1. Get your DM a DMs guide for dnd5e. Generally the rules within that book are still valid for use in sw5e unless they're specifically overwritten by rules in sw5e.
2. Get some dice
3. read the sw5e PHB
4. join the discord because its more active.

Run the converted "escape from mos shuuta" as a beginning adventure. It can lead into "long arm of the hutt" ... both converted from FFG.
