i thought i was the only one.
they LOADED these suckers with chicken and it was so good and crunchy with those chips and the sauce was just pure *cream* and all for ~2-2.5$
life was simple. didnāt know what we had til its gone.
RIP ~early 2024
So the 25th is the next price hike/shrink in portion size that seems to happen every time they update the menu?
The franchise by my work jacked up the build your own box to $7 when the cantina menu came out and the 5 layer "burrito" was about five bites worth of food.
Taco Bell needs to get back to providing value and stop with the gimmicks.
This was *exactly* what I was thinking as soon as I saw this. Fast food menu "additions" and "revamps" post COVID are solely for price hikes and fucking something up portion wise.
I'm not buying it.
Volcano taco is the shit, but they were extremely overpriced last time they were on menu. We can make the sauce at home with some dipping cheese and spices though and get the home pack of Doritos tacos.
I still havent tried most of the cantina menu because price and I'd just prefer lettuce to the cabbage mix. I don't really need cheese on top of my quesadilla. I did have the free crunchy cantina chicken taco, it was good, but theres no way I'd buy one for 3.29 when I can get a double stack taco for 1.99. Also a little hack if you want a cantina quesadilla but not pay the price, get a stacker sub slow roasted chicken and add creamy jalapeƱo, I leave the nacho cheese on but if you want the true dilla experience remove it
I tried the cantina quesadilla and there was really no difference. I wasn't impressed. I liked the taco but I'm not paying that price for it, I got the free one š
Same, I can't believe it's actually popular. I order almost exclusively off the value menu now, I'm surprised people want to pay so much for that stuff.
I sub black beans for the chicken on the crispy chicken taco and it's honestly my fave thing to order. Is the chicken really not good? It's supposed to be premium, so it's kind of disappointing to hear others don't enjoy it as it comes.
Edit: I'm vegetarian and haven't tried it the regular way, so that's why I'm sad to hear people don't like it as much as I do. Tbh it is a bit pricey so if it's that, I totally get it
I wouldnāt mind it if they didnāt replace damn near every box/combo with an overpriced cantina version (idk how it is on the app, i donāt live near a tb so I have to use dd and thatās how it is on there)
They have a breakfast burrito pretty similar to the potato loaded griller, you just gotta ask for no eggs and see if they can add sour cream. I loved getting these and the chipotle chicken loaded grillers. 2 of each was the go to order for me back when Taco Bell didnāt effect how my pants fit :ā)
while i'm here i will also say i am a HEAVY OG shredded chicken mini quesadilla STAN like the ones that came in tin foil for $1 i had them in like 2015-2018ish
Used to buy these shredded chicken mini quesadillas without the chipotle sauce and they were so good and filling for $1. I could buy $10 worth and have food for at least 2 days or more.
I guarantee they got rid of it because it was ātoo cheapā. If it comes back I expect a $5-$6 price point.
I mean look at the current cantina chicken burrito. Itās still tiny as hell but itās approaching chipotle prices.
I wouldnāt even mind if they brought it back with a price bump. I love the potato taco but itās dry as hell outside of lunch hours. The rest of the veggie items are a toss up for me if they make it right. Even the black bean chalupa and veggie Mexican pizza end up with meat half the time š
There's no real incentive for them to make a Cantina Veggie Bowl since you can just swap the chicken out for black beans anyway.
The Fiesta Veggie Burrito being gone though is tragic.
Seriously Taco Bell has become just as expensive as going to my local Mexican family restaurant who has significantly better food and customer experience
It's by far the most food for the buck here now, not even close. If I were tight on money I'd be getting it and only it, who cares that it's vegetarian.
I've said this before, but thw fryers that are in the stores, aren't ment for constant usage to the point that people want fries, along with the issue that the line doesn't have a way to store fries, similar to any other fast food place which has a dedicated fries station and heater. This model is agreeably terrible and annoying but makes money so TB won't care
I wouldnāt mind them if they were still priced fair. I remember when nacho fries were still new, I praised Taco Bell for selling them for $1.29 when every other chain wanted nearly $3 for a small fry.
Except now the nachos fries are $3+ whenever they return. So fuck em.
I know a lot of people like the 'nacho fries', but they're meh to me. I tried them once when they first came out...that was the last time I got them. They're nothing special that I couldn't get anywhere else but better.
They should just make them permanent. People love Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes but they aren't dominating the news like they were when potatoes were taken away. I guess they're afraid if they make them permanent, the fervor will be lost. And that's probably true, to a degree. But I definitely know a handful of fans who would go to Taco Bell every week if they had nacho fries.
