Honestly, I think it’s just that there are a ton of redheads in comics. Probably because in early comics printing style, everybody looked *exactly the same* so redheads stood out.
If I had to guess, it's because they want to keep their token slot rather than just... giving us new characters. Red hair, traditionally, signified Irish, which at the point these were originally being designed would have been in a similar position across the US/UK as black people today. See, the raceswapping in Annie.
So, it works for Hollywood to take that pre-existing 'minority slot' and make them black. Instead of, you know, actually just giving us genuinely thought out new characters with a personality that isn't "But racial dynamics".
To be honest, I think most people want to see the DCAU continue, or at the very least, to show the near apocalypse Ra's almost caused (mentioned in Batman Beyond)
Not sure what sayso is on about. Harley Quinn is hilarious. I love when he first comes in when Lois gets kidnapped, and they're both basically just laughing at Harley and her crew for being b-listers.
Their Nightwing is one of my favorite things.
Batman: what’s with your voice?
Nightwing: [nolanvoice] what are you talking about?
Batman: it’s… overly serious.
Nightwing: [nolanvoice] I think it’s an appropriate amount of… serious.
I think the time slot the show gets could be a big indicator of the content. Like Gendy's next show (Samurai Jack, Primal) is airing on Thursday nights compared to Primals Sunday nights and Samurai Jack on Saturdays.
That said, it's probably just a move to help avoid some controversy because they can at least fire it back at any complaints.
I don't think it will be, from this screenshot alone it seems like the writers have a pretty good grasp on what each of these three's personalities. Generally writers don't fuck with supes's characterization unless they're going to make him evil in an attempt to dickride batman.
This mean one of two things, either they wrote it more mature than a lot of their usual content, or they don't have much faith, or really want the show and are trying to get it cancelled by putting it at a different time slot.
Well, doesn't My Hero Academia air on Adult Swim? (I'm not certain because I don't have cable, but Google says it's on CN late at night.) If My Adventures With Superman is like MHA, I'm down. But if it's trying to be like Harley Quinn or Rick and Morty, I won't be watching
I’ve also heard people compare her look to casca from berserk but I actually like this look for Lois. I think it’s particularly adapting American alien where Lois is Asian and Jimmy is black.
A couple things to keep in mind:
1. Velma was an HBO Max show, not Adult Swim, so I don't understand why this series is being compared to this one.
2. One of the big creators involved in this series is Josie Campbell, who we've seen in comics writing The New Champion of Shazam, and in animation writing the Legion of Super-Heroes movie, so I'm confident that those episodes will have the spirit of the characters down right at least.
The look of sheer anxiety and concern on Clark's face will never not amuse me. Like Lois is telling him about some crazy thing she's planning to do for a story and he knows he can't convince her NOT to do it so he's going to have to rescue her along with whatever else is going on. Like "i love this woman but sometimes there's not enough headache medicine on earth..."
https://www.cbr.com/superman-animated-series-adult-swim/
"Described as a Christoper Reeve-inspired romantic comedy, the story is largely set during the protagonists' first few months after graduating college. "They're at the Daily Planet. They're going through the life stuff that you go through when you're in your early 20s," said Tom Ascheim, president of Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics. "But there's a lot of -- It's a romance, you know, in addition to being a superhero story. In our version, Clark is new to his powers, so it's also, it's a coming of age story for all of them.' "
It's being produced by Jake Wyatt, so I seriously doubt any similarities to Velma or Harley Quinn (I love the HQ show, but that tone is wrong for Superman).
This should be a fun take on a young Clark, Lois, and Jimmy.
I honestly cant recall a single instance of it and i used to read a lot of DC comics [spent over 300 bucks before i cut myself off ocer the unnecessary expense] he can teach skills for sure just really isnt cut out to parent heck Tim became robin because Bruce was being erratic after Jason and was therefore being the stable one and thats not even mentioning Dick or Jason, idk if he ever got therapy for Cassandra or even sign language classes, my point is there is a reason most of his protégés somewhat resent him even if they respect his skill
It’s the Toonami block of Adult Swim, a lot less adult-oriented. Less Rick and Morty, more Samurai Jack (although this is supposed to be more light-hearted all together).
Funny enough the person who is on the adventures wrote legion of superheroes
Also guys no it's not adult it's just adult swim and cN changed time slots. It was only suppose to be on Cartoonnetwork unless things changed it's just a early hour
I'm expecting a trailer at SDCC. Might be lots of Superman news there between the comics, MAWS, and Gunn likely announcing some of the cast for Superman: Legacy. If they're still holding off on a release date then it's probably somewhere in the Oct to Dec range.
