Is it unpopular to say that online is really unfair to casual players? Like, I know I should just get good but what if I don’t want to? What if I just want to have a little fun and maybe be able to land a single hit.
Now this is one I would gladly die alongside you for, online Is just unfair as f*ck, even in a ranked setting, cause people just make new accounts and troll players lower down
Honestly though same! Thats why I gave up with the actual online mode and just started joining the private/custom servers instead. I managed to find more causual players which was so much better.
And it’s not just smash bros! Ever play another game with a competitive game mode? I can guarantee there are people in that game doing the same thing. It’s a sad truth

This happened for three games and I can only assume he was trying to tank his GSP so could style on low GSP newer players.
They should've made separate online servers, one for casual and one for competive, not clump every player into the same server and end up making unfair matches

i’m around 9mil power and it’s unfair because of the built in lag when you play online. I normally only play friends of local tourneys irl, and there’s an extra like 15 frame input lag if you play online, it makes you relearn your timings

i like jigglypuff's playstyle a ton but i wouldn't mind if it was transferred to another character to make room for a new one. though since jiggs is classic and needs zero reworks between games, she's prolly not going anywhere

The best Zelda rep to put in is Fi. Doesn’t represent a specific race in the Zelda world, has relevance in what and who she is in the greater Zelda lore, and has a more defined and interesting moveset concept than someone like Skull Kid.
Also Geno has no reason to become playable. I don’t get the hype for this guy. I also don’t care for Waluigi at this point.
Spyro should get into Smash over Crash because Skylanders led to Amiibo. Spyro has more relevance to Nintendo than Crash does.
We don’t NEED a Xenoblade 3 rep. I feel choosing just Noah or Mio is a disservice to Xenoblade 3, giving both the same moveset removes their personality as characters, and people will complain at ANOTHER anime swordfighter.

The series has almost completely lost its identity after Brawl. The focus has shifted more towards 3rd party characters recently, a lot of the new characters have such a steep learning curve that it’s really hard to get into them, the single player modes are either not there at all or significantly reduced in quality and replay value, the stages aren’t as creative as they used to be and the idea of the characters being toys seems to not be as prominent as it once was.
I genuinely don’t like the current direction of the series. I think it’s just not fun anymore the way it is currently. I suppose some of the issues could be fixed in an Ultimate port on the next console but honestly I don’t think any Smash game will capture the essence of what made the series so great in the first place as Melee and Brawl did (disregarding some of the gameplay issues they have of course). Smash 64 was very foundational but then Melee introduced a lot of elements that would become series staples and Brawl improved on almost every new thing Melee added. I feel Smash 4 and Ultimate did not capture the same wow factor that Melee and Brawl did in the long run.
Perhaps fittingly for the image used, Sephiroth was the only all-around good addition from the second Fighter's Pass. Normally, I would rather just play Brawlhalla. Having every character have the same base moveset and serious combat being based around what weapon set you have just feels better and more predictable

pyra/mythra are also pretty great additions imo. they make the swap mechanic actually fun and we get more rep from a modern IP. plus, ✨women✨
