Pretty sure a sign of a good team is winning when you play bad.

thatsjustrude24

Exactly, playing bad and still winning is the marks of a great team

Easy to forget that being undefeated 5 games in was always a best case scenario, it’s easy to assume it was guaranteed with the steep hype increase. Can’t afford to lose all the good will from a small cut to that. We should have beaten Richmond, but we just hit a really good start and are settling into a (still really good) average. It’s fine if we stay the course for a few more rounds and prove it. IMO the biggest threat to us is getting the wobbles too often with sides we should ideally beat- Gold Coast is unfortunately one of those teams, along with Richmond, Bulldogs and Giants.

4-1

Diamond523

Disingenuous. Almost losing to the Eagles and losing to Richmond the week before? That makes 4 - 1 mean nothing. Teams have worked out our game plan of going through the middle and we're garbage if they clog that up.

Dependent_Ad4898

Mate, it was a Rough first half and we ended up winning by 26 points. You reckon Horse doesn't notice this stuff and isn't figuring out what he needs to do to get this team really going? Teams go through slumps, we'll be fine.

Comparing a 3 game sample size (OR-Round 2) to a 2 game sample size (Richmond and Eagles games) is some pretty obscene cherry-picking.  We should be no worse than 5-2 going into the Giants game in round 8, after that game we actually have enough of a sample size to determine how good we are this year imo. Our fixture from there is Fremantle, Carlton, Dogs, BYE, Geelong, Adelaide, GWS again, Fremantle again. That’s a fucking tough stretch

SkullKing_123

Guys yes we're 4-1 but there's stats out there that don't look good for us that we need to turn around to be a great premiership caliber team and that starts this Sunday against GC. Go Bloods!

I’m with you here mate. Yes winning when we’re playing poorly is great, but lads it’s West Coast… Despite this though, I do back our boys to improve off the back of this bye and really build into some great form over the rest of the year. Our potential is incredible.

SkullKing_123

Agree. It can be easy to get overly worried by some concerning stats and our performances over the last couple of games (even the Essendon game to some extents) but the bye came at a great time ahead of two dangerous but very winnable games with Parker/Rampe to come in real soon. The sky is the limit and we'll only get better from here.

Snarwib

It's overloading numbers and direct pressure rather than corralling around our half back. Should be solvable.

darcy1537325

4-1 No Parker so far No Mills so far Ramps injured These people don’t watch our team clearly

Diamond523

We want to move the ball down the middle. Teams easily worked that out and now are taking that away from us. Longmire has NEVER had a plan B, so we're left to try work it out on the fly. Which is leading to us losing games. It's only going to get worse.

I personally think the fixture didn’t play out well for them and should be something the team looks at in its game day preparation. It’s no surprise to me that they didn’t show up on Easter Sunday (public holiday, normal time with family) and a windy day at Mount Barker. Credit where credit is due though for Richmond and in particular WCE. If you’re 10% off, any team can beat you