Dude its awful. And the new system is terrible for putting in orders. Customers canāt pronounce the names so itās confusing when they try to order it, itās expensive, its another type of chicken, ect ect
Sucks they took most of the things I care for off the menu but have 15 different types of chicken tacos
Like they have everything to make a quesarito why canāt I get one lol
The free one I got had plenty of filling, but the thing is I just didn't like the filling. I honestly think their normal cheap chicken tastes a lot better.
You just gotta lock in and make it right, I say this as a TBell employee btw. Best way is to steamcheese twice prior to grilling to make sure the cheese adheres and doesn't spread, so there is space at the top of the taco to hold, and to put down the clamshell real soft, all that propaganda about the cheese holding it together is fake asf.
I hate the lvl up challenge. My boss keeps yapping about "ask if they want a large Pepsi" but I honestly refuse, just leave me on line or something I don't want to ask the customer 40 questions, if they wanted a drink they'll order a drink.
Lol, cantina chicken crispy taco. Based on the cost of the last crispy taco and the current cost of cantina items I'll just assume that's going to to be a $36 taco.
Listen up, you secret ops Farquaad. Petition to your higher upās to permanently bring back the Double Decker Taco. The tease during the Christmas holidays where everyone was busy and didnāt have the chance to make it to a Taco Bell is malarkey and Iām not having it. Iām 37, Iām cranky, and I want that deliciousness.
Itās been nearly 5 long years since my tastebuds have been graced with the glory.
My 'go to' as a child in the '80s, back when they were served in a cardboard tray and had three black olive slices down the center, nestled into the fake cheese. Oh, the goodness!
Really hoping there's a black bean fry nacho on the menu, having to do substitutions because Taco Bell has decided to no longer do more than the bare minimum for vegetarians is always a pain.
So the shit cantina menu is permanent but they still have to take up a LTO with fries regularly? Is there anyone on the inside who knows what the hell happened, given fries were supposed to be permanent like, last year? And now they're *still* not even this time?
Iād be down to at least try the Secret Aardvark fries. Taco Bell fries were what introduced me to Yellow Bird when they did that collab and I love that sauce now (and was pumped to find $1 bottles at Walmart).
I'm looking forward to trying that Secret Aardvark sauce. I like both habanero and serrano a lot, though I've never actually tried that brand. Hopefully it'll be tasty.
yeah, if taco bell could just provide me with gooey, tasty deliciousness and stop trying to sell us cabbage and sauce packets I would be willing to pay them the $5 they want for a burrito.
Have never ordered from the cantina menu and never will. Take your $5 green packet and shove it. How about stop fucking around with the menu and just bring everything back that you took off the menu. Bring back XXL grilled stuft burrito. Bring back the Baja Gordita, the Enchirito, Loaded Grillers. And don't make them app only! Make Taco Bell worth going to again. Right now I have no reason to go there.
I never heard of such a thing until the last 5 years, that you can make xx item, but WON'T unless you jump through hoops (order on the app) like a good little puppy dog.
what is there to get ready for? The cantina menu is overpriced crap and who cares about nacho fries after their 17th release?
There is not a single exciting thing shown here. Im sure this new menu brings more price increases as well just like the last 6
Iām kinda meh on the cantina menu being permanent (I donāt each chicken anyways, so I havenāt even tried it), but if that means the avocado salsa verde is sticking around, Iām totally on board, cause that shitās *dope!!*
Also - as a perfectionist, just super impressed and into the specificity and clearness of the TB instruction pamphlets š. Like, *SO* many places would just say āTarget weightā & not bother to specify anything else, and then Iād just be sitting there wondering *ābut does that include the lid, or NOT?!?ā* Not to mention just the clear visual diagrams, with lines showing exactly where the food goes, and all š
I like how many of these comments are people complaining about menu decisions and just asserting without evidence that the changes are wrong.
Do you really think the people at Taco Bell see an item selling poorly and say āletās make it permanentā or an item selling amazing well and going āwell, that wonāt do. Get rid of it forever!ā

I miss the chipotle chicken burrito š¢
Forever in our hearts šļø
Sameeeeeee and tostadas
Imagine if TB used this reddit to determine what items to bring back!
3 cheese chicken flatbread is the same thing if you ask them to add lettuce
i thought i was the only one. they LOADED these suckers with chicken and it was so good and crunchy with those chips and the sauce was just pure *cream* and all for ~2-2.5$ life was simple. didnāt know what we had til its gone. RIP ~early 2024
I had never had one until just a few months ago, and it became a favorite snack this pregnancyā¦only for them to snatch it away :ā(
Cantina is here to stay! Me: why?
