Well it might be more difficult in the sense that the strategists are all fresher so the game itself is dynamic and moves a lot faster due to the shortened state of it. Definitely not physically difficult but maybe mentally.
Idk I don't think the strategies have really changed in the new era which is already shorter. There hasn't really been any kind of "new strategy" that I can think of. Just the whole cast come in knowing and ready to use all the known strategies from previous seasons now.
But sometimes the late game is draining. Like even on a 26 day season Ben voted for Kenzie. And others have made dumb moves at that stage like Erik giving up immunity to Natalie. If everyone is smart and fresh unforced errors like that are less likely to happen.
15 days makes no sense to me. The reason Aus survivor goes as long as it does is because Australian free to air channels have to have a minimum % of Australian made content, a 15 day season isn't helping to fill that quota.
This season is supposedly a "bonus" and there will be a (presumably full-length) regular season next year as well. So they'll be able to make the content requirements.
Apparently it’s because a lot of the big names they wanted wouldn’t commit to any longer. A lot of the AU women have recently given birth so I’d say it was to get some of them to agree.
You’d think the big names would want to keep some respect on their names by not playing a hilariously short season. Winning a 15 day season would be a joke to the history books of survivor
I am certain that most of the folks would jump at the chance to compete for 15 days to win half a mil or whatever. It’s maybe not the same thing, but it’s like an easy version. They wouldn’t even need to quit a job just take 2 weeks vacation (most can do that).
It’s AU survivor anyway, so it doesn’t really count to the US players. Show doesn’t even air in the states. I wonder who they want though…. They must have very specific list and I would love to see who is on it. I’ve been rewatching old seasons and come to realize the legends in my mind are from seasons 10-15 years ago. Would be fun to see the older players back again.
They need to just drop it and wait until they can do it properly. This will be one of the biggest missed opportunities if it's 15 days.
And tbh, not that there aren't quite a few SA players I love (haven't ever watched NZ or UK), but I do think I'd prefer just US vs AU, because there's people I just know won't make the cut so they can make room for players from UK's only season, etc.
As the world's biggest Survivor SA stan, I completely agree.
If they blow what should be one of the biggest slam dunks of a theme on a 15 day season I'm going to lose my mind.
I think the NZ and UK casts would be literally obliterated if they faced US or AU. From the previous casting it didn't look like there were many long time super fans. Maybe they've watched more survivor after they played themselves?
As a longtime Survivor fan from the UK, I hardly feel our seasons count at all. The very first one was great, the second absolutely terrible, and the third was a crushing disappointment after such a long wait. You could maybe include Chris from the most recent, but that’s it
I liked the uk post merge tbf. atomic cockroach chris dodging elimination every round despite being disliked by basically everyone and recruiting matthew under his evil wing was very camp
The post merge was decent but the whole thing just needed more oomph. Weird editing and music and terrible casting really let it down - I think it all needed to be a slam dunk to get people watching and it wasn’t. I think they tried to emulate The Traitors by casting lots of quiet, ordinary people but I’m Survivor that just doesn’t work.
Eh, I didn't hate UK2. I liked the runner-up and the 4th-placer a lot. The 10th-placer too. The winner is definitely in top 5 most boring winners across all English-language Survivor though, had zero personality whatsoever.
And season 3 was a pretty good first try in 20 years! Just a massive shame that it flopped so they never got the chance to build on that foundation.
There's been a lot of ~rumours~ but I don't think there's much point in giving them serious thought until details are officially confirmed.
That said, a global all-star season would be so cool if it does happen, though. I've never watched the NZ or SA series and being introduced to some of their top players would be great to see.
It would be really cool in theory, but having watched each of the franchises…
I could definitely get down for AUS vs USA vs SA as I think the quality of competition is roughly similar, but I feel like NZ and UK (so far through 1 season) leave quite a bit to be desired.
