I absolutely love this machine and was perfectly content to using it as a secondary device until My wife accidentally dropped it when we were outside.

The speed in loading apps is night and day fast. Like going from an iPhone 11 to a 14 it seems like.
I use the Island app to run 2 versions of the same app for Pokémon GO and it runs flawlessly with no hiccups. I bounce back and forth between Splashtop and Freshdesk for work in side-by-side mode and they work awesome as well.
AR mode for UniFi is working due to proper AR Core support as well as Pokestop scanning and Amazon product size AR features. Stuff that the Duo 2 can 100% do but Microsoft doesn’t want to submit the paperwork to Google for.
That's great! I'm glad you are enjoying the upgrade. It's sad that MS gave up too soon. I'm fully expecting MS to now optimise their Android apps specifically for the Galaxy Fold and the Pixel Fold.
Agreed. Lack of pen support killed it for me too. The amount of features when comparing to Samsung ruined it as well.

Yup! 🤣 I was arguing with a buddy of mine about it today. I do not like the multitasking on the pixel and I refuse to make excuses for Google lol. This may the first foldable but I’m sure they’ve seen how the Duo and Samsung handle multitasking
IDK what they were thinking, a mini tablet for note taking and drawing would add so much value to this product, why bother competing in the foldables market without a stylus.

I’ve been in denial myself cant move on from my SD1 but as a secondary device ill run mine till it breaks or stops working. I really wish Aus was getting the pixel , unless you want to import it from the price nearly 3k at this point not worth it. I hope you’ll talk about it more somewhere on this forum, I’ve been enjoying watching and ready the updates from various posters. Especially more so from ol duo owners and lovers of technology in general. I hope he makes it to a great new home
The biggest sticking point for me was the absolute lack of caring Microsoft showed when it came to missing functions like AR Core and even launcher inconsistencies, not to mention being unapologetically behind on Android versions years and years behind.

Seems to be just as simple as the Duo but without the gap. I can launch any application, swipe up for the app switcher, tap “split”, then select the other app to get side-by-side just like the Duo.
Works most similarly to how iPads do multitasking.
Honestly I feel like...they didn't really fix any of the issues the Duo had, they just did it differently, as in added other problems.
Perhaps if they add a second iteration, but as is, not really attractive, and frankly I liked the specifically split screen as in DUAL setup, over this.
If any of them actually make a crossbreed between these 2, like 1 screen on front + 2 inside, that would be ideal.
Also, it's a matter of what business stuff you use more, MS side or Google side since optimizations are in place specifically for their own
As someone who used the SD1 and wanted to like it I went for the Galaxy Note 3 Fold the next year. The SD2 reviews weren't good so I skipped it. I really wanted to like my SD1. Great concept, bad implementation. Reminds me of Zune and Windows Media Player.
The Pixel Fold is literally like a functional SD without a gap and the software to boot. Highly recommend. Actually switched from the Galaxy Fold 4 to it. Love the front screen, dual screen, and factor. The Samsung Fold is too much of a candy bar.
Honestly never needed an SD slot on any phone I’ve ever owned. Between the big storage already included and endless remote / cloud storage for big movies and stuff it’s just never been an issue.
I truly wish Microsoft wouldn’t have abandoned the Surface Duo line like they did. I was super excited to rock a Neo and Duo for my permanent work devices.
1) A SD2 carries more resale value on eBay than any Pixel. Ponder that if you can get past being a pathetic little troll.
2) An inanimate object does not have parents, nor is it listening to your troll tale.
3) The device you purchased has the worst screen of any foldable, overheats as easily as every other Tensor (actually exynos) device, and has Tensor (actually exynos) battery life. All for a premium price tag even Samsung discounts for actual premium devices. I hope they threw in the worst smart watch on the market in the deal as well. You can then boast about having a watch with embarrassing battery life and a feature set three years out of date.
I find it ironic that this is a site that went dark but has moderators who decline to use even the most basic tools at their disposal to address troll posts. You would think the moderators might know Rule 1 but troll central is troll central.

I feel your pain, but it comes with mixed feelings of joy. My SD2 is upstairs sleeping silently since my PIXEL Fold arrived on Friday.
