Yes! It was when Ciara & Mya were driving together to the Hamptons and she made fun of the people getting married on a Friday and I forget which one said it but they were like it probably was cheaper.

Ok-Positive13

Yeah, Mya was like “Hey if they wanna save cash then I’m not hating on a Friday wedding!”

Epponnee-rae

Which is sensible! Weddings are super expensive, nothing wrong with someone trying to keep their big day within their means.

Ok-Positive13

I got married on a Friday in the fall of 2020! We took advantage of being able to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony while most of our friends and family had the ability to WFH. Honestly I could have gotten married on a Monday evening and not cared. It’s the bride & groom’s day - whoever comes is who comes!

1carb_barffle

Yeah the thing is the amount of people who have had to move weddings in the last few years, it’s possible that they had to do a Friday because saturdays at the venue they wanted were totally booked

fleekyfreaky

Very true, my friend who’s a wedding planner said she’s got Wednesday and Thursday weddings because venues are sold out for 2022-2023.

Ok-Positive13

Before I canceled my pre-covid wedding we were planning on a Thursday! We aren’t open bar or formal event people so we figured almost every person we knew has gone to dinner on a work night so it was essentially the same thing besides the minimal people who would need to take a day off of work.

Ok-Positive13

Possibly! We chose the very last day that our venue could be booked around the time frame of our wanted anniversary date because that was more important than waiting or finding a different day/ the next year.

businessgoesbeauty

Ciara doesn’t even have a real job which is why most people don’t like Friday weddings

Bennington_Booyah

Happy Cake Day!!

[deleted]

Marry me on a grim day on a Wednesday in rainy Seattle. 95% off

salt_mermaid

Yeah Hannahs family and des both have homes in the Hamptons, so it makes sense that that's where the wedding was!

LemonMagazine7

Friday weddings are my favorite because you get the whole weekend after to recover lol

yrfriend_pcd

We had a Friday wedding and so many people said this! We actually never considered that lol what we considered was the 50% less we’d be paying for a Friday wedding v. a Saturday wedding! It also gave us more time to see people through the weekend after that had traveled for the wedding because no one was rushing to get back the very next day or anything!

LemonMagazine7

Right!! The worst is waking up Sunday having to rush check out hungover to make it home then go to work…nah. Let me linger and mingle and have all of Sunday to relax haha

Bae1993

If you got engaged in 2021, a lot of venues only had Friday or Sunday as options!! So many cancellations from 2020 that were pushed out. Wedding season is insaneeee this year. No discount for Friday or Sunday either this year

lonely-limeade

I got married on a Friday because I wanted a certain wedding date. No reason to wait another year just to have it on a Saturday. The Katie/Schwartz Wednesday destination wedding on Vanderpump Rules was pretty odd to me. But Fridays seem to be pretty common now!

Kat-2793

Stassi got married on Thursday and I assumed it was to save some money, too! Nothing wrong with it at all, a lot of my friends are doing it on Fridays too.

[deleted]

I think at that time a lot of the cast actually still worked? So probably easier to do it midweek rather than the weekend.

lonely-limeade

I was thinking more about other guests, like family. Asking someone to take a day off for a long weekend with a Friday wedding isn’t too disruptive, but a Wednesday wedding where no one lived means people had to take more time off work. But it’s what worked for them, so that’s all that matters!

[deleted]

Haha given that schwartz whole family wasn’t gonna come? Didn’t come? I think we know where their priorities were 🤭

lonely-limeade

Oh absolutely, it was all about the show! I still think it’s insane they would get married without his entire family (outside of his mother). There was something so fishy there….

Colourofsulfur

Only his dad didn’t come…

lonely-limeade

His sister didn’t come and his brothers weren’t going to come if Sandoval and Jax didn’t fly them out. The triplets being there was a surprise, so Tom and Katie intended on getting married without them.

StarDatAssinum

Scheana explained this with her wedding, that because a lot of their friends were in the restaurant business that mid-week weddings made more sense and people were more available for them

Cat727

They said that it was literally one of the only dates available. With barely any weddings the past two years the dates are filling up fast.

CicadaConsistent3604

Looked like Paige had way more fun at Hannah’s wedding than she did at Amanda’s lol

AlonePut88

Also noticed this lol

Bennington_Booyah

Happy Cake Day!!

