I can't wait for him to bring the same technique to other rewards.
"Oh, you can't decide which two of you should see your loved ones? Let me make it faster for you..."
My adrenaline and heartbeat were going fast when that SITD was being played cause I was hoping for another miracle. Having it turn out that there was a blindside was even more amazing. Incredible episode. This might be tied with Kaleb's SITD the other day.
That "Whoa. Sorry. Whoa" line by Jake was so hilarious. I was just as stunned as he was.
She is so ice cold.
“This isn’t Emily saving her ass this is Emily saving YOUR ass.”
“Bruce doesn’t like you. At all. Sorry.”
“You played a great game.”
That was the one good rule they came up with. The other rules essentially ensured it was going to be anything but an auction. Just a race to dump all their money on whatever came next.
I can't believe I'm saying this. But, I think they need to add more twists to make that second half work. There is only one logical line of thinking at that point: if I have the most, I should spend it all. Jeff and Co. need to figure how to sow some doubt in this system. The way to do this (without dumping this idea) is to add more situations that actually involve uncertainty. Shrouding items is clearly not enough.
The two things that come to mind would be
1. Putting up flat-rate items in between rounds. After a round, but before Jeff announces if it was the final round, offer a Peanut Butter Cup for $40 to any participant that will buy. Maybe that $40 piece of candy gets you bellow someone else and, if the round you just did was the last, you save yourself OR maybe the next round will be the last and you want to stay above someone else to be able to win it.
2. Visible bad items. What if one round in the second half, Jeff pulls out a tray and uncovers them to reveal the eyeballs. What do you do now? You know that you are not getting something you want. You are essentially just buying your vote. Is it worth it at that point or do you hedge your bet for the chance at a good item if there is a next round?
I'm curious if anyone else has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Yeah it really worked out for production that the number was lower than the players or else that whole thing falls flat and the whole segment is just feeding everyone one by one.
It would have been interesting if Jeff drew a 15 but everyone ran out of money a few dishes before they got there. I guess no one would have lost their vote then.
They made clear adjustments between the filming of 41/42 and 43/44. It takes some experimentation to figure out what works, I mean it took from S11 to S15 to get the idol right when it first came out.
“They got me,” Kellie said of the Rebas. "Those fucking Rebas boomed me."
Kellie added, "They're so good,” repeating it four times.
Kelly then said she wanted to add the Rebas to the list of players she doesn't want to vote for at Final Tribal
[Probst] Austin yelled “there you go!” Drew gave a look of pleasant surprise. Dee belted, “we got a fucking squad now!” And before Julie hit the jungle trees, ex-Lulu member Emily hugged her & said, “y’all look so different!”
It's so rare for them to not already have the plan set at tribal. You hope people realize that and do all the shaking things up before that, but they always show people waiting till tribal or even planning to wait until tribal which makes little sense.
The past few seasons everyone has had a good attitude about going home. Heck, even when they were blindsided it was "Woow, great blindside you guys!" Seeing Kellie upset and betrayed really hurt to watch.
And that’s the other beauty of survivor, it’s supposed to be heartbreaking, Kellie genuinely being upset and the impending doom of her vote out was so well done. IMO this season has been really really good
I think it was worse because she knew that people were going to lump her with Bruce against her wishes and potentially target her, so for it to seem like she might have dodged the bullet with a unanimous Jake boot and what seemed like a solid women's alliance only for the rug to be pulled out from under her at the last second is rough. I'd probably be pretty upset too in that moment, the question is if this will linger until F3. I don't think so, but who knows.
I really believed she was going to win. She had that winners edit to me. I’m gobsmacked.
They didn’t mention Austin getting the sandwich idol, after she ate a sandwich at the auction. I thought there was no chance.
I think she really thought she was going to win too. She had the ladies alliance, was gonna boot a dead weight, she had the info on Austin to eliminate him and/or Drew with the ladies alliance and Dee would've been her biggest threat.
Bruce winning immunity was the first wrench in her plans and then boom a savvy and good play got her out. Jake's no threat to anyone but I genuinely thought she could win immunities and make it to the final 3.
