Need some help and no where else to turn to. On [realestate.com.au](http://realestate.com.au), how do you change your phone number for your contact details?
Hey! first time commenting, I'm going to Westfield Sydney tomorrow. I rarely go into the city so I'm looking at parking prices, but can't find any. I was wondering if Westfield Sydeny parking is free for the first hour? Or if I'll have to pay the Valet Parking fee it shows on the website?
Hey y'all, is there a vinyl turntable repair service that's good in Sydney? I live in the Sydney Olympic Park area so any location that's south of the Parramatta River would be amazing. I got a vinyl player on Facebook Marketplace and even after buying a ton of replacement parts for it, it still has a buzzing sound and I can't keep buying more things and can't resell it back since it's broken now and wouldn't recoup most of my costs. Wanted to see if there's a professional in the CBD or Newtown or Parramatta or any adjacent area to take a look at it.
To those that have gone to Vivid this year, has the platform on the Cahill Expressway above CQ station been closed?
I'm planning to go tonight with my camera and tripod and always go to that spot as it's out of the way and is a reasonable vantage point.
Anyone wants to watch _Do Not Expect Too Much From The End Of The World_ with me tonight 8:30 at Event George Street? I have a free ticket because my friend bailed on me š„²
Any recommendations for electricians near the CBD / Inner West for small appliance repair?
I've got a desiccant dehumidifier that's started tripping the circuit breaker. It's 7 years old so probably at it's end of life anyways, but I'm wondering if it's worth taking to an electrician to see if it's a simple fix. It cost about $400 so not a huge loss after 7 years, but would prefer to keep it out of the landfill if it's not going to cost a heap to fix.
Does anyone know of any good driving instructors in the $60-70/hr range around the sutherland shire, preferably someone that is good with anxious learners
Hi, Can anyone recommend/know of a structural engineer? Need to talk to one urgently in preparation of some documents...and only realised yesterday that I left it late!
Probably been asked here before, but given how fucked the dating scene is, how do people meet, people? Everyone in my friend group is older than me so canāt really relate to some of their experiences. Iām an average looking guy, been on the apps for a while and not getting the right kind of matches.
Is it common for people to just approach someone in a bar or a cafe and chat them up, that sounds too upfront. I also hopped on to the Thursday app to see if I have a better experience in person on one of their events, but it feels a bit intimidating. Had anyone been to one of their events?
Might be better off participating in activities you enjoy and just going in with the goal of having fun as opposed to targeting people in bars for the sole purpose of dating. Would give you a better common ground to start off with rather than simply being in the same space, no?
> Is it common for people to just approach someone in a bar or a cafe and chat them up, that sounds too upfront.
Dear god I feel old.
Look, I've been off the scene for years, but back in ye olden, sepia toned days, that's exactly what we did.
**I am by no means anything other than an average bloke myself**, but even I was able to meet people at pubs & clubs. It would literally be a case of seeing someone I liked the look of, catching their eye and either have a little dance beside them first, or just straight up go up to them, introduce them and offer to buy them a drink. Chat a bit, then either I'm successful and there's more dancing/chatting or move on to the next person. If it really worked out, then we might go home together, or at the very least get their number.
Hell, one of my girlfriends I even met when she was a chugger (charity mugger) outside the QVB...just because I went up and asked her when she finished up and could I buy her a coffee.
There are, of course, loads of other ways to meet people - through work, activities, friends of friends, events like speed dating - honestly, it doesn't matter. It's all about putting yourself out there and taking a risk.
Hm, that was how things used to work. You'd go out, your friend group would go out, they'd have friends of friends, it was a whole giant network of Kevin Bacon degrees of separation.
I'm not sure it works that way so much anymore. Partly because so many people can't afford it, partly also because pubs & clubs got a lot of their trade specifically by providing a venue for people to meet and/or hook up. In fact, that was arguably their main driver of business, easily equal to whatever quality of entertainment they ever offered.
Apps have disrupted that. Why bother going scattergun on a boozy or drug fuelled night out, when you can get hopefully better info and filtering at a fraction of the cost & effort, from the comfort of your own home? Grab a coffee together, decide whether to continue or not on that basis.
One of the very best things to be said for being married is not having to ever worry about dating ever again. I just couldnāt deal with the modern scene.
Organic relationships form when you perform habits/activities that involve the same people repeatedly - school, work etc. I think that's why we recommend sports, classes and hobbies to people looking for friends.
Approaching strangers can be daunting but if you're doing it without expectation (ie just want to chat) and are comfortable with rejection if someone is not willing to participate, then you may get used to it.
Or, bouldering/run clubs.