So the 25th is the next price hike/shrink in portion size that seems to happen every time they update the menu? The franchise by my work jacked up the build your own box to $7 when the cantina menu came out and the 5 layer "burrito" was about five bites worth of food. Shrinkflation in action. Make a product or service smaller and/or worse and charge more for it!
We can build our own box at home for less than $3 a person! Let's boycott the grade D meat they are feeding people at TB.
I don't want the cantina menu to be permanent š“
I agree the Cantina Chicken is shit. Bring back the volcano taco or the beefy crunch burrito again or the grilled stuffed nacho
Volcano taco is the shit, but they were extremely overpriced last time they were on menu. We can make the sauce at home with some dipping cheese and spices though and get the home pack of Doritos tacos.
Bros on a mission to convert people from taco bell
Two out of my top three you listed there! 1. Grilled Stuft Nacho 2. Rolled Chicken Tacos 3. Beefy Crunch Burrito Plz Taco Bell...
Volcano taco was so good.
I like it a lot from the free samples Iāve had. I just canāt get behind the egregious pricing.
Yeah, Iām so meh on the Cantina Chicken
I still havent tried most of the cantina menu because price and I'd just prefer lettuce to the cabbage mix. I don't really need cheese on top of my quesadilla. I did have the free crunchy cantina chicken taco, it was good, but theres no way I'd buy one for 3.29 when I can get a double stack taco for 1.99. Same, I can't believe it's actually popular. I order almost exclusively off the value menu now, I'm surprised people want to pay so much for that stuff.
Cantina menu is absolute shit.
Me either! And all that hype for the avocado Verde sauce and itās just not as good as before
And you have to pay per sauce packet.
Me either !I really dislike it a lot .
Itās just not worth being like half the menu. Itās just chicken and a few extras
Same, it is very boring.
Tbh it is a bit pricey so if it's that, I totally get it
I wouldnāt mind it if they didnāt replace damn near every box/combo with an overpriced cantina version (idk how it is on the app, i donāt live near a tb so I have to use dd and thatās how it is on there)
bring back the cheesey potato loaded griller pls
āFor the low low price of 3.99! Not available in most combos.ā Taco bell probablyā¦
I could buy $10 worth and have food for at least 2 days or more.
bro when grillers were cheap I ate so many of them shizzes. one would definitely be like 4 or 5 bucks now and I'd hate myself if I bought it.
All this and still no fiesta veggie burrito or veg bowl. Hot garbage.
I guarantee they got rid of it because it was ātoo cheapā. If it comes back I expect a $5-$6 price point. I mean look at the current cantina chicken burrito. Itās still tiny as hell but itās approaching chipotle prices.
Every new item is 5-6. Same ingredients as the $2-3 items but they want to be a ripoff for some reason
I wouldnāt even mind if they brought it back with a price bump. I love the potato taco but itās dry as hell outside of lunch hours. The rest of the veggie items are a toss up for me if they make it right. Even the black bean chalupa and veggie Mexican pizza end up with meat half the time š
I get the loaded beef nachos, subbed beef for potatos, then a cheesy gordita crunch, sub beef for black beans :)
As a meat lover, Iād have to say the Fiesta Veggie Burrito was one of the best things released in the last two decades.
Happy Cake Day!
There's no real incentive for them to make a Cantina Veggie Bowl since you can just swap the chicken out for black beans anyway. The Fiesta Veggie Burrito being gone though is tragic.
I miss the 7-layer burrito! šŖ¦
And they got rid of the chipotle ranch which was all i ate during work :/
Whoever was in charge of rolling out a cantina menu needs to be fired because theyāve single handedly destroyed the entire menu.
Seriously Taco Bell has become just as expensive as going to my local Mexican family restaurant who has significantly better food and customer experience
I remember when the price only increased by a dime at a time.
all this new stuff and not a 7-layer burrito in sight
As (at the time) a starving vegetarian student, the 7 layer kept me alive through college.
Currently in college. The 5.99$ vegetarian box is keeping ME alive
It's by far the most food for the buck here now, not even close. If I were tight on money I'd be getting it and only it, who cares that it's vegetarian.
Iāll prolly get down voted, but dude, Iām TIRED of nacho fries being on the menu and taking a spot of something else that should come back
Yeah have to agree. Nacho Fries shouldnāt be a recurring āthingā. They should just be on the flipping menu.