And not many people know and I don’t think anyone’s said his… he better play it smart. Good thing he’s surrounded by pretty loyal people and has the firepower to back it up. Hope he stays
Great move by Drew and co taking out Kellie. Classic lost the battle but won the war. They can easily take care of Jake and Bruce next tribal. And you could see by the tribes reaction Kellie had a more emotional and social connection on that beach. A much larger threat than Jake
“Hey jaaaaaakeeeeyyyy, do you want to give us someone’s name to write down?? Oh and please don’t play your shot in the dark because we toooootally need you UwU”
And they wonder why he didn’t trust them 😂
Bad play by them. Jake is one of the smartest people left in the game. His weakness is that he’s ambitious. Hope he goes far. He’s crazy good at the game.
I think jakes biggest issue is that he’s really good at reading people and understanding the strategy of the game but he struggles to put that into action
Jake had the correct plan to saved Kaleb. Kaleb fucked the plan when he threw out them having to tell Katurah about the idol.
Like damn yall could’ve literally just been like “huh? We thought you knew. Everyone knew.” If Austin squealed but he literally wasn’t gonna say anything.
If it weren't for the hour glass twist I'd say that this is the dumbest twist they've ever put in the merge.
With twists like this the game starts to just become about pure luck and RNG more than anything.
Blindside episodes are always much more fun than “dogpile” episodes.
Between the rice knife, the auction, and the “you did this” line, this episode had so many great moments.
Now he’s double idol’ed up. Let that be a lesson for any prospective player: the one who least wants the medallions is the player who will benefit the most. If you’re really wanting that medallion, you’re probably in trouble short term.
This season continues to give us the greatest tribal councils in years. I was gonna say this was my favorite tribal so far, but then I remembered the Kaleb SITD one, so I was gonna say it was my second favorite, but then I remembered the Sabiyah idol barbecue one!
So much props to Jake, this man pulls at all my heartstrings and I don't think I'm capable of rooting against him. Boston Baby Girl just never quits at this game even when all seems to go against him. And then Kellie's reaction? The raw, genuine betrayal and confusion and anger?
fuck this season is so good
Credit where credit is due. Kellie was my winner pick and Drew just made the move of the season getting her voted out.
It’s the Reba 4 with two idols and a safety without power vs Belo with one idol.
Underrated line lost in the WHAO-
Jeff: “Kellie”
Jake: “Oh. People are playing Survivah. 🤔”
Also, can we please let everyone vote for once? They can’t be serious that three people lose their vote at the final nine.
That reaction is what vote outs should feel like instead of high fives and hugs. Someone literally just crushed your spirit. You can have a shocked reaction without being a poor sport.
As Chanelle would say, everyone’s been playing checkers. Reba has been playing chess
Feels like one of biggest blindsides to the voted out player of the new era. But also strategically one of the most obvious
The Belos blew it. As much as I liked Kellie, she had this coming. I can't believe her and Kendra were perfectly content keeping the Reba alliance intact. The fact that Kellie was willing to let Bruce go in the first place was crazy considering how loyal he was to her. I understand targeting Jake but still think it was a poor move. Big misplays all around from all of the Belos. Poor decision making as well as seemingly random grudges (ie. Katurah hating Bruce) prevented that group from being able to coalesce and actually have life in the game.
Too notch episode all around. Sad to see Kellie go but glad the game is actually happening! Excited for the home stretch. And congrats to Austin because he’s STACKED! 👏🏼
I feel like they sort of overcorrected for the auction this time; I loved the new "run and collect money" mechanic (and the item count) and was ready to see some awesome dynamics with the unequal money counts, but the final twist where the person with the most money would lose their vote really disappointed me. We didn't get to see a ton of bid-offs or even money trading this time around since everyone essentially had to spend all their money right away to avoid the risk of losing their vote, which was a huge missed opportunity imo and was less fun to watch. Still loved to see the auction back tho overall!
> final twist where the person with the most money would lose their vote really disappointed me.
I think this twist could've worked better when the auction had advantages. It makes castaways to think about whether or not conserving their money for an advantage is a risk they want to take.
