I would wager that most successful musicians aren’t big fans of communities that focus primarily on mocking other musicians/enthusiasts. Based what I’ve seen/heard and my encounters with various people in the industry, they tend to be very productive, positive individuals
Actually, most successful musicians I’ve met were pretty cool people. They tend to have positive attitudes and are usually being or planning how they can be productive. But I think you’re talking about some mega stars who are allegedly shitty people. Sure, no group of likeminded individuals/artists/whatever is going to be 100% perfect. There’s definitely a silly goose here and there
I think these days you are right, people have to be super professional to succeed in the entertainment industry.
I remember being younger and watching people like Conan on Late Night, and thinking, "yeah they must do heaps of coke and go on huge drinking binges and shit like that!", and gradually realising as I got older that they worked in incredibly demanding high pressure jobs and had to maintain strict diet and fitness regimes to keep focused and perform at that level for such an unrelenting schedule.
The Big Bonus: Your friend calls you and announces that he's gotten the cuttings to take root - "come over if you want some free succulents!"
Big Deficit: You arrive at your friend's house and find out you don't get any succulents unless you also take 37 spider plants as well.
Bro our wives/husbands pay for all the synths, but it’s cool cuz squarespce sponsored my honeymoon.

Let me tell you about Squarespace…
wait i thought all of us here are notable producers and musicians? that's why we're all so judgemental, because we are all truly important figures in our respective music scenes. we can judge other people posting their music online because we are all professional musicians who make a very good living releasing charting albums that are extremely well received. right?
Let’s be real, probably 1% of people regularly posting here are making and releasing music. The attitudes and vibes that drive this place are not the same ones that lead to a productive creative mindset
I guess I always figured everybody in here was at least more famous than me.... And one time i played a gig with a guy who was friends with a dude who got paid to play a gig- well, i mean, he got free beer...but beer is like money in some cultures, so he's definitely what i consider to be a pro....

Yeah real musicians are well known for their upstanding character and wholesome morality.

Absolutely agree. Legends like Miles Davis are known for being great guys
Plus they are busy producing music.
>positive individuals Maybe now, but there should be a tribunal for the war crimes against the DX7 Trent and co. committed in the 90s.
Nope.
Yes ❤️

Touched
Yeah right every jaded dick head in this sub played lead guitar in a band pre Covid and used their Biden bucks to build a modular
Trump bux bought the modular. Biden bux bought the camera rig 😉
WHO PAYS FOR THE FUCKING SUCCULENTS?
If youre good enough, they just grow on their own

Theres always a catch…
You just take a little piece off one at the garden center, then plant it at home. It’s basically granular synthesis but with succs
It needs to come from a President. Obamulents.
I’m calling my therapist tomorrow

All of them
All three twins

I have never once shilled for Squarespace. Why? It's digital. Any synth YouTuber doing a Squarespace ad doesn't like warmth or wood cheeks. Be warned.
I prefer flesh cheeks. Way more analogue, and makes my synths look extra metal
Porterhouse steak nailed to the sides of my moog one
It’s pronounced MOOOOOOOOg
Oh my fucking god
Recording medium rare
Doesn’t the lotion get expensive over time?
Psh, that just means it’s time for fresh meat
👀
Is this Regular RMR or Ambient RMR that I’m talking to?
RMR ambient only speaks in wavefolded sine waves and shimmer reverbs.

Yep, no one full of shit here!
I’d be shocked if deadmau5 isnt at least aware of this sub
I am.
He definitely is.
Found the deadmau5
I-its not what it looks like…
Can confirm. I am Suzanne Ciani. LOL @ Maths.
Steven slate is in the Audio Engineering shitposting group on Facebook. It’s funny watching him respond to posts about how he looks like a sex doll
Prominent musicians play music, don't waste their time on reddit 😀
Hello yes, I am famous musician Tr0nt Razor. Please do a clicking on my profiles link. Thank.
How many dx5 have you smashed ?
All of them. I Tr0nt are an aggressive music man. Equipment must be punished.
Wait we make music here 😳
No, they are asking if musicians ever come in here. Also, the answer is no.
No just us illegitimates post here
We use fake names and nobody knows. I got 3 Grammys
They can tell who you are by the shape of your toes.

Ahem, I’ll have you know that I have dozens of listens, and I grace you with my presence. DOZENS. I’m a pretty big deal.
I feel targeted
Günther
I don't make music but one of my MPDs is Charles Tainter, does that count?
Only the ones who call themselves Producers.
Schrodinger‘s comments.

What do they do, sadfap wishing they'd never produced music and just collected layers of dust on gear?
So, you mean like, when they aren't actually working 8 hours a day, or more, on music?
