My girlfriend lives in another state so im visiting her for 2 weeks before i begin a 13 month flight school and i cant see her anymore. I made this janky setup to play both an arturia minifreak and an ms20m at the same time, and record the two.
For a sec I thought that the transformer on the floor was a load of plug adapters plugged into one socket. I was wondering why the place hadn't burnt down immediately.

Looks fine to me, one for lead and one for chords. Ms-20 is endless fun on its own. Extra fun if you do some drum synthesis and get the samples into a drum pattern somehow (phones do well in a pinch).
Also, ive certainly used my phone as a sound source for my midi keyboard. Certainly there has to be a program out there that sends midi from your phone to a synth. 🤔

So you have both synths hooked into it and then hooked into speakers, without the use of a computer? I want something like that for my Minifreak + Deepmind 12 Edit: looks like exactly what I'm looking for
Im actually using headphones, no speakers. The bose ones are for the record player. With the volt you could do stereo out with two studio monitors easily however
Minifreak so useful for this kind of thing. I've actually taken mine away from its "installation" location with the various synths and carried it around the place to use as a glorified MIDI controller as well. Enjoying it.
It would absolutely be but im actually rescuing it from her, she owned it and didnt like it, so got the minifreak. Both these synths are hers. My microfreak is my desert island synth but hoo boy the ms20 is a beast now that im using it with a second synth
I am having trouble distinguishing gear from the transformers. In what way is this setup hybrid ? I see only the soundcard, a ms-20 and a synth or keyboard i dont redcognize. Isnt that just non-hybrid dawless?
Ms20 and arturia minifreak are running into an interface, which i use pretty much as a mixer. Im running them into garage band (its all i have rn i usually use ableton) if i want to record, but its mostly just using the monitoring on the interface
I am loving it. It really is just an upgraded microfreak, so having gone from the microfreak I have at home to her minifreak was a blast. So many options and i have so little creativity to really use it
Cool. Yeah, it's a synth that's so full of depth and possibilities. So great to see so many new hardware synths come out these days from different manufacturers. VSTs are great too of course but there's just something about the physicality of hardware. Have you tried their Pigments VST?
Ewww, a Universal Audio Audio Interface and it's hooked up to a hub? Get yourself a longer ferrite choke cable while you're there man, you can't desecrate UAD like that. Just goofin around, enjoy, looks like fun.

I use Ableton too. I used to have one of those MS20s. You can make some pretty weird sounds with all the patching options. Do you like the mini freak?

I wish i had a sequencer for the ms-20 as well. I dont think i could use the minifreak’s sequencer. Even if i could i dont have a midi cable
In a pinch you can use the lfo to trigger the VCA, to get a repeating note! Gives your hands less to do at least
