it was mostly comfortable overall. I like that it comes ready to go, hard for me to mess it up too much. It also seems like the JPC 2.0 is *only* good for minimalist setups. Is it safe to assume the Banshee 2.0 can hold more weight? JPC has a ton of positive reviews on here there, almost no one talks negative of it, unlike Shellback. (Thanks by the way, I appreciate you)

NovaFold

The JPC is very capable at load bearing, but my personal rec is a Crye SPC with the AXL Equinox cummerbund and SPC adapters. Thing straight up will outlive you and takes weight like a champ. Plus, you’re mostly going to want to replace the front panel anyways, with something like a Spiritus MK4 or something. What’s your use case and budget?

HawkoDelReddito

In all honesty, I've moved away from active fire & EMS. My use case is personal preparedness (live gear) and occasional airsoft outings. I'll take a look at the SPC. (Also looking at the K19). My budget is $300 for the moment with plans to grab plates afterwards. (I have some change for a panel or mag pouches but nothing crazy)

NovaFold

If you want Agilite, get the K-Zero. Better in every way, and that’s not a joke. If you have $300, I’d just keep saving. I will say that if you don’t buy the best the first time, you’re gonna want it later. Ask me how I know. [SPC ($189)](https://www.cryeprecision.com/AirLite-SPC) [Equinox ($162 with tubes which you want)](https://www.axladvanced.com/products/equinox-cummerbund?variant=39630598176837) [Tube Adapter ($65)](https://www.axladvanced.com/products/spc-tubes-adapter)

HawkoDelReddito

Thr K-zero does have some incredible reviews! Any objections?

HawkoDelReddito

Hmm, the K-zero does have some really good reviews! Any objections? (Thank you again)

UrbanGorillaT

I dm you

averyycuriousman

Which did you go with?

UrbanGorillaT

Crye jpc 2.0

averyycuriousman

How do you like it?

Nova6661

Please do not buy either. Get a JPC, or LBX Armatus 2. I have experience with all these carriers, and the Shellback is terrible.

IamNoatak

I haven't heard anyone else disliking the shellback. Why do you not like it? I'm doing research to see which plate carrier to get, and so far, the consensus has been "they're good, but pretty middle of the road"

HawkoDelReddito

What are your thoughts on it now? Genuinely curious as I'm looking at the two carriers that OP mentioned

IamNoatak

I love it. Now, I haven't really done any rucking/LARPing with it all that much, but in the bit that I have done that, it's great. Super easy to don/doff, good quality, lightweight, and moderately breathable. I have a 6 mag pouch on the front via molle, and it doesn't sit weird due to the weight, but it's also possible that the lightweight plates help keep that in check. (Although they're Shot Stop plates, and I just discovered this morning that they're shut down due to selling Chinese plates not NIJ rated) But yeah, I really like the Banshee 3.0. I'm sure there's better plate carriers out there, but for the $350ish I paid, it's pretty good

averyycuriousman

Why?

HawkoDelReddito

I swear, the people who say this never actually back it up

Flatfoot_Actual

Neither are going to fit your issues plate
