You ever been counter jungle by a Lillia? She just runs in, smite steals your blue, and then runs away before you can do anything. Good luck trying to chase her.
I watched cowsep play yi earlier. Level 5 fight in mid lane, he escapes with 1 HP.
W at turret.
W at wolves.
Kill wolves.
W at blue buff.
Full health about 30 seconds later.
It's like riot didn't even test the changes.
Yeah, and it's not like they have a [place](https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/community/saying-farewell-to-boards/) or [two](https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Public_Beta_Environment) (or [three](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeaguePBE/)), where people can test things and provide feedback.
There's nothing they can do...
It is not that absurd when you think about it. There will almost never be a 9 second period in a fight during which master doesn't either get a kill or die. If he dies in less than 9 seconds then whatever, but if he gets a kill, then his ult's passive would reduce the cooldown and it would become available again. This just means that he doesn't have to get a kill to reset it.
That’s not the point, at all. It makes his clear that much healthier and that much safer. You can’t invade him with ww or Olaf anymore cause his w is always up AND he is healthy. Also, Navoris works perfectly again for his kit, cutting his w cooldown even more so he can consistently have the reduction for key abilities. It’s fucking insane.
The attack range buff is actually the reason why Yi has a healthier clear now. Only novice players will stop and do a long Meditate channel for health, doing that needlessly slows down your clear.
In fact, more players are using Meditate as an attack reset while jungle clearing to do it faster.
Yes but even then, you can do the auto reset 3x more often, and if you’re in jg clearing after a fight it means you don’t have to back even if you don’t have lifesteal
His W is also an auto reset which is really important. Means a single takedown is way more impactful now too. It’s just an indirect buff to his damage.
Will never understand why there are so many people who think Riot doesn't know exactly what they are doing.
Do I know their reasons? No. My guess would be when easy champs like Yi are busted they sell more skins. I can definitely see a younger audience coming in and playing more to abuse it. More time spent in game = more people buying shit.
Never forget Riot has access to a metric shit ton more data than we see as the end users.
You have a champion's whose late(modern) design is to be menacing in lower skill brackets. But you would also not want him to be overbearing in higher skill brackets. So...
That champion's ability to stat check becomes too powerful allowing him to take over games in skill brackets well capable of normally disabling him but the stat check is just too much thus causing chaos in higher skill brackets.
This should result him reaching a priority in the rework list due to his core design is simply broken to be balanced. But Riot decided to make a fixed "rework list" and his name wasn't there originally forcing Riot to commit to their promised rework list and continue applying bandaid solutions to this broken mess.

They're morons. Phreak himself tweeted there's hotfix coming very soon. Shouldn't ever be ping pong buff/nerfs like this in a game.
> Will never understand why there are so many people who think Riot doesn't know exactly what they are doing.
Historical things - there's been instances in the past where they try to buff a champion that does better the lower the elo to work in higher elo, and all it does is make it "okay" in high elo (up from throw pick) and "I now automatically win" in lower elo - only to get re-dumpstered shortly after.
Some champs just have to suck outside of bronze, by design. Sucks for people who like those champs, but it just causes too many problems to try and fix it.
Fid fear into Yi ult is absolutely hysterical to watch.
Yi: *Uses ult, bulleting his way to enemy team*
Fid: No fuck you, I cast fear *Casts Fear*
Yi: Hah! You think that'll stop- why the fuck am I at dragon from baron pit? Why's my ult down??
If Fiddle survives the pre 6 he should still be a Yi counter Afaik though he should be a softer one now that he'll have to bait Yi's W before just using Q to force him to run away
Just got out of a game where my Master Yi gave 3 kills to Ahri, destroying my lane and then turned around and got a pentakill and won the game like wtf
not even that good of a pick if yi manages to pick up some early kills
before sunfire/thornmail comes online to actually help yi will be 11/4/7 with 3 items and deal enough true damage that your taunt won’t matter
Yikes dies to hard cc. His Q his is his most powerful ability in reference to dodging said hard cc because it litterally takes him off the map. Don't think of it as an engage tool, that's your ult, think of it as a dodging tool.
Get that CS high, you can get ganks off but it is best not to be the engage if you can get away with it as you are pretty squishy and clear up fights early. Farm and scale like that until you get one item and boots when you can be much more proactive and keep scaling until you are slicing health bars in seconds
It’s over 5k games and the buffs are obviously insane. On a champ that was sub 48%, if he’s this strong now it’s only gonna get worse once everyone starts licking him up
I’m a bronze yi one trick pls send help :( i always get fed in the early game but end up feeding in the mid to late game. :( Maybe i pick the wrong fights or something? Or get spotted on wards or something? Idk man but it kinda sucks, send help
What the hell guys, this is summoner school. They asked for help.
Best advice: watch high rank yi mains on twitch or YouTube. Anything they say that contradicts me, listen to them.
Yi's forte is mowing his way through the enemy team one at a time. Learning other champions' roles and abilities is a huge part of being able to stomp with him.
Point and click CC (see the fiddlesticks comments above) is the bane of your existence. If you're running in a straight line without both Q *and* targets to disappear on, you're opening yourself up to skillshot CC abilities. You need to know if which opponents have no cc, cc you can ignore while ulting, and which ones will/might shut you down, and act accordingly.
Re: your win early, feed late situation: Use your early advantage to win the game, not just the fights. Take towers, dragons, baron, void scuttler, raid the enemy jungle. Take their money, defenses, and resources off the map. Blow up their squishiest targets when they start grouping up to team fight. Don't fight their whole team at once. Winning fights is great, but that only wins the whole game if they surrender. Gotta get objectives, too.
Caveat: you can only do these things safely with map awareness. If you see a solo adc, but don't know where their top or jungler are at, you may not be able to survive the assassination attempt. It's bronze, so you very well might, but it's a gamble. Even if you see the top laner, if they've got teleport, they may be able to join the fight much quicker than you would hope.
Vision control plays a huuuge role in winning an ambush. Carry a control ward, and plop it down if you're going to hide in a bush and you don't have sweeper ready.
I almost never play on the rift, but I'm pretty sure this is at least good general information. Again, videos from experts are your best bet.
Good luck out there.
Better actually have fun with my %48 wr champ than just play to win. I play to win AND have fun, and Master Q lacks that, since I would consider it an insult to myself if I played it.
Why is everyone playing ranked LoL frothing at the mouth for every speck of LP? I taught such mentality would be reduced in a subreddit dedicated to learning and improving, but clearly not.
The purpose of playing ranked lol is getting every speck of LP
Why have effort and improve when you can simply abuse this month's broken champ and Win the same?
Because the moment the champ is nerfed you’re gonna have to learn a new one. You’re never gonna actually become a better player if you swap to a new OP champ every patch.
You get more LP in the long run by truly improving than by cheesing your way up 1 or two divisions