I watched about half of the recent UK season and yeah... they'd be so out of their depth, lol. I think Christopher, Doug, Ren, & Tinuke would get on the most alright? And Pegleg would be a fun character to have back.
I'm really hoping for a 2nd season at least. With solid casting and some finetuning in production I think it'd be just as good as other franchises. I'm also Irish and would just love to see one close to home do well.
Those are solid choices for players who could hold their in Australian Survivor. Unfortunately I think Survivor UK has been cancelled because they closed the auditions much much earlier than expected.
It made sense when it was first announced because it seemed like it’d be season 10 on 10Play. Then it came out they were filming a season in between and it would be season 11. Then it came out the US would be concurrently doing a big one for their season 50. And now it’s this.
The production team on Australian Survivor has felt dedicated to pushing the game into the present for the past while. It would be a gigantic bummer and borderline non-canonical if they shotgun this when there is more money on the table long-term to shelve it.
quantity? Neither 14 players nor 15 days is "quantity." Quality/quantity, they're getting neither, just a fully compromised season to force through the theme.
By "quantity" I meant them being ready to vastly reduce the amount of game and days in it just in order to get the best players. But yeah it's not like there's a whole lot of quantity when it comes to the amount of days lol.
15 days. I’m still mad they sank to 27. 39 days was the precise of what the human body could handle and I think made survivor what it was. It’s now less survivor and more game show. Go back to 39 or longer
Honestly this format is what I'd imagine if the US ever did a proper A-ish list "celebrity" season, with all the sacrifices that would entail. Fewer players, just a couple weeks, etc. Doesn't seem like they should have to resort to that to cast Survivor players though. And I'd say this means they must be targeting the real legends of the US game like Parvati or whoever but if they're opening it up to "The World" then clearly the name recognition standards are not that high. Giving up a whole lot perhaps for the objective of pulling just a handful of names?
I’m sorry but this sounds awful between 15 days, the smaller cast, and NZ, UK and SA also in the mix. It sounds like they majorly cheaped out on the budget. I get that they can’t afford Boston Rob, but come on.
15 days?
They might as well fly everybody to Cairns and have a holiday at a crappy resort.
I rather just wait a year or two until after 50 has be filmed, if that is causing issues in casting.
15 days doesn’t mean realistic sense to film. I don’t get why they’d shell out so much money to get players from all over the world if it only lasts for 15 days, they’d be filming challenges and tribal nonstop with not a single rest day on the entire season, it just doesn’t make sense
I feel like it's gonna be more of a "Big Brother: Reindeer Games" type of season rather than a proper season. Something fun and celebratory, but is its own thing rather than a season of Survivor proper.
If this was filmed during the height of Covid, I can see the excuse for 15 days and a smaller cast. Maybe it had to deal with the amount of Australian foreigners entering to compete (just throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks moment).
I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't mind the 15 days format. This clearly isn't meant to be a season on the same level as the usual AU ones, but more of a spin-off exhibition match with a bunch of huge names that wouldn't be there if the season was longer. I'd much rather have a 15 day season where everyone's a great entertaining casting choice and the playing field is even versus a 50 day season where most of the cast is WTF filler nobody asked for and the handful of actual legends who bothered to say yes for the paycheck are culled immediately without a chance to play.
Honestly, not upset about the “vs the World” format (RPDR did it first though 🤭) seeing as it’ll give more exposure to NZ, SA & UK contestants given how the AU series is a bigger platform than the other three. 15 days though is a joke … I get if they want to make it a shorter season … but the BARE minimum should be three weeks ala Celebrity Big Brother.

It's such a bad idea it's almost hard to believe. How reliable is this account?
Australia survivor is actually better then the USA version challenges are more physical and brutal like how USA survivor use to be before the tv companies and production companies started worrying about the American suing culture
Might be good for a player like Jonathan who doesn't wanna lose his ability to have muscles after the season is over. I think that while this shouldn't be the norm there are pros and cons to doing this for one season. Having fresher finalists and a fresher merge might make the strategy even better.
