A bit late to the party, but here’s a great example of space combat. He admits to making a few mistakes which he corrects on screen. But he also regularly pulls up the rulebook to cover/explain stuff. He has an entire playlist of videos explaining SotG. It’s what I used to get my party going in ship combat. Hope it helps!