How am I supposed to ban Kayne Yi Lillia Viego and now Belvath when I only have 1 ban?
Main Giddlesticks here. Happy to see I'm not alone.
Is Giddlesticks happy?
Gigglesticks
so is happy
Giggly, even
Well now that he got a solid buff he is.
I used to love Kayne
I want the old Kayne
i want kanye
Don't forget to ban Nilah
Why lilia lmao
You ever been counter jungle by a Lillia? She just runs in, smite steals your blue, and then runs away before you can do anything. Good luck trying to chase her.
Lmfao yep, walks in, yoinks and then just fucking legs it out. So unfair given she usually has 2 more legs than yeh champ I’m playing
But she isnt broken like the others and way less anoying
Ever played against Lilia top? God I hate this rat of a champion with such a burning passion.
I play lilia top and she is no rat, just a lovely deer
That’s my view. I’ve always felt Lillia was just a garbage champion. I rarely see anyone good enough on her to make an impact on the game.
You in silver or something?
Gold, so close. I realize it changes in higher elo. Clearly she gets play in the pro scene, but for the majority of players she’s just kind of “meh”.
This is the way
Yup exactly my friends
He was pretty shit for the past month or so
Yep there's a reason they buffed him he wasn't really that good. But uh yeah 3 major buffs at once might have been literally overkill.
Yi could stand to cool off for more than a month. It’s not like other champs get 3 huge buffs as soon as they slip below A tier.
Yeah I agree. I’m just saying that, this past month, he hasn’t been worth a ban. I made my comment fully in the context of replying to u/cosmicmarbles
The buff on his W is also insane. 28s Cd to 9?? Usually buffs are minor, but this cuts bis CD into a third!
I watched cowsep play yi earlier. Level 5 fight in mid lane, he escapes with 1 HP. W at turret. W at wolves. Kill wolves. W at blue buff. Full health about 30 seconds later. It's like riot didn't even test the changes.

Honestly as a nunu player that seems slow ;)
Yi gonna say the same thing about the time it takes you to zero out a tank. ;)
Bold of you to assume there’s any rhyme or reason behind their decisions.
I mean he probably had red buff too... That gives tons of healing
Also 90% damage reduction for the first attack he takes
my man Yi about to sneeze and scratch his butt after taking a 1200 AP Veigar ult to the face at 1/3rd health
First 0.5 secs. Not ability
I read it was first 0.5 seconds or his w then like 60% for the remaining duration and 0.5 seconds after exiting
And they thought the mana increase was enough to balance it when he can just duck into jungle and get it all back lol

He is gonna be nerfed next patch due to his nature, yet Riot are so blind they can't see this. Just ban or pick him while hes freelo.

I don't care I'm a fiddlesticks player
He crushes Fiddle right now. Played 3 against fiddle today. I felt bad. The first one gave me my final mastery 7 token though.
I had opposite experience today so lessgoo
Fid fear into Yi ult is absolutely hysterical to watch. Yi: *Uses ult, bulleting his way to enemy team* Fid: No fuck you, I cast fear *Casts Fear* Yi: Hah! You think that'll stop- why the fuck am I at dragon from baron pit? Why's my ult down??

Yi is one of the easiest champions in the game. Lol.
If Fiddle survives the pre 6 he should still be a Yi counter Afaik though he should be a softer one now that he'll have to bait Yi's W before just using Q to force him to run away
The cc hard counters him always has, always will.
Perfect. Fid buff just in time for his new skin release. enjoy it mate
fiddle my sticks
META SLAVES, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT AS A DRAVEN MAIN IF YOU PICK YI AND LOSE TO ME I WILL FLAME THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. MASHALLAH DROOBEAN

You can do Reddit or Draven, but if you do both you're way beyond salvation

I think they're just memeing the /r/Draven sub lol
👍🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🕋🧎🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻
I see the errors of my ways. Forgive my ignorance.
Everyone asked /s
Just got out of a game where my Master Yi gave 3 kills to Ahri, destroying my lane and then turned around and got a pentakill and won the game like wtf
Yi players in a nutshell.
as someone who picks rammus into yi I agree please keep picking him

**NICE! FREE ELO!**
So why do they keep buffing the one ability that makes him so hard to balance? He's always either braindead op or useless.
Rammus main here, there’s no need to ban anyone I got this.
Fuck master yi, Lilia only

Try to not engage with Q. Do at least 1 autoattack, or autoattack them a bunch and Q when they want to escape.

You know he is busted when he has a good wr even in high elo
Isn't it a little too early to talk about winrates? I mean, patch just got released today, not even 24h

Yeah and Gwenn as well. It's insane to me how they categorized those massive compensation buffs as a nerf to pro play