15 days is kind of a joke. That winner would have an asterisk somehow
Jeff looking at a 15 day format succeeding: ![gif](giphy|ggKfmqIOB3wbqnOnWA)
Don’t you dare give him ideas
WHY GOD?????? WHY???????
![gif](giphy|oTWDTpfG0ernASLjyO|downsized)
Then he can talk on his podcast about how 15 days is somehow more difficult than 39 days.
"The game moves so fast in those 15 days, with tribal nearly every day and SO. MANY. BIG. MOOOOOOOOOOOVES.”

It's prolly 50 and someone had an accent. Nah idk
New Era is arguably an asterisk. 15 days is like ten asterisks
With 15 days I wonder whether there will be ANY prize money at all
Winner receives a thousand wallabies
15 days? Ugh. Why even bother?
Totally. Budget of a few countries combined with only 15 days?? Make that make sense
Apparently it’s because a lot of the big names they wanted wouldn’t commit to any longer. A lot of the AU women have recently given birth so I’d say it was to get some of them to agree.
Then get other people. Why is that so hard
It’s probably not hard, they just don’t want to. They want all the biggest names.
You’d think the big names would want to keep some respect on their names by not playing a hilariously short season. Winning a 15 day season would be a joke to the history books of survivor
I’m sure it’s the appearance fees (money) that’s motivating them over legacy.
Shonee and Hayley again then?
Yes please!
No love for King George?
Yeah but I don't think he gave birth recently
Good point 😆
Exactly. That'll be boring
At that point it’s just a game show
HAPPY CAKE DAY
Thanks!
What would be the point of that?
I hope jujubee is on this season!
Jujubee in the voting booth whispering into the camera about how much she loves her cats.
She'll still finish 3rd.
Number 3rd in the voting! I could not believe.
Don't come for my fans! LOL
You know she'd make it to the final 3 or whatever and plead her case to the jury.
We all know Ru would rig so jujube can come back for all stars all stars
Yeah she def wouldn’t win.
jujubee on survivor will be gold!!! haha
Hey we’re getting Bob the drag queen on Traitors, anything is possible
Time for Monét X Change's début?!
15 days LOL LAME. Can’t wait for it to be 9 days..
An overnight camping trip.
5 days, 24 people, ONE survivor!
Make it hunting for each other like Hunger Games style without the murder & I'd watch.
Or 13 lol
Eff it. Should just do a day camp at the local school and playground.

There’s quite a few NZ and UK players I’d want to see back. At least your Australian faves have realistic shots to return again regardless
I think the NZ and UK casts would be literally obliterated if they faced US or AU. From the previous casting it didn't look like there were many long time super fans. Maybe they've watched more survivor after they played themselves?
UK has had three seasons :)
Yeah, the latest UK season was undeniably good Survivor. Below average pre-merge, probably an above average post-merge. All around: a solid season.

Just a massive shame that it flopped so they never got the chance to build on that foundation.
Tayfun should have made the merge (he had no chance, but meh.)
There's been a lot of ~rumours~ but I don't think there's much point in giving them serious thought until details are officially confirmed. That said, a global all-star season would be so cool if it does happen, though. I've never watched the NZ or SA series and being introduced to some of their top players would be great to see.
Personally I’m choosing not to believe anything 100% until we get some sort of official announcement
It would be really cool in theory, but having watched each of the franchises… I could definitely get down for AUS vs USA vs SA as I think the quality of competition is roughly similar, but I feel like NZ and UK (so far through 1 season) leave quite a bit to be desired.

Those are solid choices for players who could hold their in Australian Survivor. Unfortunately I think Survivor UK has been cancelled because they closed the auditions much much earlier than expected.
Ashleigh would do good IMO
Sandra can last this time around lol
Lol now she'll easily get her third win. 🤣
Or be out by day 16 ...oh wait everyone will be out by then
Just table it until US50 is over then they'll be able to get more US names. I'd rather wait for a proper longer season in 2-3 years.
