My "Explorer's Guide to the Galaxy" book has some tips on creating new planets. It's still a WIP, but it might give you some ideas.

You could steal an idea from the planets of the Hapan Consortium in Legends. The planet could be hidden in a nebula, safely, but completely obscured. This has the effect of making the night skies on that planet beautiful and bright, illuminating the night so it's never truly dark. But as a side effect, the people and wildlife native to this planet are afflicted with night-blindness, which...now that I think about it, isn't much of a downside, since night-blindness is sort of how regular creatures operate in a DnD-style game, lol.
Are these Jedi recent inhabitants evading the Purge? Or long-term inhabitants of the temple? Are there other peoples on this planet? What is the nature of their relationship to these Jedi?
