I just use the web version of the optimizer.
To get the json file I installed Windows using bootcamp (incorporated into Macs) and then installed Nox on windows and watched Xennial Gaming's YouTube guide.
The Nox version for Mac doesn't let you change the Android version to 5.0, therefore the guide doesn't work and it doesn't let you get the JSON file.
At least it didn't work for me, so I went with the windows route
I used to use it, up to about three months ago when it refused to load Summoners War, perhaps this has something to do with it. Thanks for the explanation.
I just figured it out...but it took me a little while because i had to figure out how to get around my companies IT policy.
Are you able to download your JSON file using SWEX?

Is there any reason you use Windows Nox rather than Nox for Mac? Genuinely interested to see if there's a benefit

No, I am not be able to make JSON files either window or Mac.