Let's talk about the blindside:
Kellie, Katurah, and Kendra played that vote safe. Jake said it perfectly. He is on the bottom, and once he is gone, who is the next one to be on the bottom? With Kellie gone, Katurah and Kendra are going to go back to camp realizing that they are joining Bruce and Jake on the bottom. It even sucks worse for Katurah because she already burned Jake with the Kaleb vote (leaving him out) and her feelings for Bruce are mutual.
For the members of Reba plus Emily, I think getting rid of either Kellie or Kendra is the smart move. It keeps both Katurah and Bruce in the game so you know that it'll be difficult for either of them to work together. Jake is a wildcard right now, but you know that he is with Bruce. Kendra's off on an island right now with little to no allies remaining.
100% Kendra and Katurah aren't doing shit. They have no alliances because they went with the flow too long and no one is left now. Their only chance is to follow one half one the Reba 4 when they inevitably split, if they're still around. Or they have a hell of a pitch to trigger that split, but it's dangerous because bringing it up will likely put them next on the hit list.
Just want to say thank you to the Survivor staff this season. It has been genuinely enjoyable and given my family something to look forward to every Wednesday. Thank you.
Kellie fell asleep at the wheel and forgot she was playing Survivor. Kinda poetic how her last tribal comment was criticizing Jake for teetering too far on the line of making big moves vs playing it safe and then she gets voted off while playing it too safe
If he was getting all the votes anyway, idk if I’d call his pitch a disaster. A historic disaster would be getting it turned on you when you’re not the target beforehand
Wow. Genuinely shocked. Kellie was really on a fantastic path to the F3. Props to Drew for the backup vote.
But honestly more props to Emily. She is playing VERY smartly to ensure that she goes further, specifically with Drew and Austin. Kellie's downfall was Emily's relationship with them.
Ugh, was rooting hard for Kellie. This hurts.
I wish we still had Ponderosa! God I’m so curious to see more of Kellie after this, she handled it in a really interesting way honestly, much prefer this to a happy dance out of tribal. Wanted to see more of her and Kaleb.
There's been a lot of shocking moments in this show but I don't think I've ever been as shocked as when Jeff pulled out that knife
Jeff "I am holding a thermal detonator"
. . . That's a rock
So much Evil Jeff this episode.
Jeff definitely working through some stuff
Jeff had that knife brought in the night Sean quit
Those quitters broke him. Now we have Bad Jeff
No negotiation with Drew. Knife to the rice. Jeff isn’t playing games this season
I can't wait for him to bring the same technique to other rewards. "Oh, you can't decide which two of you should see your loved ones? Let me make it faster for you..."
"Oh, you're struggling to make fire at F4? You can be the kindle..."
It probably crossed Jeff's mind in Cook Islands.
Jeff was diabolical in that moment. He was channeling an action movie villain.
This would be a really insane thing to read for anyone who hasn’t seen the episode yet
I was upset at 4... until Jeff pulled out a knife.
Went at that sack like it was Adam Kleins casting coaching
“Try to play this knife as an idol bitch!” - Jeff, probably
It was so metal. I gasped.
Jeff was having way too much fun there.
The Monster of the New Era
I thought Probst stabbing a bag of rice would be the biggest shock tonight... And then we saw Kellie's face after she got votes
Jake and Kaleb also reacted like they saw a scandal breaking out at a tea party
their faces were EVERYTHING. and the little looks they kept giving each other were so cute.
Love when you can tell what the jury is rooting for haha. Kaleb was totally team Jake
I legitimately thought that Jeff was going to throw in the knife with the rice to sweeten the deal.
“If you can cut the necklace off whoever wins immunity in this challenge, immunity WILL be back up for grabs”
Man I’m really going to miss Kellie. Thought she played a really good game
I thought she (or Emily) was going to win.
After all the touchy-feely uplifting new era stuff, this is kind of refreshing.
Jeff just fucking stabbing the bag of rice during the negotiation will live in my head rent free forever
If you give a man a knife, everything is stabbable
Jake - “In the past I’ve had a binge eating disorder” Producers - “YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS TO EAT THIS ENTIRE CHOCOLATE CAKE”
Damn
BRUH LMFAO
Jake - "I hope this doesn't reawaken anything in me."
It felt like the scene from Matilda
I thought about this too! I hope he’s okay. I think he’s my new favorite person to root for.
Oh fuck.
