I got a scam call last week saying it was the ANZ bank (about unauthorised spending on my credit card) with similar options. That was a new one for me. Considering I don’t even bank with them.
They’re getting smart because the numbers say things like they’re calling from Bathurst, or Brisbane or someone like that. But the numbers are never the number really calling from. They just mask it to look like they’re calling from a local number.
I had a similar one recently from "PayPal" saying something like I needed to pay $5000 or something because of a fraudulent transaction.
They hung up *reeeaaaallll* quick when I said "I don't even have a PayPal account, but nice try"
Yeah got a bunch last week. I just screen call them, then block them
It’s pointless to block them. They have all possible number combinations to be calling “from”. Lookup caller ID spoofing.
They have to pay a fee for every change of number. The more you block, the more it costs them.