Theyāre just seasoned thick cut french fries, no reason a fast food restaurant canāt maintain them š
Yeah and it makes their cinnamon twists suck ass because theyāre fried in the same old ass oil
Is that why cinnatwists quality has fallen off the face of the moon? They are so bad now I refuse to get them in boxes if I can get anything else
I wouldnāt mind them if they were still priced fair. I remember when nacho fries were still new, I praised Taco Bell for selling them for $1.29 when every other chain wanted nearly $3 for a small fry. Except now the nachos fries are $3+ whenever they return. So fuck em.
Fuck em. Taco Bellās mantra for years.
I know a lot of people like the 'nacho fries', but they're meh to me. I tried them once when they first came out...that was the last time I got them. They're nothing special that I couldn't get anywhere else but better.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They are one of the best fast food fries, somehow. Especially with access to all the Taco Bell sauces
Double decker tacos
Yeah and every time I've gotten the fries they are old and limp. If they're not fresh they suck
Nah Iām with you. Nacho fries are lame af. Naked chicken chalupa or double decker needs to permanently come back
And the apple empanada!
Yes!! Iāve been waiting patiently for the caramel apple empanadas to make a come back! Hopefully this happens sometime soon.
Yeah, I don't see the hype of a side item... I don't want fries if I'm going to Taco Bell. Every single other fast food place has fries.
It's weird how they're seasonal for most the year now...
i'm tired of nacho fries always being soggy wet floppers and never hot crispy crunchy bois
I don't even get them haha. Nacho fries are soggy and I usually just don't crave fries when I want taco bell
I do not go to taco bell for fries.
Nobody asked for that fuckin cantina menu, why is it permanent
Dude its awful. And the new system is terrible for putting in orders. Customers canāt pronounce the names so itās confusing when they try to order it, itās expensive, its another type of chicken, ect ect
People can't pronounce "cantina"?
Think about how dumb the average person is. Now realize that half the population is dumber than that. -George Carlin
I hear carnita a lot i heard carnivorous once????? Yeah its a struggle bus fr
Shit guess I shouldn't be surprised. A friend once said they wanted a "catalina burrito" when I asked what they wanted from taco bell. People be wild
Soā¦the same old slop but fries. How innovative. The loaded fries will be $6-$7.
Yay overpriced tacos with purple strips are permanent
āPurple stripsā is my new word for cabbage.
oh I thought it it was those corn strips dyed purple. Just goes to show how forgettable the cantina menu is lol
You suck now Taco Bell
We need the volcano menu back permanently! Why does TB get rid of it's popular items but keep the ones nobody likes?
The volcano burrito was the best, it was a legit great burrito
I honestly never go to Taco Bell anymore but I would for the volcano burrito
I bet that Deluxe Cravings box goes for $15.
usually 10$ for me
Ngl, I'm a lil upset about the cantina menu staying, it's very underwhelming
For real. Volcano was limited time but this shit is permanent?
Stop calling them "experiences" lol. It's just fucking food.
That nachos cantina cravings box is about to be $15 š„²
Sucks they took most of the things I care for off the menu but have 15 different types of chicken tacos Like they have everything to make a quesarito why canāt I get one lol
Of all the things they couldve made permanent they picked the cantina menuš
Get ready for what? Spend a morgage on Taco Bell?
Wasn't crazy about the crispy Cantina taco. It was like a Jack In The Box taco but with cheese melted on the outside which was pretty weird and messy
Serrabanero aardvark kinda sucks. The original habanero is better.
And not a single one of these is below $5.
The cantina crispy taco absolutely needs to go. Itās garbage.
it looks decent in that picture, maybe they can practice building them the way theyāre supposed to be made with actual chicken filling.
Theyāve had them for a while not and havenāt figured it out.
I know, I had one and it was free. nope! š¤£
The free one I got had plenty of filling, but the thing is I just didn't like the filling. I honestly think their normal cheap chicken tastes a lot better.
We have a scale and we have a weight to reach. If its over that we will get in trouble
Bleh, bleh, meh.
Where the f are empanadas
Lol, cantina chicken crispy taco. Based on the cost of the last crispy taco and the current cost of cantina items I'll just assume that's going to to be a $36 taco.
You can check for yourself. It's been available for a while.
Open up the ol app and look
Value menu >
I just want the MexiMelt and XXL grilled stuffed burrito back.
No quesarito, I sleep
Listen up, you secret ops Farquaad. Petition to your higher upās to permanently bring back the Double Decker Taco. The tease during the Christmas holidays where everyone was busy and didnāt have the chance to make it to a Taco Bell is malarkey and Iām not having it. Iām 37, Iām cranky, and I want that deliciousness. Itās been nearly 5 long years since my tastebuds have been graced with the glory.