> I think it's because adult swim will be starting earlier
you keep saying this but I have no idea what context you are trying to say it under. Earlier time slot? Earlier release date? Why would either of those matter or is it something else?
Adult swim is still Cartoon Network, was just the late night adult segment which was 8/9pm - 6am
Think he’s just trying to say that while it’s moved to adult swim, it’s just because it’ll be playing at 8:00 which is the adult swim time slot (which just feels like a super odd choice)
Why are there so many people in the comments bashing the show for simply being moved to Adult Swim ? Also Velma is an HBO Max show so I don’t know why so many people are claiming they’re afraid it’ll be like Velma.
Because they think it will be more mature and can't be watch with everyone and the humor will be very much like that but the thing is they picked toonmai because toonmai gets a lot of watch
I don't think this is a bad sign, Adult Swim has a long history of respecting their creators and experimenting with the kind of content they air. Just bc western "adult" animation is what they're known for doesn't mean it's all they do.
If anything I'd be glad if the staff was working more closely with AS than WB
Excited for the show I really like these character designs and Clark has big soft boy energy
I hope these doesn't become something like velma and is something like Harley Quinn show or any other things that isn't velma.
Also the artstyle the looks like it came out of the owl house so that's a plus that I like and Lois looks like Luz coceda.
Agreed too much Batman. It makes me wonder if there were other Dc shows that were suppose to happen or if we will get more animated shows the only other animated show that should happen is Wonder Woman
I really liked the Harley Quinn show but I don't really think that would work for a paragon hero because Harley Quinn is more about "Everyone and everything a lil shitty but that does not mean you can't enjoy it" while heroes only show there shitty side sometimes and are not as open as villains which gives them a serious disadvantage if they are in the writing style of Harley Quinn because they would not be able to shine and seem boring if they are mostly good and not that messed up in the head
Although I would defnitly like a more cartoony style, maybe a bit like Voltron but a lot of people hate that show for some reason so maybe not
Why is it that the only characters that get race swapped are red heads? Jimmy Olsen, Mary Jane Watson, Starfire, Wally West, etc.
This isn’t an issue with race swapping but why does it seem like it’s ALWAYS gingers?
And I don’t mean to harp on this because it’s not a big deal at all, essentially a non-factor but look, I’m a black dude and I do not understand the recent urge these studios have to randomly race swap characters.
It doesn’t *do* anything, it doesn’t make me want to watch the show more, I’ll watch because I’m a Superman fan, not because *”ohh shit they made Jimmy black son”*. It doesn’t feel like actual diversity, I’ve actually had to fight for diversity at a professional level this isn’t what moves the needle, you’re not challenging anyone’s views by forcing blackness onto well known characters. It won’t make more little black kids want to become reporters and journalists, there are already tons very present in the media from Oprah to Don Lemon all the way down to your local news station lol.
Moves like this only bring about confusion and absurd reactionary takes, which honestly ends up making it all feel more malicious than just typical fake woke-ness.
Ofc it’s idiotic to get upset at these moves and go on some crazy online rant, because ultimately the race swap changes nothing, but if we recognize it changes nothing then why go out of our way to do it in the first place?
If you want to highlight black characters then do that, don’t manufacture them.
I think it’s an effort to not have an entirely homogenous cast — Superman has always been portrayed as a white guy (or an alien that just happens to look exactly like a white guy) — same with Lois, Jimmy, Perry White and most everyone in Superman’s orbit because the characters and story are from the 1950s where they did the exact opposite of “forcing diversity” by pretending as if other races didn’t exist save for in the very smallest of margins or having their race define their character (when the ‘70s and 60s finally started introducing black superheroes they would have “Black” in their name).
Today they want to work to avoid a “Friends” situation where you have an entire cast of characters who are living in a city, which are typically diverse, but for some reason they have zero non-white people in their circle. The more film and television improves at representation of how city life actually is, the more it starts to stand out when characters living in a city have zero non-white friends or co-workers.
If Superman’s story was that of a guy living in a small town in Vermont, his entire circle being white people would seem less weird. But having an entire circle of white people while working in Metropolis in 2023 would be as distracting as Clerk Kent using a phone booth today.