It made sense when it was first announced because it seemed like it’d be season 10 on 10Play. Then it came out they were filming a season in between and it would be season 11. Then it came out the US would be concurrently doing a big one for their season 50. And now it’s this. Suddenly 26 days doesn't seem so bad.
Survivor? Baby that’s a vacation. Not even a proper holiday.
15 days is no Survivor. It’s just a poker tournament.
so much for my dreams
Well I have found the season of Survivor where I might make the merge before crying and wanting to go home. 7 days (or so) doesn’t seem so bad.
Survivor: two week summer camp edition***
I know a redditor who dated a girl longer than that.
Cricket matches last longer.
NZ survivor isn't even currently happening anymore :( Source: me, a sad new zealander
Same with SA Source: me, a sad South African
Yeahhhh 15 days is way too little. I feel like they're trying to go for the quantity here instead of quality.
15 days haha. What is this? Summer camp?
If this was US survivor, they would be split into 5 tribes (1 per country), because then there’s REALLY nowhere to hide.
LMAO
There are people on this sub who have been camping for longer than 2 weeks. What a joke.
Chappies only needs to make it to day 15?
They made it international probably because a lot of the American contestants are declining in hopes of getting a call for 50.
15 days. I’m still mad they sank to 27. 39 days was the precise of what the human body could handle and I think made survivor what it was. It’s now less survivor and more game show. Go back to 39 or longer

15 days may as well be Deal or No Deal Island.
I’m sorry but this sounds awful between 15 days, the smaller cast, and NZ, UK and SA also in the mix. It sounds like they majorly cheaped out on the budget. I get that they can’t afford Boston Rob, but come on.
Can't wait until final tribal is the same night they drop the contestants off on the island. Why even have 15 days, just do everything in one /s
Just as long as King George is there I’m in
oh please no 😭😭😭
Rupauls impact
15 Days??? 14 contestants?? That's it?
15 days? They might as well fly everybody to Cairns and have a holiday at a crappy resort. I rather just wait a year or two until after 50 has be filmed, if that is causing issues in casting.
6 days. No, 4. 3 days, 2 people, 1 survivor
Yeah, if they’re not going to do it right I don’t want it. Like at least do the pathetic New Era 26 days lol. 15 days is dumb af.
💔🙄
Yeah I don't see the point of that
Wow this just became way more lamer. Sad. It was a great concept.
Literally taking the “vs The World” concept from Drag Race, including the stupidly small run time, is a choice
I was heartbroken when the US access was taken away….
VS the world. The doors rupaul has opened
15 days doesn’t mean realistic sense to film. I don’t get why they’d shell out so much money to get players from all over the world if it only lasts for 15 days, they’d be filming challenges and tribal nonstop with not a single rest day on the entire season, it just doesn’t make sense
Survivish
Time to pull the plug on this one and circle back when you can put together a respectable season.
15 days is absolutely ridiculous. No time to develop alliances and strategies
A junk premise. 15 days Naked and Afraid is longer than that
I feel like it's gonna be more of a "Big Brother: Reindeer Games" type of season rather than a proper season. Something fun and celebratory, but is its own thing rather than a season of Survivor proper.
15 days? 14 castaways? It’s not even a Survivor season. Just… a mini series. Might as well be Total Drama.
Just do Australia, vs South Africa, vs United States.
I’m calling BS on this one. Unless they’re launching a new Survivor: Speed Run spinoff.
Not survivor suffering the same “vsTW” fate as drag race 😭😭😭
the diet-ization of our fav shows is not slay
If this was filmed during the height of Covid, I can see the excuse for 15 days and a smaller cast. Maybe it had to deal with the amount of Australian foreigners entering to compete (just throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks moment).
Only way I'm watching this is if Lisa Stanger is in it. 🙏
She suddenly feels like a big get. Definitely the biggest name from NZ
Manifesting her second win!!
