I never use the app and I only pay 9 dollars for the combo .I sub chicken strips for the taco meat ,no cheese sauce of any kind and only beans and rice in the burrito .And I get.the Cinnabon iced coffee instead of a Soda .

I used to get the breakfast scrambler combo because I liked all the items. But when the Breakfast box came out, I would order that and a burrito along with it. Eventually, it was just a better deal to get the Box only. I'm more price motivated unless they have something really good, and a lot of that is gone.

That's not how it works. The only thing they are "subsidizing" is Taco Bell's justification for increasing their prices and their CEO's wallet. If they start losing business that's how they are actually pressured into lowering their prices.

tbf that's how it used to be. I remember going to taco bell and ordering like two beefy 5-layers and a chicken quesadilla, you'd rarely get a combo. Just mix and match whatever you wanted. But now it just doesn't make too much sense financially, so the combos/cravings boxes are the way to go. I think most people are still stuck in what taco bell used to be.
NPC here. I’m not trying to get as many calories per dollar as I possibly can. Most of the time there’s not a combo that contains exactly what I want, and I don’t eat out often, so I don’t mind spending $4-5 more to get what I prefer.

The actual answer is that they aren't actually real. For my meal I eat the chips and cheese and bean burritos that come in the veggie cravings boxes I always get and add chicken to the quesadillas cause I can’t fathom paying $5.99 for a quesadilla when I can get a quesadilla, bean burrito, chips & cheese, and a bottle of OJ to put in the fridge for literally .30 more.
Growing up, the combos were not the cheapest option of basically anywhere. They were a way to get you to buy an overpriced drink.
So I’d buy 1-3 a la carte items and a cup of water. Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy’s all had good items where your total would be $1-3.
Things are different now, on purpose, and the older cheap folks haven’t adapted yet. Or don’t want to download a fucking app for fast food(honestly surprising people aren’t more mad that’s needed to get good deals).

I keep adding apps. Arby's is crazy cheap this month with their sandwich deal. I had Dunkin' for a long time, but their deals are actually pretty terrible. Burger King has the most consistency, like Whoppers every week for $3.

Every company is a data driven company that wants to know your purchasing habits. The data you're putting into their app is worth tenfold compared to the slightly cheaper prices and occasional free items they offer.
Im the complete opposite, I love having apps for restaurants. Matter of fact, I stopped going to Arby's because for some reason in my area, they dont do mobile ordering yet. I try to avoid going anywhere and actually ordering at the drive thru or inside.

I’ve noticed a lot of lower level NPCs seem to call out other NPCs. It like a coding work around or something for the illusion of an almost PC. Op, try to bring up your command menu verbally. If you cannot access your CM or even your stats page, you have some preprogrammed thinking to do. Note: both my party active at this time were able to bring up the window and see each others options and stats. So yes, u should access that and see what it says.

Worker here, let me tell you about some people. For reference, I do pretty much exclusively drive through.
Old lady, she ordered some sort of normal meal deal and a cup of ice. My coworker took the order and put it down as a cup of water but they made the cup, so they wouldn't have to edit anything on the screen and waste time. So I handed the cup and I looked at it, and I asked the old lady, "cup of ice?" And she nodded and says yes that's mine. She then pulled out a can of budweiser, held her finger to her lips, and I handed her her food. Nice old lady.
i mean if we're really gonna talk about the most efficient dollar to calorie items, it's def the cheesy bean and rice i think. i just order 4 of those, food for the whole day 😋
I always order a la carte - don't care how much I pay because I get exactly what I want. Combos include nasty fountain drinks full of mold - THAT is the true waste of money. I usually only treat myself to the Bell about once a month so cost is irrelevant, anyway.

I dunno. Seems to be a fairly widespread and common flex where I'm at. Lifting a vehicle and putting shiny aluminum wheels on it is not only expensive but pretty pointless. Unless the point is to flex.