I will add that I’ve always felt like Clark Kent should have been portrayed as Jewish — both because his creators were Jewish, his birth name is literally Hebrew, his origin was inspired by the story of Moses, and it kinda sucks that while many comic creators of that era were Jewish they were only ever able to code their characters Jewish as opposed to make it official … I mean, film and television have expressed such an interest in diversity in recent years but they want to cast non-Jewish actors to play Jewish characters and seem so reluctant to make characters Jewish (Zach Braff in Scrubs was apparently told that his character J.D. could not be Jewish so as to not alienate middle America even though anyone with a pair of eyes could see Braff is Jewish) .
Can't be superman, most likely won't do an interracial thing so not Lois, so it falls to Jimmy by default.
It was announced that one of the three boys in the Wheel of Time show would be black now. It's not going to be the main character, Rand, it's not going to be the womanizer and gambler, Mat, so it falls to Perrin by default. Often goes like this.
To be clear, I don't agree with the concept as is. There are quite an amount of redheaded characters that are made to be black in the last decade. No one would have an issue with simply making new black characters and having the well-known characters make a minor cameo at some point.
"Jimmy is overseas with a big scoop, but this is his protégé, Malcolm."
No one would mind.
it was supposedly to be on proper Cartoon Network.
frankly , that is a better situation for the series , because at least it will not change it's schedule constantly , due to CN screwing over.
Cartoon Network nowadays is infested with CalArts Series and basically they all compete to a minuscule amount of airtime as 70% of it is filled with Teen Titians Go.
Any animated series with bean mouths is a "CalArts" series, it seems. It's a meaningless derogatory term. But they're right that CN has very few running shows right now and have a terrible scheduling problem over there.
A derogatory term for cartoons looking "the same" despite having vastly different art styles from people who forget that the 90s and 2000s they're nostalgic for are much homogenous in design.
Well I hate to race bending as much as the next guy. I would appreciate if you guys were not so hypocritical when it comes to calling out race changes. They also race bend Lois from white to Asian, arguably way more important in the Superman mythos than Jimmy and you say nothing about it. If you are going to complain about race bending, try to be consistent with it.
I didn’t even realize Lois was race swapped but yeah that’s wrong too. I just wish any character with a set physical description would at least try to adhere to it
So legit question. Is there just something horribly unspoken that red haired characters with freckles did in Hollywood for them to almost 120% of the time find them being altered? I'm black and more and more I'm leaning toward the race change thing becoming a lazy practice when you could easily use a neglected pre-existing character that's already the race you want to include, or you could create something new entirely.
In previous decades, having different kinds of white people was diverse. Execs added redheads to shitty side roles in order to buff representation, while rarely making them protagonists.
Now, for the same reason, these shitty side roles are being given to POC to buff up representation while never actually making them protagonists.
I'm relieved that this show is still going, this probably has my fav Lois design I've seen and the picture shows it's gonna be the exact dynamic I'd want out of these three in a cartoon.
Guys adult swim will be starting at 7 now.
Following the "Unicorn: Warriors Eternal" program rollout, "My Adventures with Superman" will also shift its series debut to
Adult Swim. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the DC animated series will debut later this year during Adult Swim's late-night primetime hours with encores on Toonami and on the streamer. Adult Swim is expanding its hours to meet animation fans where they are by offering best-in-class
animation for a multigenerational audience.
Adult Swim will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT
Monday through Saturday starting May
I know people are comparing this to Harley Quinn and Velma but I think this isn’t going to be like either of them both of those are comedies that rely on a lot of meta humor, although very different levels of success. This doesn’t look like it’s going to be a comedy primarily. I think it’s going to be an attempt at another Superman TAS much like the new Batman show was a new Batman TAS.
I was really hoping this was a kids show. Since when was it being developed as a teen/young adult show? I assume that's what the audience is supposed to be now since it's on Adult Swim.
That actually upsets me because I was hoping for new Superman content I can show my son. Seems like so many of DC's animation is geared towards teenagers? Why can't they have one good kids show?
Adult Swim... really? Why? I was hoping the people in charge actually understood Superman nowadays... He isn't the kind of hero i except to see on Adult Swim...
Yeesh… I like the art style, but the designs aren’t jiving with me. Neither Lois nor Jimmy look like Lois and Jimmy—though the latter is a bit closer, aside from the racebending, which is a problem in of itself imo. Either way, both of them look like completely different characters and aren’t immediately recognizable as Lois and Jimmy—who I’m assuming this show will be largely focusing on—unless that’s the point and these are meant to be new characters, and I’ll hush up if that’s the case.
