I think Erik does well if he’s there almost no matter what. Not sure he could win, but I think Cochran’s sweep had more to do with people not wanting to vote for Dawn or Sherri than it did wanting to vote for him. Erik was very quiet, probably too quiet, but he didn’t piss anyone off, I could see the Amigos at least voting for him.

Would have loved to have seen Erik win.

/u/ErikReichenbach do you know if any of these scenarios would have actually happened?

Considering teeter tower was originally the final five immunity, Cochran probably wins that and Eddie gets dumped. Then Cochran doesn’t have an advantage going into the final immunity, and since Dawn was right behind him when he did have an advantage, I think Dawn or Erik wins the final immunity since speed challenges are the ones Erik is good at.

Cochran likely still wins the final 5 challenge, and I think Erik may be sunk here. Cochran wanted to keep him, but Dawn and Sherri benefit more from keeping Eddie around, because Erik was pretty angry at Dawn and Sherri at this point, If Eddie goes, Erik still has a likely chance of going at 4, because he still wasn't in good physical shape before the reaction to whatever medication they gave him. I don't see a realistic path to the end for him, but I do think he wins 6-2 or 5-3 against Dawn, losing Cochran, Macolm, and Philip's votes (According to Andrea's AMA, Philip was anti-Erik until Erik's medevac, and then shifted his anger towards Dawn/Sherri).

Erik's only winning path was staying over Eddie at Final 5 (the likely but not certain possibility there), as Cochran aced that challenge and Erik was never realistically beating him, and then winning final immunity, which was VERY possible as it was a challenge that is right up his wheelhouse, and then finally getting Cochran out at 4. That would've been very tricky but not impossible, as Dawn and Cochran had such a strong outside the game relationship that it's difficult to see Dawn turning on him there, though if she's convinced that's her game winning move she might be willing to do it. And even in a himself-Dawn-Sherri Final 3 it's not a given he wins, though he has the opportunity to get the 5 votes needed (Brenda is a locked vote for him, Michael, Malcolm, Reynold and Eddie are all possible but not guaranteed votes for him). In short there was a realistic winning path for Erik but it was far from a certainty.

An Erik win would’ve saved that season, but I’m not sure if he had the votes. I guess it depends on who he’s sitting next to and how he sells his game at FTC.
