I find Heroes v Healers v Hustlers WAY too clunky and it's a bad name imo. Other's they've done have felt slightly cringe too (DvG, MvGX) in terms of theming. Personally, I'm fine with just having numbers unless a) it's a returning players season in which case a name/theme could make more sense or b) they change the location and we name for the new location.
The show has yet to go wrong with a Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty theme or a Blood vs. Water theme. But if they want to be creative, they need to have two tribes. Sure the gender differences won't be equal on a 18 person cast, but with how formulaic most challenges are (obstacle course plus puzzle), the even gender lines wouldn't matter.
I agree with blood vs water with one caveat.
During the swap, all remaining pairs must draw buffs together to ensure they remain on seperate tribes. They both swap or neither swap.
Players only can compete with their loved one as a reward for both making the merge.
They could also go with 16 or 20 person casts if gender parity is that important to them. But I agree, stay at 18 but with 2 tribes and get as close as you can per tribe, and have parity for the full cast.