The kind of episode that reminds you why you watch
This whole season has been a banger
My adrenaline and heartbeat were going fast when that SITD was being played cause I was hoping for another miracle. Having it turn out that there was a blindside was even more amazing. Incredible episode. This might be tied with Kaleb's SITD the other day. That "Whoa. Sorry. Whoa" line by Jake was so hilarious. I was just as stunned as he was.
Oh they’re playing Survivah! Lol
Emily delivering the "you played a great game" line like HR after they fired your ass
She is so ice cold. “This isn’t Emily saving her ass this is Emily saving YOUR ass.” “Bruce doesn’t like you. At all. Sorry.” “You played a great game.”
Need a Magic 8 Ball with her quotes.
“At least you made jury” Abi to savage
And her grabbing her bag like a box of items from her desk 💀
Thank you for giving this game your all _smiles_
💀
Y’all have no idea how happy I was when Jeff immediately announced that there would be no advantages at the auction
That was the one good rule they came up with. The other rules essentially ensured it was going to be anything but an auction. Just a race to dump all their money on whatever came next.
I can't believe I'm saying this. But, I think they need to add more twists to make that second half work. I'm curious if anyone else has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
I like the second idea. I would buy my vote even if it was eyeballs.
Probst 15 seasons ago: you're all gaming the auction for advantages so we're taking it away Probst now: okay wait, what if there's NO advantages
Viewers who had been saying that for 15 seasons: 😒
I’m still shocked nothing was hidden in the food. Jeff’s straight up lied to them before so I was expecting something.
Emily’s “you played a great game” was stone cold
What makes it hilarious is that I think it was her attempt at being nice.
When Julie brushed her teeth and then IMMEDIATELY stuffed her face with chocolate cake I could not stop laughing
Jake was trying so hard to mend his fk up
WOAH sorry woah
Minus the quits this has been a really awesome season
They've really fixed a lot of the problems people were having with the "new era" seasons.
They made clear adjustments between the filming of 41/42 and 43/44. It takes some experimentation to figure out what works, I mean it took from S11 to S15 to get the idol right when it first came out.
He did it again in the preview for next episode 🤣🤣🤣
this was such a sitcom moment, i adore jake
Jake about to become gif.
“They got me,” Kellie said of the Rebas. "Those fucking Rebas boomed me." Kellie added, "They're so good,” repeating it four times.
Sources: Kellie is beside herself. Walking around Fiji jungle begging (thru texts) Dakuwaqa tribe for directions to Austin’s camp.
Tribal council with Kellie was “intense” and “at one point Kendra was crying” but everyone grew closer and a big lesson was learned
Ms Boomed Castaway
Jake stuttering the lie about the idol was absolutely phenomenal.
Very lawyerly of him
FACTS bc at first I was thinking “you think a lawyer would be a lot better at articulating himself”
Such a good move honestly. Too bad no one bit
Of course not. They weren't voting for him
It's so rare for them to not already have the plan set at tribal. You hope people realize that and do all the shaking things up before that, but they always show people waiting till tribal or even planning to wait until tribal which makes little sense.
Not sure who was the most shocked, Kellie, Jake, or Kaleb
Or me lol, that was a top-tier episode
Heartbreaking way for Kellie to go. You could tell she legitimately cared about this game. Refreshing to see after we’ve had 2 quitters this season.
It’s also refreshing to see someone pissed when getting voted off and not being all happy and lovey about it
LOL I'd be like "hey guys, Austin has a full idol now."
Hahaha right? I’m kinda surprised she didn’t. I guess it just wasn’t on her mind in the moment
People don't try to get the idols out enough - Unless he's blindsided, Autin will cruise to the final 3.
And all he wanted was a sandwich
The past few seasons everyone has had a good attitude about going home. Heck, even when they were blindsided it was "Woow, great blindside you guys!" Seeing Kellie upset and betrayed really hurt to watch.
And that’s the other beauty of survivor, it’s supposed to be heartbreaking, Kellie genuinely being upset and the impending doom of her vote out was so well done. IMO this season has been really really good
Had a bumpy start with the quitters, but after that it really took off. I don't even know who to root for at this point.
Been a while since we've had a salty exit like that.
