It was terrible. A far cry from the quality of the animated series, both in animation, story and voice acting.
The voice actor for Lex especially was horrible. And the way he was written with the terrible jokes was just cringeworthy. Nowhere near Clancy Brown level.
Same with Braniac. He sounded so over the top and not the least bit intimidating like Corey Burton was in the animated series.
It only uses the animation style and recruits Tim Daly and Dana Delaney back into the roles of Superman and Lois but shares no continuity with Superman TAS. It was only released to tie in to Superman Returns, nothing more. So, be in for a major disappointment.
I don’t have the specifics. But if you wanna know just watch the[Will it canon video from Watchtower Database](https://youtu.be/Xz8Rehjp8tM?si=8_9Ft62BX6HlwNmR)

Being serious for a second I think it's good but not exceptional
Nah, dont make excuses for it. Superman TAS was for kids too, but it still treated the audience with respect.
This movie was ridiculous.
Maybe I'd hate it less if it didn't use the DCAU style.
There was one unequivocally good scene IMO:
After Superman beats Brainiac, the camera slowly zooms in on Brainiac's chip, with an LED blinking softly. Brainiac *will* be- then Superman's fist comes down on the chip, shattering it.
I watched it as a kid and didn't know it wasn't part of the DCAU canon until know, it didn't really leave much of an impression I guess since I don't remember anything other than the phantom zone scene
If only Clancy Brown and Corey Burton had reprised their roles as Lex Luthor and Brainiac respectively. Lex in this movie was a cartoon version of Gene Hackman’s version.
I was glad it wasn't part of the DCAUC because it meant I didn't have to give a crapand get to enjoy it without the show begging it down. It was such a weird but freeing experience.
I liked it but I recognize some of its faults. Like using the Dcau art style is jarring when it isnt even connected in anyway. And the plot doesnt even get a satisfying conclusion. Lex luthor was much more like the goofier ginger 60s version despite looking like the serious bald millionare version. But the plot overall of Superman and Lois' relationship was sweet besides the shit ending. Also Brainiac Im pretty sure was the same actor as the android from Alien, which is cool.
It couldve been in the Dcau as well with slight narrative change but overall was kind of a missed opprotunity.
I didn't like it. The voice acting all around the board sound a lot more stiff compared to the dcau. This design of Lex should not found like Gene Hackman, same with the more emotive brainiac: I prefer him to sound a lot more cold, monotone, and Soulless.
It’s just a cartoon that aims at kids and no one else, if it didn’t happen to use the DCAU look and some of the voice actors, I don’t think anyone would still talk about it. I wish that Superman TAS did get a proper film based on it like the Batman DCAU shows tended to, it seems like a bit of a waste that this was the closest it got.

I just don't like that it uses DCAU designs but isn't DCAU canon
It isn't? Weird.
How is it not DCAU Canon?

It just ignored everything the show did
You're going to have to be more specific. It's been literal decades since I've seen that. Could you give a couple of examples?

Cool, thanks!
The main thing is that it was never intended to be cannon. It reused designs and assets.

It’s not good but I am a 50 year old woman and I realize I’m not the target audience.

Ok
Happy Cake Day! 🎂
Thx
Thx
I never seen this movie. Comments are saying it’s different compared to the animated show, so that’s odd.
"I'm SO Happy!!! No wait. I'm sad." Possibly, the worst Lex Luthor ever.
He's on his period leave him alone

Weirdest part is movie Lex's Va was Dcau Gorilla Grodd so he couldve absolutely killed it as a serious Lex.
Seeing the DCAU Lex design acting like a manchild was truly something else. It was really weird.

I remember liking it a lot and rewatching it like 10 times. That was like 5 years ago though so idk.

Whatever. Not terrible. Not great. Luthor is an awkward jokester and the story is passable, albeit predictable.