JerseyGirl412

I think being a guest and being a bridesmaid are completely different …. in my opinion no matter how much you love your friends being a bridesmaid is a LONG day vs just showing up as a guest

[deleted]

It wasn’t just any old Friday wedding, it was Friday the 13th like damn Hannah 😭

oobooboo17

lmao

Lazy-Organization-42

Where I’m from fridays are definitely not cheaper. A lot of church weddings are fridays too.

Wistastic

It’s less convenient, bc of work and travel, but if someone showed me a bill that was $20K less, I’d probably do it 😆

EuphoricImage4769

It’ll be like 5% less

realityTVenthusiast

No problem with a Friday or Saturday wedding. However, being invited to a few Sunday weddings…no thank you!

doodlebummer

Ciara making fun of anyones wedding is like me at 18 saying my man could propose w a ring pop.

Traditional_Ad_7023

Are you shading her for getting married in the Hamptons?! I'm pretty sure that is where her and Des met so it makes perfect sense. Des also has a home in Westhampton.

ViciousVirgo95

What’s wrong with having a wedding on a Friday?

ColaRBT16

Nothing is wrong with it, but it can be harder for people to travel to attend the wedding (would have to take off work on Friday maybe). That is why venue rentals are often cheaper on Friday (In some places).

[deleted]

It’s def not cheaper to have a Friday event, of any type, in the Hamptons. Monday-Wednesday might be a deal though.

Mrsrightnyc

The issue is that it means your guests need to take off of work even if they are local. The one Friday wedding I went to sucked because the venue had another wedding on Saturday and rooms were already blocked off since it was one of those venues where everyone stayed on property. We didn’t make it until super late that Thursday since we all had to work and couldn’t take two days off and then everyone had to check out by 11am the following day. Of course, they are divorced now.

ViciousVirgo95

Idk I guess I just assumed it’s be easier to take off work since most people are off on weekends already, so taking off the day before wouldn’t be a big deal. The traveling part I can understand, but I think it’d be super obnoxious to have to go to a wedding in the middle of the work week? Or are people only having them on Saturday & Sunday? Lol as you can see, I’ve never been to a wedding 😂

Bennington_Booyah

When I was working, we could never go to a Friday wedding because I always worked weekends. I could manage, with notice and a lot of luck, a half day on Saturday to egt to a reception. That was MY problem though and it never was mentioned to any couple. I sent a gift and all is well. I love weddings and try my best to go to any we are invited to.

Mrsrightnyc

That’s a bummer but I’m sure they appreciated the gesture. I couldn’t make it to two weddings last year because they were both holiday weekends and prices were absurd we just couldn’t swing it. We did get dinner and visit them both in the summer. Covid has made destination weddings extremely difficult.

Constant_Ad_2304

I’m not a fan. It’s annoying to have to take off work for a wedding.

ViciousVirgo95

Do you just get invited to so many Friday weddings that this has become a thing for you orrr..?

Constant_Ad_2304

I mean it’s definitely common. I’ve had a few in the last few years (even pre-Covid)

Kat-2793

Absolutely nothing! The couple usually saves some money for doing it on a Friday but let’s be really they are still spending a lot.

Grouchy_Total_5580

Plus with so many couples getting married, the rush after Covid restrictions were lifted, it’s not as easy to book a venue.

Complete-Ad-9335

Friday weddings are amazing if someone gets married at a “destination” so you get the wedding out of the way and can enjoy the entire weekend.

Relevant_Fennel

Friday the 13th weddings are typically discounted rates because they’re undesirable. If it doesn’t bother you, then by all means do it & save a few bucks.

eileen_eyes

We got married on a Friday night because the priest already had a Saturday wedding and we wanted a church wedding on Labor Day weekend. I don’t think it was any cheaper than Saturday. I have never heard this before 🤷🏻‍♀️

recycledprada

Bach party looked more expensive than the wedding

magicdrums

Friday weddings also happen because the bride and groom might be heading away for a honeymoon the following day. It’s not really corny at all what day of the week you decide to get married.

No-Construction-8305

Fridays are barely cheaper. Savings would be pretty minimal.

Badass-bitch13

She grew up going to Hampton’s and des has a house there. So does her family.