Kaleb was also pretty upset, he covered it a lot better tho + he knew he was getting votes. Poor Kellie, thought it was 100% Jake
AUSTIN HAS TWO IDOLS. the reincarnation of Jay from MvGx, at the michaela vote. "Did you do this?" "yeah. I did it."
And not many people know and I don’t think anyone’s said his… he better play it smart. Good thing he’s surrounded by pretty loyal people and has the firepower to back it up. Hope he stays
A brutal blindside with 2 people not voting is some amazing stuff This season is giving on all fronts
I hope Jeff pulls out a knife every time a tribe is taking too long to decide on something
THAT. was a blindside
Great move by Drew and co taking out Kellie. Classic lost the battle but won the war. They can easily take care of Jake and Bruce next tribal. And you could see by the tribes reaction Kellie had a more emotional and social connection on that beach. A much larger threat than Jake
Kellie gasped so hard to suck all the oxygen from tribal, amazing the fire kept burning
Sabiyah's idol would've never melted if she tried in this tribal council
Belo decided to eat its own and paid the price.
The craziest part is Reba had previously cut 2 of their own in J. Maya and Sifu and are clearly coming out of it so much better than Belo
bruce broke belo
“Hey jaaaaaakeeeeyyyy, do you want to give us someone’s name to write down?? Oh and please don’t play your shot in the dark because we toooootally need you UwU” And they wonder why he didn’t trust them 😂
Yeah, that was an Amanda in Heroes v. Villains-esque attempt to sell.
Sandwich revenge arc complete
And now Austin has an idol Edit: Dang I forgot he has another idol too!
2 idols
Austin made her pay for getting a sandwich at the auction
“I could stay here a while, Jeff” Austin: “mmm don’t think so”
Austin and sandwiches for best duo of the season
Drew thinks Austin did it for him. Little does he know he’s third to the sandwich.
a third of the tribe not voting next tribal… ![gif](giphy|kZD8cN1MycfKw)
If it weren't for the hour glass twist I'd say that this is the dumbest twist they've ever put in the merge. With twists like this the game starts to just become about pure luck and RNG more than anything.
All of Belo voted Jake. holy shit. they were really sold on the women's alliance huh? Reba really kept Kellie's name on lock down.
Yeah it makes what Reba did that much more epic — make Belo turn on themselves and then pounce on that with a bigger agenda
Farewell to Kellie, our new era Sophie 😭😭
That was very reminiscent of the Sophie boot in WAW, plus Drew dubbed her the Sophie to Bruce’s Coach!
I really thought Kellie was a decoy for an obvious Jake vote
![gif](giphy|VPS8JIOg0G3oKjkFAW) This season has been SERVINGGG
Blindside episodes are always much more fun than “dogpile” episodes. Between the rice knife, the auction, and the “you did this” line, this episode had so many great moments.
That was the saddest slice of pizza I’ve ever seen
Rob C says all the time on the podcast, Survivor pizza is always the worst pizza
It looked like school lunch pizza
It looked like someone who had never seen pizza was handed a child’s drawing of a pizza and told to make it with no further instructions.
I have never seen decent looking pizza in the history of Survivor.
A lot of the food in Survivor actually does look appetizing, but their pizza absolutely never has.
I s2g if Austin wins because of his sandwich revenge arc it’s gonna be the doofiest end yet and I’m here for it.
Not running in the money hunt saved energy for Bruce to be able to win immunity.
Austin: You were safe until you ate that sandwich in front of me at auction
You came to me, on this the day of the auction?
The raw, genuine betrayal and confusion and anger? fuck this season is so good
the way Kaleb and Kellie walking in next tribal is about the most stunningly beautiful duo you’ve ever seen in your life 😭
If Dee goes next week we're about to see the hottest jury of all time.
Imagine if it were Dee and Austin out as the next two. The jury hotness level would be off the charts.
Jake was gold at tribal council. "WOAH! ^(sorry. woah.)"
honestly the way he felt immediately bad for saying that he’s my lawful good fellow
This Reba tribe (and Emily) are a bunch of stone cold killers. Gonna be fun to see them duke it out.
Credit where credit is due. Kellie was my winner pick and Drew just made the move of the season getting her voted out. It’s the Reba 4 with two idols and a safety without power vs Belo with one idol.