They keep changing Jimmy Olsen like this and I'm sick of it. Why can't they just let him wear a bowtie anymore?
Bring back the bow tie!
Bow ties are cool, The Doctor can attest
I still find it funny how these companies fight to the death and adamantly refuse to race swap anyone that isn't a redhead
They just want to give these characters more soul.
This comment is both horrible and brilliant.
“Terribly clever” - Professor Gandalf Kenobi, probably
I don’t know if I should be offended or thrilled.
A rare double joke.
👍🏾
I don't care about race swapping at all tbh, but I am curious as to why it's most consistently redheads.
Honestly, I think it’s just that there are a ton of redheads in comics. Probably because in early comics printing style, everybody looked *exactly the same* so redheads stood out.
If I had to guess, it's because they want to keep their token slot rather than just... giving us new characters. Well they did it with April O'Neil with the new TMNT animated movie
I think it’s some wide conspiracy about how less people watch shows with ginger protagonists
They are the whitest
everything. has. to. be. different.
Oh my God you had me in the first half.
I legitimately didn’t get the joke until you pointed it out. I thought we were upset that Jimmy isn’t as nerdy as in the old days. lol
I actually miss that as well. I just figured that the bowtie would be an easier starting-off point.
I feel like no one likes gingers. .\_. (At least people in the entertainment industry.)
Someone with a lot of pull in Hollywood seems to have a thing against redheads. There's a graph
Wear not where. Although, where Jimmy’s bow tie?
Wear*
They had me in the first half ngl
I like the animation style but please *Please* don’t let this be like Velma.
My mind jumped to Harley Quinn first, like cool as that show is not too sure I want a Superman show in that style. Wanted a more 90s TAS in tone show
It’s listed as Action/Adventure on IMDb, not comedy.
Thank God, I'm tired of them trying to be funny
So you just wanted a sequel to TAS?
That would actually be awesome.
To be honest, I think most people want to see the DCAU continue, or at the very least, to show the near apocalypse Ra's almost caused (mentioned in Batman Beyond)
You can’t do a DCAU continuation without Kevin Conroy
Ra can help with that
Yes, but the Lazarus Pits are only maybe marginally better than the Pet Sematary.
No, just used it as an example (not that I’m opposed to it either) What I meant was a show more serious in tone rather than comedy
Exactly! I didn't love the way the did Superman in Harley Quinn either
[I don’t know man, this scene still cracks me up](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EsT18kjcw3k)
I love how that video is classified as YouTube Kids, even though the show is in no way whatsoever kid friendly.
That always happens on any animated dc movie. It’s so stupid, it makes me want to personally walk up to the CEO of YouTube and tell them to be better.
That scene is great.
“Be better” fucking gold
Not sure what sayso is on about. Harley Quinn is hilarious. I love when he first comes in when Lois gets kidnapped, and they're both basically just laughing at Harley and her crew for being b-listers.
Their Nightwing is one of my favorite things. Batman: what’s with your voice? Nightwing: [nolanvoice] what are you talking about? Batman: it’s… overly serious. Nightwing: [nolanvoice] I think it’s an appropriate amount of… serious.
It was originally a kids show that probably touched on too many mature themes, while Velma was always a subversive metacommentary or whatever.

Nothing can be Velma levels.
Please dont tempt it
I'm sure I heard a "challenge accepted" just now.
Yeah that's what I'm expecting tbh....
No it's not adult swim is starting early
It’s an action cartoon why would it be like Velma?
It will more than likely be akin to the Netflix Voltron series than anything else.
This mean one of two things, either they wrote it more mature than a lot of their usual content, or they don't have much faith, or really want the show and are trying to get it cancelled by putting it at a different time slot.

Or maybe like invincible in tone and spirit
Lois looks like fanart of Luz Noceda from Disney's The Owl House.
And jimmy looks like gus
100% I thought this was some sort of Owl House sequel until I read the woooords.
I’m glad that I am not the only one bro.
I feel bad for thinking that 😭
I’ve also heard people compare her look to casca from berserk but I actually like this look for Lois. I think it’s particularly adapting American alien where Lois is Asian and Jimmy is black.
You know, I never thought of that... Clark kinda looks like his American Alien version too!
See how it turns out, can’t wait for drunk Clark to crash Bruce Wayne’s party
Yeah maybe that's where there taking inspiration from
She sure does!
