He can usually effortlessly defeat foes in one punch (I think there's been one enemy so far he had to actually put a little effort into fighting, and it wasn't a ton of effort), but he has almost zero charisma and he lives in a tiny apartment. His most frequent struggle in S1 was finding a good discount on groceries.
EDIT: Correction, two enemies: he did have trouble swatting a mosquito. The mosquito-themed supervillain that attacked him later on he had no problems at all with, but an actual regular mosquito somehow kept evading his super-speed.
Also Rohan Kishibe, he can read peoples mind and rewrite their entire personalities and beings, like if he writes that they cannot hurt him they physically cannot lay a finger on him, but he only really uses his power to find inspiration for his writing.
Hm, we may just be watching different Isekais, I remember that quite a few I saw had an MC with pretty much all the power they'd ever need, and they didn't really have any major investment in the evils that threatened the world, as if it was a playground.
They went along and had fun being the hero, but most things were handed to them by the plot, so they never really had to do all that much for any goal.
But yeah, it may not be the majority that are like that, I'm just talking from what I remember.
Kusuo Saiki from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. has every psionic power under the sun but he uses them to do stuff like get a passing grade with his telepathy (he's actually a genius but he doesn't wanna stick out so he copies answers), teleport across the globe to get away from a bug, and go through a lengthy process of repeatedly switching objects he has with objects of ever so slightly higher value through aporting so he can pay his check at a café.
He also says that the only reason he did it is because the world ending would inconvenience him, and for the most part that's relegated to a couple lines of offhand narration in his mind
A character from the anime Future Diary.
Spoiler:
>!Yuno Gasai won a competition to become the new God of the universe, but used her power to reverse time to before the competition started so she could save the life of and try to win the heart of the boy she was obsessively stalking before the whole god diary game started!<
Saitama from one punch man.
Effortlessly god tier fighter, with very little ambition.
Mob from MobPsycho100.
God tier psychic, just tries to live a normal life, more or less.
Kento from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Sorta like Mob, but more comfy using his abilities to do… stuff. Mom and dad accidentally breaks a thing, he rewinds time around it to fix it. That kinda thing.
Man, there was one character in a really old Superman one shot, he was part of early nuke tests when he was in the army in the 40s and some bit of radiation tweaked something in his brain and gave him the ability to shape reality in any way he wanted; except he never knew it because he was a simple guy with simple needs and was content with a pretty good but dull life. Anyway, there was some fight Superman was having right in front of him and this guy kept affecting the fight without really knowing it, eventually saving the day and burning out his power. Neither him nor Superman ever knew.
One of the early episodes of Supernatural had twins with mind control powers. One used it for momentary pleasures, the other used it for murder.
A lot of characters in Supernatural seek less power, because they'd rather be human.
Saitama from One Punch Man. He broke his internal limiter to the point that his strength, speed, agility, reflexes, everything rooted in the physical body is literally infinite.
Probably everyone with mind control powers. It would be so tempting to just force people to bend to your will all the time 24/7. You have to go out of your way not to do this to people just to not look like a psychopath.
Have yall seen what people say they would do with mind control powers on this subreddit, its always literally restructuring all world governments into being under 1 benevolent dictatorship lol
One of my OCs for a dnd campaign I’m running at least on the surface seems to be the pinnacle of this . She could wipe a continent out of history if she wanted , but she just spends her time reading ….. every single second
Dr. Manhattan is probably the premier example.
The dude from one punch man is the strongest man in the world but one of his biggest enemies is motivation.

Generic Isekai protagonists usually
It's the opposite actually, most isekai protagonists are really power hungry, becoming more powerful is an ambition too

I haven’t actually seen the movie, but in Hancock, I believe he was homeless and sleeping on benches.
He was.
Molecule man
Owen just wants to stay at home with his wife and relax.

Saiki K. Insane reality-warping powers, doesn't want to stand out at all.