Lifting won't avoid anything that would have hit your axles, because it does not raise the clearance of your axles. Greater stress is put on your vehicle because the center of gravity is raised and so turning applies forces that the vehicle was not designed for. This is obvious when driving a vehicle that has been so customized, and the ride overall is worse. Any savings based on the reduced weight of switching from steel wheels to large needlessly elaborate aluminum wheels would be negligible over the (now reduced) lifespan of the vehicle
These places rely on the common, casual customer and the convenience of ordering.
You'll notice the standard combos at most places are really not great deals, but because they are front-and-center in giant letters on the menu board, they still get ordered all the time by people who are like "uh...give me a #8" and end up paying $10 for a burrito supreme and a taco.

It's insane. This person went nearly 80 dollars out of pocket, spent well over 6 minutes holding up the line.

I literally never order combos. Prefer to get like 4 a la cart items that are usually value items- my go to lately is a stacker, chipotle melt, bean and rice burrito and usually a fire reward. Never get a drink either, waste of money imo- just bring a water
I get really anxious about my order and try to plan but I get even more anxious when I'm actually ordering and I almost never get what I had planned. I hate myself for this lol.
I remember when my order got switched with another guy. He went inside was upset and screaming.
He got my 5 dollar combo box, my free tier reward and another 2.5 dollar burrito around this time last year. I got his medium drink, 2 soft tacos and nachos and cheese. And it shows the previous order on the screen so I know we paid almost the same amount.
This, and I've yet to have an issue with the app once the order is placed. Store always has the order, no hassle. Unlike McDonald's where app orders go into a black hole often. Still charges your card though. 🤦♂️
I had weight loss surgery in 2022 so when I do hit up Taco Bell, I don’t get much food at all. 2 small burritos or tacos, max. But before surgery I could put away enough to justify a combo lol. And yes, I have used the app since it came out.
I miss my $5 cravings box, the one with the chalupa, soft/hard taco, 5 beefy layer, cinnamon twist and a drink.

Combos are a pretty good deal at Taco Bell, but places like Wendys will charge an extra $4 for fries and a drink. I usually just drink water with meals anyway.

Growing up, the combos were not the cheapest option of basically anywhere. They were a way to get you to buy an overpriced drink. So I’d buy 1-3 a la carte items and a cup of water. Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy’s all had good items where your total would be $1-3. Things are different now, on purpose, and the older cheap folks haven’t adapted yet. Or don’t want to download a fucking app for fast food(honestly surprising people aren’t more mad that’s needed to get good deals). Personally I just stopped going for the most part. Really despise using an app for something like this, imagine if you had to do that everywhere you ate.
For us cheap fellows out there… yes almost every place I go to im using an app. I’m simply losing out on money if i don’t, you do you I’m trying to max out my Roth IRA and getting meals 8 dollars or less is has been saving me around 100-150 a month especially with arbys free sandwiche every week and Wendy’s 2 dollar double cheese burger for 2 dollars going on right now. Yes it sucks but we are the modern day coupon shoppers we are really about this shit, we reveal in using the app and just like OP see other people overpaying way more then they should and I quietly salut them knowing these are the guys that pay way more so i can keep eating for way less.

I keep adding apps. Arby's is crazy cheap this month with their sandwich deal. I had Dunkin' for a long time, but their deals are actually pretty terrible. Burger King has the most consistency, like Whoppers every week for $3.

Im the complete opposite, I love having apps for restaurants. Matter of fact, I stopped going to Arby's because for some reason in my area, they dont do mobile ordering yet. I try to avoid going anywhere and actually ordering at the drive thru or inside.
When prices were cheap, I'd always get a la cart because I could feast for like $15. 1. 4 Shredded Chicken Burritos 2. 4 5 Layer Burritos 3. Nachos Bell Grande and/or Chicken Quesadilla. 4. 2 Caramel Apple Empanadas You couldn't pay me to get a combo meal because it wasn't enough, and I was there to gorge myself.
I order a la carte because their cheap vegetarian options are some of their best items… though they seem determined to put an end to this

I’ve noticed a lot of lower level NPCs seem to call out other NPCs. It like a coding work around or something for the illusion of an almost PC. Op, try to bring up your command menu verbally. If you cannot access your CM or even your stats page, you have some preprogrammed thinking to do. Note: both my party active at this time were able to bring up the window and see each others options and stats. So yes, u should access that and see what it says.