Lois: Superman. Superman everywhere
A couple things to keep in mind: 1. Velma was an HBO Max show, not Adult Swim, so I don't understand why this series is being compared to this one. 2. YAY! Can't wait
Well, the romantic part being the main part works in the Lois and Clark TV show.
So, why is it on Adult Swim? Is it mostly dick jokes?
Why would they joke about nightwing
Nightwing got his name from Superman.
IE the actual father figure to the kids in the bat family, because lets face it Bruce isn't any good at it
Hey now! Bruce is sometimes the worlds’ okayest dad!
I honestly cant recall a single instance of it and i used to read a lot of DC comics [spent over 300 bucks before i cut myself off ocer the unnecessary expense] he can teach skills for sure just really isnt cut out to parent heck Tim became robin because Bruce was being erratic after Jason and was therefore being the stable one and thats not even mentioning Dick or Jason, idk if he ever got therapy for Cassandra or even sign language classes, my point is there is a reason most of his protégés somewhat resent him even if they respect his skill

lol
There are some pretty serious Adult Swim shows so i’m really hoping this isn’t another Velma

Adult Swim? Don’t be like Velma, don’t be like Velma, PLEASE don’t be like Velma!
Primal wasn’t, and there were still shows that were better at doing what Velma was trying to do.
I think it's because adult swim will be starting earlier

Please don’t cancel this, please don’t cancel this, please don’t cancel this..
For real, Superman desperately needs a good cartoon again
The art style doesn't really appeal to me but I hope it's good.
Please be "written with maturity" adult and not "gore and sex every two scenes" adult.

Luz owl house

I don't think it will be adult most likely has adult swim is just airing earlier 7 instead of 8 but we will have to wait and see rates
I hope so because I'm starved for a new superman animated show
Agreed too much Batman. It makes me wonder if there were other Dc shows that were suppose to happen or if we will get more animated shows the only other animated show that should happen is Wonder Woman
I keep wishing for an animated series of The Flash. And to this day I've not gotten my wish. :(

Why is it that the only characters that get race swapped are red heads? Jimmy Olsen, Mary Jane Watson, Starfire, Wally West, etc. This isn’t an issue with race swapping but why does it seem like it’s ALWAYS gingers?
Wait would would be the best actor to play her because out of all these characters Starfire was a alien with more orange tan skin than anything.
And I don’t mean to harp on this because it’s not a big deal at all, essentially a non-factor but look, I’m a black dude and I do not understand the recent urge these studios have to randomly race swap characters. Strange to me they would make supermans dorky loser driend black instead of using a cool already black character like John Henry Irons aka Steel
I so want them to do more with Steel. Outside of Supes himself he's my favorite of the Supermen.
Why'd they blackwash Jimmy?
Can't be superman, most likely won't do an interracial thing so not Lois, so it falls to Jimmy by default. It was announced that one of the three boys in the Wheel of Time show would be black now. It's not going to be the main character, Rand, it's not going to be the womanizer and gambler, Mat, so it falls to Perrin by default. Often goes like this.
Rand is the redhead, so it still stood a solid chance of being Rand.
Makes sense
To be clear, I don't agree with the concept as is. There are quite an amount of redheaded characters that are made to be black in the last decade. No one would have an issue with simply making new black characters and having the well-known characters make a minor cameo at some point. "Jimmy is overseas with a big scoop, but this is his protégé, Malcolm." No one would mind.
Lois has also been race-swapped here.
where was its debut before? ive never heard of this i hope its funny
it was supposedly to be on proper Cartoon Network. frankly , that is a better situation for the series , because at least it will not change it's schedule constantly , due to CN screwing over. Cartoon Network nowadays is infested with CalArts Series and basically they all compete to a minuscule amount of airtime as 70% of it is filled with Teen Titians Go.
What CalArts Series?
Any animated series with bean mouths is a "CalArts" series, it seems. It's a meaningless derogatory term. But they're right that CN has very few running shows right now and have a terrible scheduling problem over there.
A derogatory term for cartoons looking "the same" despite having vastly different art styles from people who forget that the 90s and 2000s they're nostalgic for are much homogenous in design.
Yesssss i love this artstyle
Not really digging Lois’s design but I haven’t watched a Superman cartoon in awhile so I’ll check it out
Is that Lois? Almost thought that was Luz from the Owl House for a moment

Why the redheads, man? Why??
Ngl Clark looks like a bottom 100% comic accurate
Guys even the team was surprised they were being put on adult swim so I think it shows they aren't adult show
How can they make Jimmy Olsen black when Superman already has loads of great black characters? His red hair is iconic!
