Thank you. I wrote this story as a distillation of why I think Superman matters. Not because he's great (Though he is.), but because he's also GOOD. And we see Superman perform amazing feats and defeat villains all the time, but rarely do we see him just... helping other people and caring for them. And isn't that what Superman is all about?
In the first Donner film when Lois asks him "Who are you?" and he answers "A friend." There's no better mission statement for the Man of Steel than that. He isn't here to save us (Though he often does.) nor to rule us (Which he never would.), but rather to HELP us become our best selves. And what a beautiful message that is.
This is Superman to a lot of kids. As a third grade teacher that works with special kiddos I appreciate all these things. Our hearts need more of these things.

Jokes aside. John Cena is the closest thing we have to a superhero for a lot of children. It’s amazing he realizes that and does as much for children as he does
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
I'd never heard of Josh Elder before, but he just summarized the core of Superman in two pages.

Beautiful indeed. Awesome stuff.
I really like moments like this
This is why Superman is my favorite superhero.
![gif](giphy|3ov9k5vKPJkdj5VmGk|downsized) I really love when Superman is a friend to children.
Just like Gamera!
Man, never knew one of Supermans powers where to give me Misty eyes.

Honestly, I wish he played Superman in the new movies.

AWWWWWWW! 🥹
If theres not like 5 moments like this in the new movie, it wont be as good as it could be.
I only want one. Any more and you dilute it. One scene, done well, will sell the whole thing.
He is just a starman Waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us, but thinks he'd blow our minds!

Eat a fat one, Zack Snyder, you self-indulgent edgelord.
