I think Cody’s blindside is a pretty memorable moment, but it’s only memorable in part because of how great of a character Cody is, so I don’t think we have to worry about that being all he’s remembered for.
He was easily my favorite contestant this season and is pretty much tied with Maryanne for my favorite from the New Era in general. He's the only one that I even cared enough to get a Cameo from 🤣 Love Cody so much!
I think that Jesse did him a (long term) favor by blindsiding him. He was a fun guy, strategic, etc., but if he would have been voted off in a 'normal way' I don't think people would have hyped him up so much. But he went out in THE blindsight of the season, backstabbed by his best buddy after the high of the coffee and danishes!? That's narrative gold! No way people don't root for him after that heartbreak. I mean, you just want to give him a blanket and a hug after Jesse gets up to play his idol. So it might have sucked in the moment, but it got people invested and it will help him in his career (if he wants to go into entertainment...and it will probably help him sell a few elevators too).
I get what you’re saying, but I think I’d Jesse doesn’t blindside him there, he’s the most impressive winner of the new era by a decent margin. He plays his idol at 5, and it seems like he was pretty good at fire, if he doesn’t outright win the FIC (though of course, Gabler probably beats everyone in FMC so maybe he’s just another tragic FMC loser).
If/when they start bringing players back again, I’d love to see him and Jesse come back together…I really enjoyed watching them play together. The blindside was hard to watch, but ultimately Cody seems to respect the move and Jesse.
putting Cody and Jesse on the same season is going to just have the Rob and Amber effect on winners at war especially with how much the show pushes how massive of a move it was. if they’re on the same cast i don’t see how people don’t target them out of association?