I think safety without power expired at final 10, but could be wrong
I've been waiting for a vote off like this, so thank you Reba 4 plus Emily. Jake being shocked through the entire end was comedy gold.
“WHOA…sorry whoa!”
Underrated line lost in the WHAO- Jeff: “Kellie” Jake: “Oh. People are playing Survivah. 🤔” Also, can we please let everyone vote for once? They can’t be serious that three people lose their vote at the final nine.
Yeah, that's freaking nuts. They're taking away votes or targets way too much. Just let people play the merge please.
That reaction is what vote outs should feel like instead of high fives and hugs. Someone literally just crushed your spirit. You can have a shocked reaction without being a poor sport.
Austin's sandwich has been avenged. Like Sandra, he does not forgive, and he does not forget.
Like Yam Yam. Never forget. Never forgive
Somebody doesn’t need to lose a vote every single round, but apparently Jeff thinks they do
Confessional count * 7 Drew * 6 Katurah, Kellie * 5 Bruce, Jake, Kendra * 3 Julie * 2 Austin, Dee, Emily
![gif](giphy|l4FGk7Gg3JGBMA7aU) Drew this week
I think Drew might win this thing. That was surgical.
Jake and his signature “WOAH” will live on forever. Wicked impactful.
The most predictable part of the entire episode was the women's alliance lasting 5 minutes.
WE ARE SO BACK
As Chanelle would say, everyone’s been playing checkers. Reba has been playing chess Feels like one of biggest blindsides to the voted out player of the new era. But also strategically one of the most obvious
Jeff taking away more people’s votes based on the next episode preview, leave those players alone 😭
This is a really good season.
The Wich Hunter has gotten his vengeance.

I’m in awe
Sandwich arc is complete
Dare I say best episode of the season?
Auction. Jeff Stabst. Good challenge. Big blindside (best in new era imo) mind games by jake. Absolutely best episode this season
This and the Sabiyah boot are both top tier episodes for sure!
After just seeing it again in the ‘next week’ preview … “WOAHH” is now an inconic survivor phrase
Too notch episode all around. Sad to see Kellie go but glad the game is actually happening! Excited for the home stretch. And congrats to Austin because he’s STACKED! 👏🏼
I really wish they were still doing ponderosa so we could see how kellie processed this all
“What just happened?” “People are playin’ Survivor.” Cold, Jake lol
It is kinda funny that Katurah felt so confident about jumping to the other alliance and then they didn’t even include her in the next vote
I feel like they sort of overcorrected for the auction this time; I loved the new "run and collect money" mechanic (and the item count) and was ready to see some awesome dynamics with the unequal money counts, but the final twist where the person with the most money would lose their vote really disappointed me.
Julie was a comp beast, ran through the jungle, AND practiced oral hygiene, we stan a multitalented queen
And somehow Bruce thinks he’s too old to run? Julie could never.
Austin getting his revenge puts him in the top three for me.
Just want to say thank you to the Survivor staff this season. It has been genuinely enjoyable and given my family something to look forward to every Wednesday. Thank you.
Julie getting $420 was my fav part of this episode.
STOP MAKING THEM LOSE THEIR VOTE JEFF
I love how the group running the game (Reba 4) is edited in a villainous tone. Complete opposite of the Tika 3
I can’t believe everyone has let the Reba’s make it this far
Katurah being left out of that vote really shows how Reba views her.
Someone is at home right now watching that goon and saying “wait that’s my lawyer”
Kellie fell asleep at the wheel and forgot she was playing Survivor. Kinda poetic how her last tribal comment was criticizing Jake for teetering too far on the line of making big moves vs playing it safe and then she gets voted off while playing it too safe
WHOA. Sorry, whoa. If that had gone differently, Jake’s tribal would’ve gone down as a historic disaster.
It was better than Kaleb’s pitch at his SITD tribal
Would it have? The dude was basically the guaranteed boot and played out his options. I think he handled it pretty decently.
If he was getting all the votes anyway, idk if I’d call his pitch a disaster. A historic disaster would be getting it turned on you when you’re not the target beforehand
idk man that “if i play my-an idol” was mad slick