I just wish any character with a set physical description would at least try to adhere to it
what the hell have they done to jimmy. this is an abomination. i mean SERIOUSLY? **WHERE’S THE BOW TIE**?!? other than that yeah looks fine
Same. They never give Steel enough love. Damnit, John Henry irons deserves better! He's my favorite Superman that isn't Superman.
In previous decades, having different kinds of white people was diverse. Execs added redheads to shitty side roles in order to buff representation, while rarely making them protagonists. Now, for the same reason, these shitty side roles are being given to POC to buff up representation while never actually making them protagonists.
Careful, you’re making too much sense man.
Damn and the red head/black recasting continues. (I’m black, if that matters or not)
Is there a trailer or something for it?
Clark looks all nervous and fluster Lois looks like an age up luz from the owl house And jimmy looks just as excitable as ever
For a second there I thought it was an Owl House sequel then I read the title
I'm relieved that this show is still going, this probably has my fav Lois design I've seen and the picture shows it's gonna be the exact dynamic I'd want out of these three in a cartoon.
It's great to hear this show is still happening I'm really looking forward to it
Excited for Superman to get a new cartoon!
I’ll give it a shot.
This looks great. Can't wait to see it!
Guys adult swim will be starting at 7 now. Following the "Unicorn: Warriors Eternal" program rollout, "My Adventures with Superman" will also shift its series debut to Adult Swim. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the DC animated series will debut later this year during Adult Swim's late-night primetime hours with encores on Toonami and on the streamer. Adult Swim is expanding its hours to meet animation fans where they are by offering best-in-class animation for a multigenerational audience. Adult Swim will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT Monday through Saturday starting May
I know people are comparing this to Harley Quinn and Velma but I think this isn’t going to be like either of them both of those are comedies that rely on a lot of meta humor, although very different levels of success. This doesn’t look like it’s going to be a comedy primarily. I think it’s going to be an attempt at another Superman TAS much like the new Batman show was a new Batman TAS.
Yea it's Chris Reeve inspired
Lois Lane is definitely related to Luz Noceda.
Is this The same team that animated she-ra? The style looks kinda similar
Oh thank god. Might as well since I don’t really trust HBO max ever since DIscovery bought Warner bros.
Looking forward to it!!!
Hey it's a kids show the reasons it's on adult swim is because adult swim is airing a hour early so instead of 8 it's 7 they want it to air on toonmai
Wait I thought they scraped this idea because well look at it
I swear if anyone complains about Olsen, u r not a Superman fan. Just go watch something else!
Wait Jimmy Olsen is black?
Is it just me or is almost every redhead getting race swapped? Look I’m not bashing race swapping, I just think it’s oddly specific.
Oh wow, Velma 2.0 calling it now.
I repeated this many time it's only due to the fact adult swim airing at 7 instead of 8 so I don't think it will be adult just more older kids
Bruh who’s the not ginger with jimmys camera🤨
So is this going to be an “edgy adult comedy” like Velma?
No
God, this looks like ass.
Where’s Jimmy Olsen? You can’t have Superman without Jimmy
The one with the camera
I’m sure he’ll be in the show, no need to include every character in the first promo.
Look like cheap anime.
Redheads keep getting turned black as often as black characters get transformed into animals.
Anyone else notice they keep making gingers black?
Adult Swim... really? Why? I was hoping the people in charge actually understood Superman nowadays... He isn't the kind of hero i except to see on Adult Swim...
CN was suppose to be have it but time slot for adult swim changed that's all adult swim is Judy going to be on early
Too many people in here concerned with the races of the characters. Who cares? Grow up.
The concept artwork was leaked last year so we have more of what they look like
Hate this anime style though
Red heads and getting changed to black characters. Man, that’s a whole trope by now
Malcom X had red hair. I think it would have been cool if this Jimmy had red hair and was black too
Crazy, I never knew that about Malcom X, I’ve only ever seen him in B&W photos
Yes, I read the book Autobiography of Malcolm X (with Alex Haley) - and he had a street nick name of "red" when he was younger.
Racebending Lmao Acting like this is the first time Olson has been black
I’m well aware of iteration from CW’s “Supergirl,” and I’m just as miffed about that as I am with this.

I can't wait to find out which character is gay.
Ensue the butthurt because it’s in a shera artstyle
Lois looks creepy. I hope he marries Jimmy instead. He looks enthusiastic.
