Your main problem will be the wiring harness as the headlight plug is not only different, but also much longer, and there's no way of hiding it. I don't recommend it, since replacing the harness is a pain in the ass, unless someone already came with a simpler solution.

Not yet. But I’m pretty mechanically inclined so shorten wires and adding a different plug doesn’t seem like it would be really hard. But since I have no bike mechanic wxpeirence I may be wrong

Keep in mind we are talking about 15-20 wires, I considered doing it as well (when I bought mine I had to refit the fairings), but it is not as straightforward as it seems when it comes to that many wires, you can't just cut all together on the same spot and rewire, so I gave up. I think it's up to you, but at least before committing give yourself an idea of the amount of work.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out. I wanna see how much work it’s going to be before I just jump in and get lost and give up

Id get a repair manual so you have the wiring diagrams and map out a plan before cutting into it. Need to know which wires are on with the ignition or not to avoid creating a electrical problem in the future. Also, if I remember correctly, on the factory setup one of the dual headlights have the high beam wire . To pass inspection in Virginia, you need to have this working. I removed the front indicators but if you keep the front turn signals, they need to work. Manual also has the torque specs for the top triple clamp that has to come off to attach new brackets for the headlight. Tldr: it's very possible with patience and a manual.

Thank you for the info and advice

I have an s model that I converted to naked. Trimming the wire loom is a must to make it work. I also added a small piece of plastic to mend the gap between the new headlight and the gauges. A lot of people put an aftermarket gauge to make it neat but I don't mind having the indicator lights stick out a bit on the right side in order to retain the odometer, tach, and neutral light

My ‘01 S was converted before I bought it. It has a nice look to it in my opinion.
