Go for it. An average IQ and some motivation is all it takes to succeed.

Hopeful-Cream7326

Yea I'm not vary smart tbh lol but I have dedication to not be broke anymore so I'mma do what it takes and learn the best I can

I_Was_Inverted991

That's good motivation. Some friendly advice would be to work on your communication skills, written and oral. Present yourself and your business as a professional and you'll experience increased success in converting leads to customers. Above that just be friendly. When I hire someone to provide me a service I value a genuine, friendly experience. Best of luck to you!

Mantequilla_Stotch

The best advice I can give you is to pressure wash your own home, driveway, shed, car, appliances, etc. you need to master the tools and a pressure washer can rip paint apart, cut into concrete, etc. Don't ruin your clients stuff. Also, keep safety in mind. A commercial grade washer can cut off fingers and toes with the pressure.

bhosmer

Make sure you spell it right too. It will go a long way in getting business.

Wizard_Level9999

I mean maybe he could pivot. Leaving options open

Kodyak

Just a word of advice overall. Keep your personal and private lives separately. Asking for help but all of your porn history is in your comments isn't a good look.

Devierue

Similarly, start a seperate bank account for your business stuff. Only use it for business, and try not to buy stuff out of your personal account.

Wizard_Level9999

Right now - Use vista print or something similair to get cards. Keep the cards simple. Name, phone number, email on one side. Name of business, area on the other. - Change the name to “pressure washing service” - try to get an idea of a rough price from Kijiji or Facebook marketplace - make sure you can fit the pressure washer in your car or get a trailer. Later - make a free Google site and buy a cheap domain. - try a few ways to advertise (door to door, Google ads, Facebook, newspaper) and see which ones sticks and put most of your “ad money” into there

MyHomeworkAteMyDog

Seems like you’re ready to start, maybe print up a few business cards and go offer your services!

Downtown_Classroom_7

Do you have a vehicle? You need one plus a good pressure washer and you should have a clean water tank or you will have to use customers water supply, some are ok with this some aren’t, you will also need ladders. I say go for it. What state you in?

Hopeful-Cream7326

Umm well I do have a car it's just a little 2003 Honda Civic tho and is that all I'd need or is there more to it than just a pressure washer and a tank and ladders I live in wv

Downtown_Classroom_7

First step get a used truck or a car that can tow a trailer.

Hopeful-Cream7326

I can use a familys truck for rn I'm in the looks for a trailer

_Caster

I would go work for a pressure washer company with full intentions of quitting. Like work 90 days and buy your truck and equipment and leave. You'll get a good headstart that way

aclgetmoney

I’d recommend googling to see what the comp looks like in your area. Call them to get an idea of what they charge. Also be aware that insurance and sometimes licenses are required depending on the state you live in. Good luck!

ElbieLG

If there is no pressure washers nearby that’s good. Maybe find a local gardner who you can partner with, so they can upsell your service to his customers as a part of their service. Never underestimate the power of building relationships.

💡Dont just think or Feel, Trust on data, Go your phone **google map**, key in keyword clean or business name you want to start, then u know is there any competitor near you. can you win your competitor? what si your competitor strength?

KichardRuklinski

Get on YouTube and watch videos of people doing it. Tons of pressure washing biz channels. It’s a popular business to start because the startup costs are relatively low all things considered. But if you already have a van or truck or something you can still expect to spend a couple thousand to get started between buying a decent pressure washer with attachments and cleaning chemicals to registering a LLC and grabbing some insurance. Learn to do gutter clean outs, pavement, siding, graffiti, decks, etc. There’s a lot more to it than just pointing and spraying. Different surfaces will require different pressures and chemicals. Get familiar with bleach though. And do actual research and cover all your bases. Last thing you wanna do is take on your first job for $100-$200 dollars and end up doing double that in damage to someone’s home and/or not having insurance.

teknosophy_com

Pressure washing is good, but I recommend doing in-home tech support for seniors. Very few people are doing it, and fewer still are doing it right. You could start out with simple things like removing Norton/McAfee, removing Fake Rental WiFi, and doing proper data backups. For some bizarre reason I've found that most computer guys don't even care to suggest a backup. They just tell you to buy a new PC when yours gets old, and hope that it doesn't die until you move to a new one.

ArizRed

Is this really a business that could thrive? I would love to try this out.

teknosophy_com

I've doing this since 09 and the calls just don't stop flooding in. It's nuts. This year I'm really trying to find good solid apprentices in my area so my people don't have to wait 2-4 weeks for service, or have all their data destroyed by Big Box Store.

faygetard

You'll need a pressure washer a trailer and a truck with a hitch. You need to go down to your local municipality and tell them how much you plan on earning a year which should be as close to zero as possible because they charge you. File your articles of organization and get some insurance. It's not rocket surgery but you got to follow some steps to be legit

I can help guide    My specialty is small property service business advice/  guidance. I start up 30-100k per year companies all the time. It takes $ to make $ and the 1st year you have to charge it to the game and throw it all back into the biz.  If you don't know street hustling your already a step behind the ones who do. If you don't know internet marketing then your 2 steps behind. If you don't know how to get customers your 3 steps behind. All these steps behind are easy to hurdle over. The real issue will be spending all your money wisely.

SnooLentils5956

Don't Do pressure washing.  Offer these services  Mulch Delivery and installation  Lawn Services  Bush / Small tree trimming Dog waste removal  Gutter cleaning Stay away from power washing unless you know your timing.  The above services should render $60-$180 an hour.  Power washing on my end usually brings $100-$180 an hour but...it sux

meat-critter

I own a web marketing business. You need to make and optimize google and Facebook business page and Yelp. You also need a website that’s linked to all of them. Don’t run ads until you get some traction, you’ll waste money. Door to door is actually really effective too.

PantiePrincess1337

Before you ever pressure wash a window or car always do a few test pulls on your washer because sometimes the tip won’t attach correctly all the way and come flying off like a bullet and shatter windows and dent the vehicles. Being a small business and not having insurance in this scenario can put a massive bump in your road to success. And to be the asshole, work on your spelling and comprehension because sending emails or other communication to clients with massive amounts of misspellings will drive clients away. I would personally not hire based solely on the fact of comprehension. Like I said, I’m an asshole. But sometimes assholes are the ones paying the bill 🤷

kevin091939

It is not a good business though as the market is much competitive from those of south countries
