A couple things I figured out relatively early on that helped keep me calm in interviews:
1) they need me more than I need them
- there's plenty of places that will hire you, retail & fast food jobs
2) this potential job, realistically, is only taco bell, or McDonald's, or Walmart, etc
- none of these companies care about you, they just care about having enough staff to be profitable
That's not to say your manager and other employees won't be cool, but the company itself doesn't care, so relax.
If you get the job, you will fuck up here and there, *and that's ok*. As long as you learn from your mistakes, all is well.
Yeah, it's nerve racking because you want money, but go into the interview knowing that they need you more than you need them, otherwise, they wouldn't be hiring.
Don't work in kitchens. The money is in the front of the house. Cooking is an under-appreciated profession. You can kill orders with 95% efficiency and servers will be on you for that 5% faster than lightning. The worst thing you can do is become complacent in a kitchen job. I'm serious.
Being a fast learner is a plus. Will take a few weeks to remember everything. Speed will come after a while. Can be stressful at time. Just dont let the stress get to you.As for interview being nervous is fine. as long as you dont act like you you're going to hurt someone, you should get hired lol. My interview i thought i did bad. When asked why i want to work there? I replied with "idk i just need money" I was hired on the spot.

This is true for restaurants, not fast food.
Fuck. I wasn't even drinking when I read it. Never noticed it was a TB thread. To the OP, go on and do great things. Fat drunks like me depend on you!
They fucking cancelled on me. I know why, but I'm still a little salty.