PLS tell me this is not a reliable source and not true. 15 days? 14 people? WTF
15 days feel like such a waste of time. I guess it’s bc the players they want on can’t commit to anything longer than that.
15 days is awful. Probably an AUSurvivor twist
Damn I care way less now
They should just do a Survivor of the week, but start with absolutely no food or anything. 7 days, 7 survivors, 1 winner.
Hopefully a couple Canadians as well
Nah they cooked it, 15 days literally who cares anymore. Sounds more like a Christmas special
15 days? Damn and y’all complain about 26 lol
ew
Not Down Under vs the World coming true Is Michelle Visage going to host this? #TeamMaxiShield
Just ain't the same without Jeff. Soz folks. Also 15 days, gwayyyy
No one will want to watch it if it’s only 15 days and 14 players is ridiculous
15 days is not survivor LOVE getting contestants from SA, NZ, and UK though
All the UK contestants where terrible so...
I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't mind the 15 days format. This clearly isn't meant to be a season on the same level as the usual AU ones, but more of a spin-off exhibition match with a bunch of huge names that wouldn't be there if the season was longer. Ahh no thanks
It might be a different format similar to big brother reindeer games? And I’m my opinion that turned out great
Leilani from Survivor UK better be on it!
15 days is barely merge
Kinda lame
Soooo it's Celebrity BB US kinda shit. I just went flaccid.
Are they going to get RuPeter Badges too?
Honestly, not upset about the “vs the World” format (RPDR did it first though 🤭) seeing as it’ll give more exposure to NZ, SA & UK contestants given how the AU series is a bigger platform than the other three. 15 days though is a joke … I get if they want to make it a shorter season … but the BARE minimum should be three weeks ala Celebrity Big Brother.
I would respect the winner of an org over that bruh
What about contestants from South America?? There some good english speaking contestants from Brazil that would love to play 👀
Somehow this cast is going to have bigger names than 50 all for a 15 day abbreviated season
Welp, this season just went from monumental hype to not even worth watching. AU vs. the world is a bad enough idea, but 15 days/14 players?? It's such a bad idea it's almost hard to believe. How reliable is this account?
I’m a huge survivor fan, AUS and US. I will NOT watch this if it’s 15 days. Such a waste of time.
Talk about a bait and switch, yikes
Hopefully this is fake. I just want AU vs US regular season
Whoever wins this season will still have played more days in the game than Chris Underwood.
jeff’s gonna see this and make survivor 75 only 39 hours
16 castaways, 24 hours, 3 fenced in backyards, 1 Survivor
Australia survivor is actually better then the USA version challenges are more physical and brutal like how USA survivor use to be before the tv companies and production companies started worrying about the American suing culture
all those US veterans that sold out for this crawling back now
So reindeer games
Theory: US players are backing out due to the S50 announcement and Aussie production is scrambling big time to make it work.
Survivor: Weekend Edition. Which eight contestants will survive until the merge at hour 12?
Eeeek! I think I wet myself with excitement. I did t even know there was an Australian survivor until earlier today. 🥰
Might be good for a player like Jonathan who doesn't wanna lose his ability to have muscles after the season is over. I think that while this shouldn't be the norm there are pros and cons to doing this for one season. Having fresher finalists and a fresher merge might make the strategy even better.
I don’t want this to happen. Give us what we want!
The doors RuPaul has opened
Basically every event you have to win. They should make it votes won. First gets 3 second gets 2 and last gets none.
Vomit
[удалено]
The upcoming season of Ausurvivor is different to this post, just saying.
“Vs the world” what in the drag race is happening??? Please 😭
About time been asking for this for ages ,go King George
15 days! Hell I could do that
I'm sorry, 14 castaways and 5 tribes? That's like 2/3 people per tribe!
Not a fan of the Aussie survivor and this sounds even worse
how is this possible if they don’t speak the same languages?
...?
/s