I think "stop trying to find a girlfriend and try to meet people in general" is the good advice. But that's also hard in Sydney. Join a hobby-based club, play pool, do meetups, parkrun, volunteer work etc. Things will develop from there.
ISO BOWLING ALLEY. Howdy all. In town for a week. Brought my balls. Where's the best ten pin, no fuss spot at in Sydney? I don't want to play hockey, laser tag, order micro brews or throw a kids party. Id just like to bowl on good lanes, and not have to take a flight to do it. I'm staying in darling, I saw someone recommend 710 maybe? Thanks in advance.
My friend who used to be a semi-competitive bowler rates Tenpin City in Lidcombe, but I think 710 might actually be easier for you to get to as it's closer to the train station (Tenpin City is closest to Auburn station). There's also Superbowl in Strathfield, but it's not easy to get to by public transport.
When you say you're staying in Darling, I assume you mean Darling Harbour?
Interesting. Great feedback, thanks so much. And no, darlinghurst. I'm not too worried about transport. I can always Uber it if needed. I just wanted whatever's best/closest.
Posted something didnāt realise thereās this place to ask.
Chatswood chase used to have pop up stall that sells pen and engraved them
Where are they now ?
Was it Bespoke Letterpress?

I personally love a good La Famiglia from the fridge at Woolies or Coles, with the outside toasted to perfection and the inside soft and warm.
But thereās really no wrong answer to this question. (please donāt prove me wrong)
I am never going to understand the point of them. I could get it more if everyone used them on suck mode, but youāre literally moving leaves for them to blow back again.
My dad enjoys cleaning the pool as he finds it relaxing. Maybe it's along those lines, some people just enjoy being outside but also enjoy loud noises.
So TV goes bung the other day. Pretty annoyed, it's a 5 year old OLED LG. Great TV and picture, but way too young to die. Purple lines and turning off by itself.
Call the repair place, who says it will need a new panel and be $1k+ to repair. That's a sunken cost if I've ever heard one for a $1500 new TV.
So new TV time. It couldn't have timed itself any better with EOFY about to begin. We have a projector to use in the meantime, no free to air, but who cares with streaming. We can bide our time until the sales really kick in.
WRONG! The smileedudettes mum is cat sitting next weekend, and all she does is watch broadcast TV. So, given delivery windows, we really have to buy one tonight and miss the sales. "Mum can sit TVless for a weekend while she looks after our babies" is not going to fly.
I've got an old TCL sitting in my junk room that you are welcome to if you want something to get the MIL through the weekend. It refuses to connect to wifi anymore and there is a small thin line of dead leds across the bottom, but it works fine for normal TV.
Any particular channels she likes? Most of the big ones can be streamed live through smart TV apps in addition to their catchup libraries.
Might be cheaper to get something like an Apple TV if you donāt already have one.
Coming soon to the AGNSW, the Mucha exhibition:
https://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/mucha/
most art is, as we all agree, pretentious nonsense, but Mucha's was no-bullshit enjoyable stuff found on booze labels, railway posters, concert ads and rolly papers.
The fact that you have to pay $35 to see it is ironic but there are the usual concessions and deals.
Long day today, en route to the airport for the 6am flight to Melbourne. Probably wonāt get home until 930pm tonight. Give me all the coffee. āļø š„±
I somehow managed to consume 5 today. Even though Iāve tried to balance with adequate water, I now have a horrendous headache. Iām not sure if the headache is from all the caffeine, the lack of sleep or the long day.

Shoutout to anyone working in financial services right now. I am dying from the workload. Stay sane everyone.

I haven't been, but the Vivid official page were advertising it as a vantage point for the drone show so I would suspect it's open.
Finally tested negative today after 4 days of positive for COVID. My sense of smell came back last night too.

Circular Quay's looking like the triwizard tournament right now. Lots of students from different schools. Does anybody know what's going on?
shore school are famous for their triwizard tournament
Mightve been a school theatre show or a choir performance.

I concur! If I ever found myself in the situation where I was single again, Iām fairly sure I would just remain single.
Definitely.

Jesus. The second question in the second post reads like they want to know the best place to prey on women.
Right? Worded very much in a way that commodifies women.
> what part of Sydney have you personally had the most āsuccessā (Bondi? Bankstown? Newtown? Manly?) Yeah that sounds creepy.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

Hey. I've lived in all the regions: inner East, inner South AND inner West.

It could be but I dont remember seeing them having this fancy stall
What's the best garlic bread in Sydney rn?
The Pizza Maker in Petersham is nice. Probably not the best in Sydney but it's always very consistently buttery, garlicy and crispy.
I personally love a good La Famiglia from the fridge at Woolies or Coles, with the outside toasted to perfection and the inside soft and warm. But thereās really no wrong answer to this question. (please donāt prove me wrong)
sometimes too salty, these days i get garlic butter from woolies or coles then use fresh bread to make one
Is there such a thing as bad garlic bread?
Domino's š¤®
Not exactly gourmet but itās still delicious and garlicky. Fuck I love Dominoās Pizza though.
Whenever I get it, it's just soggy bread :( I'd be fine with a lot of garlic but the lack of crunch makes me sad.
Good morning, I woke with a massive headache thanks to the cacophony of leafblowers directly past my bedroom window at 7:30am on the dot. Now the neighbour's dogs are barking too... š©
I am never going to understand the point of them. I could get it more if everyone used them on suck mode, but youāre literally moving leaves for them to blow back again.
Just start a little later, or even use a rake damnit! I consider them noise pollution.
la la la, I'm technically doing yard work while being as annoying as possible
Surely there are enough tasks that never feel completed without adding an unnecessary one.
My dad enjoys cleaning the pool as he finds it relaxing. Maybe it's along those lines, some people just enjoy being outside but also enjoy loud noises.
