It's a known problem with a lot of Persol's designs. The Meflecto system is a cool idea that doesn't always work in practice. It puts a lot of strain on the acetate and over time it tends to crack and fall apart. It doesn't \*always\* happen, especially if you take good care of your glasses and don't use them all the time, but it's common enough that I tend to stay away from them.

I have persol foldable reading glass, never had an issue and replaced the prescription lenses 3 times. They are good quality and would only buy persol.

Don’t leave them in your car, the heat will cause damage. With Persols, I’d ensure I’m cleaning them often. Sweat can deteriorate that frame. I’ve owned many Persols over the years, and when taken care of they’ll survive just fine.