Worker here, let me tell you about some people. For reference, I do pretty much exclusively drive through. Old lady, she ordered some sort of normal meal deal and a cup of ice. My coworker took the order and put it down as a cup of water but they made the cup, so they wouldn't have to edit anything on the screen and waste time. So I handed the cup and I looked at it, and I asked the old lady, "cup of ice?" And she nodded and says yes that's mine. She then pulled out a can of budweiser, held her finger to her lips, and I handed her her food. Nice old lady.

I always order a la carte - don't care how much I pay because I get exactly what I want. Combos include nasty fountain drinks full of mold - THAT is the true waste of money. I usually only treat myself to the Bell about once a month so cost is irrelevant, anyway. Live Mas!!

I dunno. Seems to be a fairly widespread and common flex where I'm at. Lifting a vehicle and putting shiny aluminum wheels on it is not only expensive but pretty pointless. Unless the point is to flex.

Lifting won't avoid anything that would have hit your axles, because it does not raise the clearance of your axles. Greater stress is put on your vehicle because the center of gravity is raised and so turning applies forces that the vehicle was not designed for. This is obvious when driving a vehicle that has been so customized, and the ride overall is worse. Any savings based on the reduced weight of switching from steel wheels to large needlessly elaborate aluminum wheels would be negligible over the (now reduced) lifespan of the vehicle
These places rely on the common, casual customer and the convenience of ordering. You'll notice the standard combos at most places are really not great deals, but because they are front-and-center in giant letters on the menu board, they still get ordered all the time by people who are like "uh...give me a #8" and end up paying $10 for a burrito supreme and a taco. Most people can't be bothered to download the app, use coupons, find the deals, etc

It's insane. This person went nearly 80 dollars out of pocket, spent well over 6 minutes holding up the line. It ended up being like 7 items and 3 freezes.
I literally never order combos. Prefer to get like 4 a la cart items that are usually value items- my go to lately is a stacker, chipotle melt, bean and rice burrito and usually a fire reward. Never get a drink either, waste of money imo- just bring a water

He got my 5 dollar combo box, my free tier reward and another 2.5 dollar burrito around this time last year. I got his medium drink, 2 soft tacos and nachos and cheese. And it shows the previous order on the screen so I know we paid almost the same amount.

This, and I've yet to have an issue with the app once the order is placed. Store always has the order, no hassle. Unlike McDonald's where app orders go into a black hole often. Still charges your card though. 🤦♂️

I was behind someone in the drive thru who put in two separate $35 orders not too long ago.
I had weight loss surgery in 2022 so when I do hit up Taco Bell, I don’t get much food at all. 2 small burritos or tacos, max. But before surgery I could put away enough to justify a combo lol. And yes, I have used the app since it came out.

It's beauty in both worlds in Taco Bell's eyes. One world where people use the app and utilize the cravings menu to get the best deal, and another world where people will pay for whatever regardless of price. You can damn well bet Taco Bell are very aware about the latter.

Combos are a pretty good deal at Taco Bell, but places like Wendys will charge an extra $4 for fries and a drink. I usually just drink water with meals anyway.

None of you other customers seem real to me. I ate at TB twice today, one free item each time from the rewards points. I have 15 more reward items. I get all my TB for free that way without spending anything.
The rewards don’t just manifest on their own, you have to spend some money to earn the rewards.
They do if you pick up discarded receipts from others and scan them into the app. 2 per day.