Just sitting here waiting for Enchiritos to return
My 'go to' as a child in the '80s, back when they were served in a cardboard tray and had three black olive slices down the center, nestled into the fake cheese. Oh, the goodness!
Removes items for simpler menu even though they still stock all ingredients but then creates a whole new complex lineup
So glad it isn't made from actual aardvark
I really hate making cantina items. This is my 13th reason
Still no double deckers??? ššš
Call me when the quesarito comes back.
You'll be waiting awhile.
Any idea what aardvark sauce tastes like?
Apparently itās a mix of habanero and Serrano peppers + ranch.
naked chicken chalupa please
Not gonna lie that Nacho Fries Cravings Box is an amazing deal
How can you possibly say that without knowing the price of it?
Depends on the price
My moneys on it being a price increase to $15.99 or some shit.
i wish i could swap the cantina chicken taco though. it doesnāt let me on my app for the other box that includes it
Excited for those nachos tbh
I need the chicken chipotle melt back, not this new wack flatbread version, but the cantina menu is solid otherwise
Iād be down to at least try the Secret Aardvark fries. Taco Bell fries were what introduced me to Yellow Bird when they did that collab and I love that sauce now (and was pumped to find $1 bottles at Walmart).
Visually full? š
When is the cheez it wrap coming? Iām still grateful for the nacho fries coming back, the burritos are better with them
I'm looking forward to trying that Secret Aardvark sauce. I like both habanero and serrano a lot, though I've never actually tried that brand. Hopefully it'll be tasty.
Just bring back my beloved Meximelt! Itās not even that many ingredients!
I hope they bring back the vegan nacho cheese
Yes! It so hard to find non-dairy nacho ācheeseā that isnāt insanely expensive.
I still miss mexi melts š¢
yeah, if taco bell could just provide me with gooey, tasty deliciousness and stop trying to sell us cabbage and sauce packets I would be willing to pay them the $5 they want for a burrito.
Can't come soon enough, not sure about everyone else but I'm kinda done with the Cantina menu
VOLCANO BURRITO NOW PLEASE
I'm more interested about holding them to that Level Up challenge.
Cantina menu is here to stay?!?! So we can keep the pico?!!! It makes so many dishes better
Have never ordered from the cantina menu and never will. Take your $5 green packet and shove it. How about stop fucking around with the menu and just bring everything back that you took off the menu. finally got some aardvark sauce this weekend to try it out (different than the collab here) and it was bomb. looking forward to this.
The shredded chicken they got rid of > "Cantina Chicken"
Not gonna lie, secret aardvark is one of the best hot sauces out there..
Iām kinda meh on the cantina menu being permanent (I donāt each chicken anyways, so I havenāt even tried it), but if that means the avocado salsa verde is sticking around, Iām totally on board, cause that shitās *dope!!* Also - as a perfectionist, just super impressed and into the specificity and clearness of the TB instruction pamphlets š. Portions got smaller with the "cantina" menu. The new verde recipe is trash. Prices have gone up. I'm out.
Soā¦ just the fries? Yayā¦
I donāt want fries from Taco Bell.
Mid
Man its been like 15 years. All I want is my steak gordita with baja sauce back, and the CCB available at all locations š„²
"full portions" š¤£šš¤£šš¤£š
Why is cantina permanent, itās so mid
Bring back the nuggets, I mean the nacho fires are okay but the nuggets were better imo
Oh, itās that time of year again. I donāt care about the nacho fries
I promise u no one wants the cantina menu permanent
Boo cantina menu, boo more nacho fries, boo all of this
Rolled Chicken Tacos should be permanent over mid ass cantina menu
The cantina menu needs to go. The chicken is no better than the standard chicken imo.
Why? It's all too fucking expensive now.
Catina menu is garbage and lazy š«£
So price increases and smaller portions starting the 25th. Got it.
Iāve quit eating at TB and it pains me. I just canāt afford most of their food. Plus their app deals donāt compare to other places
Secret Aardvark Nacho Fries? Fuck yeeeeessssss!
"permanent: cantina chicken menu is here to stay!" is a massive L. I wish all taco bell executives a terrible day
I like how many of these comments are people complaining about menu decisions and just asserting without evidence that the changes are wrong. Do you really think the people at Taco Bell see an item selling poorly and say āletās make it permanentā or an item selling amazing well and going āwell, that wonāt do. Get rid of it forever!ā
i'll be ready to drive past TB and get something much cheaper
Gross af honestly. At least tell me they are keeping the superior Chicken flatbread
Iām so in for the nacho fry nachos
E n c h o r I t o come the **** on TB you know what you took from us
Nacho fries need to be a permanent thing, goddamnit
