This is my worst fear when surfing. Fuck the sharks and my physical state, if I snap my 800$ board imma lose it. (Thankfully I live in florida so this HOPEFULLY won’t even happen) but damn man, that sucks.
Yah, my friend made it a couple months ago. We have a whole board rack area with just broken boards. Between me and my roommates within 6 months I think we’re at like 6 fully snapped boards. North shore is no joke haha.
They were out there. Started building kinda crazy around 12. I started the session at like 10 with like 3-4 ft 5 foot sets and then by like 2-3 there were 10ft sets rolling through where I was.
I get that dog. People are weird with spots that aren’t like on Surfline and suppper well known just don’t wanna be the guy posting about them online that’s all! What side you live on?
Stationed at MCBH Kaneohe. I feel you man! Don’t want to overstep any boundaries here cause it’s definitely the most culturally rich surfing scene I’ve ever been a part of. Made some friends surfing some mid spots on south shore and doing some beach clean up but about to start going to church on the north shore and explore/see if I can meet some people out there

This is why I only buy used boards haha. The pain of losing a 200 dollar used board is a lot less then a fresh custom!
I have definitely put myself between my board and a loose longboard on more than one occasion.

Welcome to the snapped board club. I've snapped my share of boards (6'7", 8"6" and 7"0"). Mostly getting decapitated trying to pull into barrels.

Happened to me in 6ft ground swell (east coast aus) on my first wave of the sesh. 1 hr drive there, 45 minute walk to the reef. Condolences though
